  • I haven't been to one in the small towns in awhile, but they used to have a salad bar. Is this still an option for dine in?
  • Closed out Week 1, Day 3 this morning. After finishing up a P90X/Insanity hybrid this feels easy in some ways. I decided to add in the Upper Body Weight Training. It made for a rather long workout. Recovery day tomorrow.
  • If I had the diagnostic equipment I could do it all myself. :D I was already looking at a building a unit with a Bluetooth transmitter that plugs into the HD port and sends data to a phone app. I'm a geek, what can I say. LOL
  • ^^^^ This. 4am every morning but Sunday. :D
  • I ride a 2012 HD CVO Softail Convertible.
  • It is not a must, but it will be more effective at altitude changes and warm up. The EFI will adjust air/fuel for temperature and altitude/pressure. The MAP sensor detects barometric pressure and sends that information to the EFI. You may still have some of those features in a carbureted version, but the jets have some…
  • My wife has the Marilyn. This series of holsters was a great idea for women and on body carry. They hide a lot better than belt carry and the tighter shirt styles of today.
  • I'd be curious about the compression shorts. Although I suspect you might be carrying a sub or micro compact and I have a compact .45. I have the compression shirts with the under arm holster and it rubs really bad when running, but work great for work. To the OP. I understand. I live in an a rural area myself and if I go…
  • Instead of going by the default settings based on age/weight etc. You might see if your heart rate monitor has its own version of fit tests and run it. It will adjust your levels based on what it learns and should closer match your actual ranges. If your HRM doesn't, you can likely find one online. I had to run mine about…
  • True. That is why Gattaca is one my favorite SciFi movies. There is no accounting for the human spirit and willpower in DNA.
  • Nothing. I am always amused by Gold's Gym advertising slogan: "Look better naked". If I reach that goal then everything else I wear will look better. :D
  • Don't buy the protein shakes directly. Go to your local Sam's Club or other place that sells it and pick up a bag/container of Whey Protein powder. It comes in Vanilla and Chocolate typically. You can mix it with a glass of milk, water, or juice. Not a fan of it with juice though. Even better, mix a scoop or two with milk…
  • You can do the knee pushups. Just keep doing it and eventually you will be doing them from your toes. Heck, on some of the longer workouts I end up doing a few as my final reps because I wasn't able to maintain form on the regular ones. What Jkbeale said: Do your best and forget the rest. As long as you continue to push…
  • Awesome. Great job on your progress technologically and the weight loss!!
  • You will need to resize your original picture too. For some reason the bb tag to change image size doesn't work.
  • I think the tags, the img in the brackets has to be lower case.
  • No probably, it is. MFP does the same thing. If you change what your "lifestyle" is. Sedentary: Spend most of the day sitting (e.g. bank teller, desk job) Lightly Active: Spend a good part of the day on your feet (e.g. teacher, salesman) Active: Spend a good part of the day doing some physical activity (e.g. waitress,…
  • I use a heart rate monitor with my weight lifting, but the routines are those in P90X are closer to what I think they call circuit training. Basically going from one exercise to the next so the heart rate gets up. I was surprised at how many calories I burn doing that.
  • Born and raised. Residing in Plantersville, TX, home of the Texas Renaissance Festival. :D
  • The sweet tooth is a killer for a lot of people. My Dad developed Type II diabetes in his late 50s so it caused me to start watching my sugar intake, especially since my brother was showing borderline number migrating toward getting it himself for a time.
  • You don't necessarily have to get bars as there are many powdered protein supplements out there as well these days. Watch the protein bars. I have a hard time finding in that are high protein without bringing along all the carbs and sugar. The nice thing about the supplements is that you can add it to other things like a…
  • She still rides with me sometimes, but on longer trips it is more comfortable for her to just ride hers. Heck, she sometimes uses it to commute to work. :D
  • LOL I hear you. I traded in a Fat Bob for it. I miss that one sometimes, but this one is a lot nicer and that 110 scoots!! Definitely a fun ride. Keep up your own goals for the weight loss. I backtracked over the holidays, it was an insane couple of months and getting back to hitting it hard again and watching what I eat.…
  • Most definitely. Keep in mind that some low back pain can be attributed to tight hamstrings and even down into the calves. You will be amazed at how much daily stretching (more than what they do for cool off) helps. It has made a difference for me, and especially so if you are in a chair, as I am, all day. You might try…
  • I have to pause it to write things down as well. I've also paused to finish a set. Ab Ripper X is one that I do that on several exercises. I can do all of the reps, just not as fast as they do. I'm in the sixth week of a P90X/Insanity hybrid. If you though Plyometrics with Tony was hard, try the Plyometric Cardio workout…
  • No, there are three extra workouts from the Deluxe package. 1. Max Interval Sports Training 2. Upper Body Weight Training 3. Insane Abs Max Interval Sports Training shows on the calendar to be used to replace Core Cardio & Balance if you want. Insane Abs replaces Cardio Abs. The Upper Body Weight Training is an "extra"…
  • Honestly, the easiest way is to invest in a heart monitor. It will help on two fronts. First is tracking the calories you burn. Second it will tell you how you are doing fitness wise. I watch mine during the workouts and end up extending the breaks until my heart rate gets back down to the level it should be before…
  • I love this one. I had a related one. I took my class sometime back and went down to the DPS office to take the written test and get it added to my license. The lady at the counter said I absolutely had to get a new picture because I had lost so much weight and definitely looked different. I ride a 2012 Harley CVO Softail…
  • Stars Earn Stripes was fun in that respect. They were blowing things up every week.
  • Not sure where you work, but nearly every place I've been smoking is not allowed so the second hand smoke argument is a moot point. In many places in California, Wisconsin that I recall you can't even smoke within so many feet of an entryway.
