I like the variety of the comments! Thanks. :) I really just like him a lot.. he's got a great sense of humor and his laugh is fantastic. As I stated before the work thing isn't a big deal - he's a part-time recruiter, and I would probbaly be considered more senior than he is. It's a small company and lots of people in the…

Thanks for the feedback! The work thing, while a concern because of potential awkwardness, is not an HR concern. Actually, he's technically in HR.... :)

This is probably true. One carb is four calories. The average person might eat upwards of 200g carbs per day - if she was cutting that down to 20 that's eliminating 720 calories. Obviously parts of this are made up elsewhere, but if she was replacing carbs with vegetables and protein, she probably ate a lot less. Protein…

I make the same thing (almost) everyday! So delicious and so easy in the morning. Mine is usually vanilla, but I bet the chocolate would be amazing with some walnuts. Here's what I make: 1/2 cup oats 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk 1 scoop vanilla protein powder 1 tbsp walnuts 1/2 tbsp honey 1/2 tbsp chia seeds 1 tsp…

I will usually wander the grocery store looking for different things I want, then will plan one day in advance trying to use those items. Trying to plan more than one day in advance is useless for me because of so many last minute things that come up. I eat a lot of the same things every day though, which helps. Also there…

Laughing so hard I pulled a muscle. :drinker:

...to smell something you must inhale molecules of the substance. So yes, if they can smell it, they are breathing it in. Whether or not it's unsafe, I have no idea.

Sounds like it would be good even as a cold pasta salad if you skipped the marinara sauce, added some salt and pepper (and grilled chicken!)... Yum!

That looks delicious! What kind of cake are you blending with the angel food, just regular yellow? I second the shake - I use one 100 cal Nesquik bottle, scoop of vanilla protein, a frozen banana, and PB2. Yummm.

I made almost the same thing last night, but I added a can of tuna and used plain greek yogurt for sour cream. Delicious!!

They're more like a gooey oatmeal cookie. Delicious!

If you stay under your calories, you can stay under your macros - it's just how you proportion them. Obviously 2000 cals of pasta will put you way over carbs/under protein, like 2000 cals of chicken will put you over on protein and under on carbs. You just need to find the balance that works for you.

I just opened mine on Tuesday! It was sitting in my closet for ten years, and now they all fit. Such a great feeling!

They do have mushroom! Maybe we'll try that. They have an herbal as well and a mongolian veggie.

The place offers a selection; you can choose two. We usually get mala (spicy) and tomyum (sweet & sour). The broth looks a little oily from the chilis, but mostly looks like just water, spices, and some fruits/veggies for flavor.

I actually keep a spreadsheet of activities and plan all my gym time, meals, and grocery shopping around them. It can make for a hectic schedule, like my evening tonight - leave work at 6 to get to the gym before it closes, do an hour, go back to work to finish my project which is due tomorrow, then go grocery shopping at…

Scared and like I should just give up. But I didn't! Now I wouldn't trade my gym time for anything.

A chocolate milk, protein powder, and frozen fruit smoothie.

Love it. It's the most important lesson that I've learned in the past six months. I've also learned that it applies equally to other life choices, like dirty dishes and laundry. :)

Pretty sure the word you're looking for is "denser". 1lb of muscle is DENSER than 1lb of fat. Not heavier.

A few tablespoons of peanut butter will help close the gap.

Bump!

Buuuuump.

UNO's deep dish cheese and tomato pizza. I'll get one every six months on a splurge day. It's about 2000 calories for the whole (relatively tiny) thing. Luckily it's so filling I can only eat half at a time - half for lunch and half for dinner. :)

Buy some fun workout clothes!

Taking off the yolk would make it less caloricly dense. The yolk has healthy fats in it.

As for the knee pain - have you looked at your shoes? When I first started walking I was using the wrong shoes for a while (they were offering pronation control that I didn't need) and that messed up my knees and hips. I got fitted, switched shoes, and felt better. Just a thought - your pain sounds a lot more severe than…

The soup would kill me. It's like 2 cups of water that costs you useless calories, and just not very filling imo (unless you're making homemade soup, which would be better than canned but still not great). I would suggest adding some filling veggies and lean proteins. You can have a can of tuna or four oz of chicken for…

Lol except she didn't even say that it did. She was asking if it could be water retention.
