my experience was when i ate my fitness cals i would maintain weight. but when i got got tired of the plateau i would eat the 1200 no matter what i did that day as far as burn and dropped the weight. i know all the 'experts' out there wouldn't agree but it is our weight and we put it on...now is the the time to shed this…

welcome aboard ole pal...a great month to kick some butt!
-
weigh-in at will...i understand variation day to day and welcome it...daily weigh in is a way to me to get to know how my body responds to different foods and activity. i'm not putting on a lot of muscle at my age...funny i thought i would find it under my fat once i lost it but it wasn't there anymore!...joy in the…

it is extreme and you know yourself best. some of us can lose 15lb in a month if we put our minds to it without doing it wrong. we know more about weight loss from years of research and experience. don't join in if it will not meet your lifestyle or compromise your health. thanks for your honest response.

Thanks for the great feedback and website references. I plan to eat whole eggs in moderation. What I am going to do different is cut out the bacon and slices of buttered bread...love butter too...but all things in moderation. It was great to see all the different opinions. Something as simple as eggs can cause confusion in…

that is awesome...i remember the joy when i crossed over from being 'obese'...don't you just love the labels...? keep up the great work and go buy you some new clothes to reward yourself
-
all the recipes sound great...the key is not to over cook/grill the chicken. too done and it is tough and lacks the tender & juicey...take it off just after the thickest piece lost the pink. and point two is make sure all the pieces are relatively the same thickness...filet if needed:drinker:
-
Awesome thread...great to see all the successes! Still a work in progress...but here is my B&A when I became unOBESE. I started this journey in Nov 2010.

sorry...my big belly is pushing the new little guy off the screen...trying to fix

keep using the goals set in your food diary. carbs are my nemisis and i try to stay below goal on those and sugar. you can add columns to track and add more meals so you can track small portions throughout the day. add me as friend if you want to see my diary and how i am doing this journey. above all...remember how much…

hi lance. i am a chocoholic. agree that you need a support system to hold you accountable and keep tabs on your progress. keeping track helps me make the unsalted cashew choice. i weigh-in daily as part of the accountability to myself and my MFP friends. i still go for the cookies and cream but i do it knowing the…

absolutely...makes me look lazy...setting the bar that high makes it easier too limbo though

i have the FT40 and i find the VO2 calc to be informative for a tracking progress. i never did the calc on my own to measure the diff. i wanted that feature cause i don't like math...:drinker:

I joined this site with the same intent...for my kids and future grandkids. You'll find this site very informative and user-friendly. Welcome aboard and feel free to add me as a friend.

Is there any other type of eating than emotional? I love food but this site has helped me greatly to make better informed choices. Add up some friends along the way ...you'll find them very supportive in your 'weaker' times. I would be glad to lend a hand if you want to add me.

Welcome aboard. I'm striving for that get under the 200 mark...then some. This is the first time I counted calories. This program has helped me make better food choices and the friend portion is encouraging.
-
with the intensity of training and few cals...i would ask where is your body getting its energy from?...probably not fat stores. higher bpm during workouts may burn some muscle because your metabolism is in neutral and holding on to your fat stores. i would reconsider your program with a little research to get your system…

I'm a Sleep Apnea survivor so to say. I had obstructive and they said the BiPap won't work well. I had an ENT remove a portion of my soft pallet and some septum work a few month back. Between the weight loss and surgery I am back in bed w/ my wife snore free and sleeping much better. I'm glad the insurance wouldn't step-up…

I make my own..while it is lower calorie it isn't as smooth or flavorful as the store brands...but at half the price and calories I'm OK. Still trying different recipes on recipe.com
-
i'm hooked on hummus....celery sticks for me.
-
wonderfull presentation...of the finished meal and chef.
-
weighed in at 216lbs this morning total -9lbs for the month...beer and girl scout cookies this weekend kept me from crossing the finish line. :drinker:
-
a horrible week...tough situations to even think about food choices...take care of the family and yourself
-
This morning I weighed in @ 218.6 lbs. (-6.4lbs). Not on schedule but at least in the right direction. Great to see everyone shedding this crap out of our lives.
-
Thanks for all the great info...I'll try all the different choices...didn't realize there were so many options. :drinker:

I went to POLARUSA.com and they have a good site to help sort through the 'many' functions and matching your requirements.

My research led me to the Polar FT40. Most everyone is happy with the Polar brand. I wanted just the watch monitor that didn't use the chest strap but was advised they are not as accurate and limited functionality. I bought mine off Amazon for $114 w/ free shipping. Keep asking and you'll be pointed to the one that best…
