You look amazing! Thank you for sharing! I can't wait to reach my 100 pound goal!

I have an Omron BF500 and I love it. You can step on the thing 20 times in a row and it will always be the same. It comes with some other features too.
-
I'm tempted to do the same but I'm aware that if I'm prepping a meal, I would rather sit down and enjoy my calories.

I just upgraded to the Polar RCX5 with GPS transmitter from a basic Garmin (FR70). You have to buy the gps unit and it is an extra thing to carry but I love it! It is the type of watch you can wear all day due to it being slim. I love that you can see all the data you choose to see on one screen and can effortlessly switch…

I hang laundry outside but I might try this and add sprinting in. I wouldn't log it as exercise for me but hey, anything to get you moving!

I run strictly for weight loss as well and have no intentions of racing just as you. However, the more you run, the more you condition your heart....that means you have to work harder to get your heart rate up. My example.... 41 years of age, 5ft 4 3/4 in tall and weigh 167 at the moment. I started back in December, jogged…

You will not build muscle by running or doing the cross trainer. You will burn fat, get toned strong legs, and condition your heart! I run 10k twice a week and may jump on the cross trainer if I want to burn more. I burn a bit more calories running outdoors than my cross trainer but not much, however, I love running…

Just want to add to what the previous poster said about oatmeal. 1 cup of cooked oatmeal is about 300 calories. I measure out 60 grams of dry oats which expands with cooking and that is about 1/2 cup dry, calories are about 180.

Apple shapes hold the majority of fat on the tummy and major organs. Because most of it is on the tummy, it will be the last to go.

I just want to say that you are on top of that mountain and now your off to the next mountain! I'm looking to see inspirational stories too.

You all look amazing and what an inspiration! I am 5' 4 3/4" tall with a small frame This is me at my highest, 258.8 Funny thing now, this jacket didn't fit me then and it doesn't fit me now! What a feeling to donate it because its too big! Half way at 198 10 year wedding anniversary was 180, I got to 178! And today,…

Your gain is probably from the food the day before and shouldn't stay. If it was high in sodium, you will retain water and if it was just heavy food, it will take a bit more to move through your body. You don't have your diary visible so can't see what types of food you are eating. What do you do for exercise and how many…

If you carry your weight at your tummy, it will be the last to go. Well done on the weight loss!

I'm 5' 4 3/4" and I'm aiming for 125 which is about middle of the range for me. I'm at 168 now and when I get to 150 I plan on starting stronglifts 5x5,maybe sooner so that number may very well change. Edited to add that I have a small frame.

Excellent article, thank you so much!

I understand what you are saying but I was to the understanding that your liver can only hold so much sugar and what is left over can be stored as fat. I'm obviously still learning but I noticed when I first started if I was still under calorie but way over sugars a few days in a row, I didn't lose as much. Easter week was…

http://circ.ahajournals.org/content/120/11/1011.full.pdf Sorry but too much sugar makes you fat. And to the reply above about carb bashing, I didn't bash carbs, I just made a notation that she is consistently over her carbs. End of comment on carbs.
-
Yeah, in your case, you need to ditch the scales! You look more toned in this weeks pic compared to last weeks so you are definitely doing this right! Keep it up
-
You are consistently way over your sugar and carb allowance. Your body can only process so many sugar grams before the excess gets stored as fat.

I love coconut milk but not for the saturated fat so I usually drink unsweetened almond milk. I like it for everything but not as a drink on its own. If you like to drink milk you could mix half unsweetened almond milk with lite coconut milk, it's very yummy served cold. I was completely dairy free for about 8 months so…

That was my first thought. You're actually in a good position to eat at 8 if you have just gone for a run....you got your metabolism going to burn calories.
-
Don't skip breakfast You eat too much junk You drink too many sugary drinks And I doubt that you are burning 600 calories walking at 2.5 for 2 hours You should never estimate, always weigh because you will be way off. After 6 months of doing so, you will then be better able to estimate when needed. Track your sugars, I'm…

I have to agree that this is harsh, however, you make an excellent point about comparing anti-smoking to anti-obesity campaigns.....not enough is done to deter us from picking up that can of soda. I also want to add that it's not exactly something we did intentionally to ourselves. I grew up in a house that always had huge…

What brand is it and does it have a chest strap? I think that number is high but may not be far off depending on ow fast you were walking. If you get your heart rate high enough you can burn more calories. I ran for an our today at 6mph and burned just over 1000 calories going just over my target heart rate.

Mash them up with some oats and bake them as cookies. They are so yummy and no sugar added!
-
Don't let those who run fast on the treadmill intimidate you, they didn't start out at 10! I will say, exercising outdoors is much better but when it's cold, I love getting on the treadmill.

I have plantar fasciitis and had a gait analysis. After trying about a dozen trainers, I ended up in a pair of brooks adrenaline GTS 12's. They are slightly structured and very supportive. I have gone running in my New Balance trail shoes and you can feel the difference in support. My heal is more painful after running in…

Thanks so much for that! I have been looking at the Polar brand. I need to find out what my max heart rate is. My hrm has been a great tool for training. I like trying to push myself to go further and faster which has really brought my heart rate down and I can't adjust my watch with it.

Shock absorber N109! I'm only a 38dd but I barely move in that thing.

I'm 41, 5' 4 3/4" SW: 258.8 CW: 168.2 GW: 125-130 I don't know what my first week loss was, I started at the end of July 2012. My average weight loss over my journey is 2.4 pounds per week. I have my profile set to lose 1 pound a week in food deficit and then I burn at least 3600 calories to get a second pound. Some weeks,…
