Great achievement. It is nice to see more measures of our improvements than just the scale. Thanks.

Sounds great. A lot of great suggestions. Enjoy and take your time. If you have anything left then take it home. If you ate it all then don't worry about it. If you like sweet potatoes they are a great alternative and have a better taste w/o the butter.

Thanks pal...great to have you onboard.

Reality has a way of slapping us in the face sometimes. You're doing great! Thanks.

You really transformed. I had to look up my A1C level. I didn't have a before but my after was 5.9 which I assume is pushing the high end. Did you get yours under control?

Congrats on your 50lb loss. Do you remember how you felt before you started this new relationship w/ food?

Awesome. I forget about the stress relief on the joints too. Wonderful you got off the meds and 'normal' again. Thanks.

The Girl Scouts here are starting to hand out free samples outside the store...'just a taste' they say. So far my will is stronger than the little girl...since I started using the side entrance. I would cave in if it was in my house 24/7. Keep the faith.:noway:

great tips jj. i don't have a horse in the race today but love to watch the Steelers lose (Browns fan) and the new commercials.

All my research led me to a Polar FT40 which has a chest strap. I wanted one that just monitored from the wrist but they are not as accurate. The chest band is more comfortable than I thought it would be. Polarusa.com has a good website that will help you decide what features you need to meet your personal goals. I bought…

Getting my Polar FT40 in the mail Thursday...paid $112 w/ free ship through Amazon. The PolarUSA.com website did a good job showing me all the different features in a watch and what fit my lifestyle best.

Sure could use the help. My Feb goal is to become overweight (209lb)...I'm obese now(225 lbs)...love the labels...at least I'm not Morbid anymore.
-
Haven't tried it but heard of it. Any diet or lifestyle change that endorses rewards of pizza and doughnuts is not a good plan. Sure wish it was...sounds like fun.
-
Great plan...you have the vision...go collect your money now.:drinker:

I read a few comments that the flow link wasn't worth it. I didn't get it...I can only handle so much info at a time...:drinker:

After weeks of research I bought the Polar FT40 off Amazon for $112 w/ free shipping. The PolarUSA website has a good way of refining your search for the features that meet your needs. Have fun.
-
Welcome back. So...what are your plans for the $400?

Has a life of its own now. No way to edit after 5 or so minutes. You own it...post another question at your pref. anywhere in the thread.

Never really noticed that most of my MFP friends are girls. Not a bad thing...just not very aware I guess. Great thread you guys started...wonderful info. I'm just trying to get my life back. Missed playing softball and being able to jump in the back of my truck without laying down on the tailgate and rolling in. Currently…

Thanks for the replies. I'm encouraged I made a good choice. Many 'heartfelt' thanks.

I ordered through Amazon and it was $112 w/ free shipping. I decided to step up in price from my $50 budget justifying the features and product quality comments from users. Polarusa.com does a good job coaching you through the different features of their watches.

Well done! I am down to 225 heading for 185. What did you do to reshape?
-
Which model of Polar do you have?
-
That's what I'm reading...there isn't a highly accurate wrist monitor. I hear the straps are a hassle but maybe the best way to go. Any suggestions on best HRM overall?

I join MFP too as soon a I started my 'journey'. I love that word to define what we are doing here. I'm looking for shortcuts but it always put me on the wrong path. :noway: You've come to the right place.

lots a crunches to firm up what you have...lots a cardio at 50% of heart rate max...lots a water with high quality calories including fiber. Sure is easy to write this stuff...guess I need to heed my own advice. Have a great vacation.

Once a day for me. Same time when I wake up in the morning. I need the daily news to stay current. I go through the exact same emotions as you but that is exactly what I need to fix in my brain. I believe we need as much info we can gather about our body and reactions to food and exercise. On bad days I go to MFP and…
