I have absolutely been in this boat for about a year. My dilemma is that now I truly have no sizes left that fit. I'm currently wearing a size 14 (from a 24) and am buying actual clothes for the first time since May of last year. Awesome feeling!

I've been running since late October and have my first half marathon in 12 days! Super excited! :)

Like everyone else, I snack on fruits and veggies. I also keep a container of crunchy organic peanut butter in my desk to add to crackers or english muffins. I usually also have fiber one brownies, pop chips (which are delicious), pistachios, and freeze dried fruit.

The dressing will contain more calories than most think. I went to a Japanese steakhouse a few days ago, and the salad was over 200 calories solely because of the dressing (it only had lettuce and carrots on it).

As of last week, I'm at 90 pounds lost. I started at 319 lbs in December 2011 and am currently at 229 pounds. I refuse to have surgery, take diet pills, or any other fad. I count calories and exercise my *kitten* off (literally). I run 3 days a week, strength train twice a week, and do zumba my other 2 days. Anything is…

For the first 6 months, the results motivated me. I weighed once a week and each time the scale dropped I wanted to keep that feeling going. After the first 6 months, something else starting motivating me. It was no longer about diet or exercise or calories, but it became a pattern. My mentality has changed from looking…

I agree with everyone about asking for a box immediately. I use this trick all the time. Also, I would recommend seeing if anyone who is going with you would be willing to split an entree. This method would be even less tempting because you don't have a box of food sitting in front of you.

Congrats to you! :)

Wow. You are incredible!

Wow, great job! Be proud of how far you've come! :)

I think the point is to do what works for you. I've lost 88 pounds (SW: 319, CW: 231) exercising 5 days a week and eating around 1600 calories. If you can maintain 1200 calories and your body is not starving, I'm all for it. No matter which way you start this journey, the most important thing is slow, sustainable loss. Any…

I love to shop as much as the next person, but I don't consider that a reward, it's more of a necessity at this point. I've lost 88 pounds total so far, and here's what I've done to reward myself/planning to do: SW: 319 pounds CW: 231 pounds Height: 5'8" Goal 1: 20 pounds--Since this got me under 300, I celebrated with a…

You look ah-maz-ing! Congrats on all your hard work and success!

This thread has given me a headache. Log your food honestly. Measure everything. Eat back all of your exercise calories. 1,000 calories is not enough for any person to sustain. If you continue to eat at this level, you are more likely to binge, plateau more quickly, lose muscle mass, or get discouraged and quit. Best of…

I appreciate the sentiment of this post. I agree that too many people are looking for a "quick fix" without the blood, sweat, and tears. But, I've lost 87.5 lbs without ever calculating my TDEE/BMR. I exercise 6 times a week, do strength training, eat back almost all of my exercise calories, and try to just make overall…

Hey, I'm Ashley! I'm 27, and I've let weight define me for every one of those years. I started at 319 lbs in a size 24 busting out of the seams. Currently, I'm 233 lbs and looking to lose about 63 more. I work at as a trainer coordinator for a fortune 500 company which means I sit on my butt 8 hours a day. But, the good…

That sounds awesome. I'm just doing a quick dinner of a chicken ceasar salad and half of a twice baked potato. And of course, I'm a sucker for dessert, so I'm sure I will have a skinny cow ice cream sandwich!

My weight loss journey started in December 2011. I started at 319 pounds. Last week, I weighed in at 233. When I started, I was in a TIGHT 24. Currently, I'm in a baggy 18, and will be buying new jeans in the next 5 pounds sized 16. I'm 5'8" and pear shaped, so I tend to carry most of my weight in my hips and thighs. Plus…

I just ran a 5K today also. They are super addictive! My next race is in April and will be a half marathon! Good luck to you!

My favorite band of all time is Dave Matthews Band. I have always wanted to see him at the Gorge Amphitheater in Washington. It's about a 36 hour drive from where I live. I've already lost 83.5 pounds, but when I lose the other 66.5, I'm taking two weeks off work to see Dave and having the roadtrip of my life! :)

Amazing job! Any weight that you have lost is something to celebrate, not be ashamed of! I started my journey at 319 pounds, and I'm happy to tell you that I'm now at 241. I still have a long way to go, but I'm focusing on one day, one meal at a time. Congrats on all your success! Be proud of what you have accomplished!

Good for you for taking the first step! You're here and ready (that's half of the battle)! I started my weight loss journey in November 2011 at 319 pounds. I hit a plateau around July 2012 and joined MFP. I'm happy to tell you that I weighed today at 241--78 pounds down! I want to get to 170 pounds and go from there.…

I'm in. I just hope everyone is prepared to lose! Hahaha! :)

Blondes do have more fun! Great job on all of your hard work!

I'm currently training for a half-marathon in April. I would have loved to be able to do the Princess half at Disney, but found out about it too late for training! I hope you have a ball and keep being a rockstar!
-
Awesome job! I appreciate how positive you are and look at what you've accomplished rather than what you still have left to do!
-
You look fantastic! What an incredible transformation you've made! I'm sure there will be people who criticize the amount of time it took you, but you're living proof that success doesn't look the same for everyone! Congrats to you, and hope you have many more 5k's ahead of you!
