Um OK but why do they make you enter your account number before you can talk to a real person, and then you have to give it to the person anyway? And the next person and the next person and the next person. And you have to tell your same story over and over - you wait while they type it into "their system", but then they…

Hubby will eat the peanut butter ice cream too. I think if I don't start, I'll be OK. At least he didn't buy the lemon! Today I didn't eat cereal out of the box. Not much other opportunity to say no to an indulgence. I did see that there were some cookies out on a table at work but it wasn't right in my immediate area so I…

Add me if you like. And join the "Say No To Indulgences Challenge", in the Motivation section. :)

OK - I've got one more...when I go to a class at the gym, and it is crowded, and the women who wait by the door to get all rush to claim their spot. Sometimes this includes setting up a step and they arrange them just far apart so that no one can fit next to them (or in front of behind). but still leave more space than…

This is definitely one of my pet peeves. And people who don't use their blinkers, especially when they are trying to cut in, like when a road goes from 2 lanes down to one. Sometimes when people don't use their blinker in a parking lot, I wait until they get out of their car, and I go up to them really sweet and say,…

I smashed into a pick up truck once because of this. Kind of. There was construction on the highway and it was only one lane, so there actually was a stop sign at the end of the on ramp. BUT it was really early in the morning and there was no traffic, so I took a quick look over my shoulder and saw that there were no cars…

OK - this report is for yesterday. I didn't really have any opportunity to "say no" to anything, other than my ice cream at night. My hubbie bought Blueberry Cheesecake (I am not a blueberry fan) and Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup (which is one of my favorites), but I said NO, and I had a sugar free Swiss Miss hot chocolate…

@daybyday - I hear you about the work stress. Ugh! My job is going to be very stressful for awhile since the bank I work for is acquiring another bank. The department that I manage is significantly impacted, and although we are already buried with work for it, things aren't expected to settle down until well into…

@frogmama - very good! although it looks like you went to Applebee's and the movies. Today, I didn't eat cereal out of the box at work, which is a bad habit I have started to develop. I did have my ice cream BUT that's because there was one last serving of mint chocolate chip and no one else will eat it (and I was…

Well, I officially start this challenge. I wish we had a few more participants, but it is hard to get a thread noticed once it drops down in the "pecking order". :grumble:
-
Yay! That's the spirit! I'm not starting until Wednesday - I have to finish my mint chocolate chip ice cream
-
Hmmm - looks like not too many people find this challenge too appealing. That's OK - I'm still going to do it, and may we'll get a few more to join us. If anyone has questions or ideas, just let me know.
-
P.S. - I kind of think this is a "positive" challenge because you will be reporting all of the indulgences that you passed up - meaning even if you don't have anything to report for a day or two, the next time you pass up an indulgence you will have SUCCESS to report!! I think this will help some of us better than a…

Major fail - I was up and down, the same pound or two, for the whole month. I can't get off of this plateau. I am starting a new challenge called "Say NO to indulgences". Check it out, under "Motivation & Support".

Honestly, I don't see the point of only weighing once a week. On that particular day, you could be at a "peak" or a "valley". It's not like those go away, just because you don't weigh yourself every day. For me anyway, seeing the overall trend by getting weighed every day, and taking the peaks and valleys into…

Not doing to good with the Wii challenge this week. I went to the gym yesterday and did a 60 minute body conditioning class (step, body bar, weights, etc) and today I was out geocaching on snowy trails - my sister's heart rate monitor said she burned almost 800 calories. I thought this challenge would help me sneak in a…

Me and the Buffalo Sabres...yeah, yeah, yeah.... (It's a song they play on the local radio sometimes - I guess you had to be there  ) Just this past Friday, I had a ticket to the suite that my company has at HSBC Arena, and I watched them beat the Ottawa Senators. Had a few beers, some chicken wings, beef on weck,…

Well, I can only speak for myself...I don't drink it plain, so it is hard for me to explain what it tastes like. I buy the Almond Breeze Unsweetened for my cereal. It is 40 calories per cup, and I only use 1/2 cup. It is definitely not as thin and watery as skim milk, and I think it adds a bit of "richness". I don't cook…

Last night was one of my more active TV nights...I really don't watch a ton of TV, but I like Glee, Rasing Hope and Parenthood on Tuesdays. Anyway, I did 20 minutes of Free Run while watching Glee, and squeezed in 10 - 15 minutes of Balance Games before and after. I'll be sure to get my hour of balance games in by the end…

That may sound like a good idea but for me, that is tough too. I leave the house at 6:45 a.m. and get home around 6:00 p.m., on a normal day. For me to tack on a stop at the gym and get home after 7:00 p.m. is just too hard...even though it would be nice to get it over with. That may work for someone who normally gets home…

That's easy for me: extra half hour of sleep!

I feel very much like you do. I just cannot bring myself to get up early to exercise. I agree with what a lot of posters have said - try to squeeze it in when you can. I have been fortunate this past year to have a friend at work who has become my walking partner, and on most days we "force" each other to walk for 30…

Weighed in today at 148.8 - a loss of .2 pounds. I still have 3.8 pounds to go for this February challenge so it isn't looking too promising. But on a positive note, I am back down to my lowest point since joining MFP over a year ago. I was 148.8 on 12/13, but then gained a couple pounds over the holidays. Well, maybe I'll…

My weigh in day is Monday and I was down .2 today, to 148.8. That's where I was back in mid-December, before I gained a couple pounds over the holidays so hopefully I will keep going down, down down. I am participating in another February challenge and my goal was to get down to 145, but that's going to be tough! Anyway, I…

 (I love genuine "LOL's" and that was one! Thanks)

Wow - other people do that too???? I've got one more - when the other people in your household know they better not throw any food packaging out before you've had a chance to log it.
-
Here's my story - maybe it will help. I lost 65 pounds back in 2001 - 2002, and then put most of it back on, very gradually. :grumble: Now, I have lost about 40 pounds since January 2010. I have been on a bit of a plateau for the past couple of months - gained a couple pounds over the holidays :drinker: ..then…

Just did about 35 minutes, so I have my hour for the week. I did some hula hoop, soccer, step aerobics, and a few other things. Glad I got my workout in!

Just did 30 minutes - 20 minutes of free step, some soccer, step aerobics & hula hoop. Yay!
