Love seemichellerun's post....I was much the same way. My first daughter I micromanaged every single aspect of her tiny little life. Dont get me wrong, as mothers our job is to do our best to teach our children right from wrong on all fronts, including nutrition. My mil pulled the same stuff, my daughters first candy,…

I wish I had the article handy but Im at work so no such luck, but if cholesterol is the issue white vs whole egg there are a number of articles that suggest that farm raised hens produce eggs that are more nutritionally dense and have lower cholesterol.

Ive been doing low carb a while and no such pain.

Im 42 and very much the same way...I feel like all I have to do is nibble on a piece of bread and I gain 10lbs! I can work out like a mad woman for months and watch what I eat and drop a pound or two if Im lucky. Getting older sucks.

I started mid-December and I really wish I had measured myself before I started, but I can tell you I feel much stronger. I can actually start to see some stomach definition which is huge when you have had 3 c-section and you are over 40! I have lingered longer than the 10 days on both level 1 and 2 but will be starting…

Its funny I use this with my kids all the time...you know the old bedtime delay tactic "Im hungry" so I offer them and apple or banana. I should be using this on myself! Thanks for posting.

Personally I just let it ride and get back on track the next day, however I know there are lots of folks that do extra exercise that day to offset the overage.

A coworker has one and she was pretty unimpressed. My daughters sitter has one and managed to injure her rotator cuff. I have not tried it myself so all I know is what these folks have experienced.

Love it, how true. I would not trade my little rugrats for anything, but boy do kids change life!!

My grandmother used to sprinkle it on cold cereal and oatmeal.

This won't be helpful for that lb of ground beef you have ready, but I use ground chicken breast in place of gb in my chili and it drastically reduces the calorie and fat content. It does not taste like beef, but it is very yummy. Im sure there will be someone out here that has a good beef recipe for you.

I have had the same experience, however when I really limit my sugar and watch my carbs I see a significant difference in my belly. I pretty much cut out all of my bread, rice and noodles, but stayed at roughly the same caloric intake and looked and felt much leaner through the mid-section.

Make your own if you can, but if you are on the run I really like the McDonalds SouthWest Grilled Chicken Salad. It has 320 calories, the dressing is another 100. Honestly I only use half the dressing and it is plenty. The salad is so flavorful I do not think you will miss the dressing at all.

I have been contemplating the same thing, but I'm a little overwhelmed by the choices. I'm eager to see what suggestions are made.

My mother in-law has used them in lasagna and she has also used them for the noodles in her chicken and dumplings.

How sad, but really school food is just a very small part of childhood obesity. Little to no pe or recess, foods that lacks little to any nutritional value at school, tons of sugary snacks at home, too much fast food as a dinner options and then sitting in front of a tv or handheld game are all contributing factors. It all…

I do not know if it is true or not but I have always heard you tend to retain more water when your body is not accustomed to being properly hydrated. I have personally noticed that now that I consistently drink 64+oz a day that I do not have so much retention (bloating) and I'm not running to the bathroom every 5 minutes.…

Tatorbug...how long did you need to grill it? Its like a billion degrees in Ga right now, so baking is out, but I would love to try to grill it like you did. How low was your temp? Thanks,
-
Thank you all so much, I knew you guys would have some great ideas. Leasa

I have friends that have used it and yes it worked for them, but all they wanted was a quick fix and that is what they got. They lost and gained nearly as quickly however a year after my 3rd child was born and I still was carrying an extra 10-12 lbs I went to the same bariatric doctor and learned that the Adipex is just a…

You are preaching to the choir....I have three little girls and none of them eat as I had hoped they would. I stressed more about it with my first daughter then a little less with my second and now that my last daughter is 4 I worry even less. Here is where I am with my girls, I do not buy junk except for special…

I tried the Southwest salad (grilled version) at McDonalds and it is really good and quite filling. The salad is 320 calories the dressing adds another 100, but honestly I only used about half of mine and it was plenty.

Heathersmilz, can you tell me what brand your sister bought for 117 cal?
-
I have been buying it for a couple of months now and LOVE it! I made some wholewheat pancakes last weekend with it and you would never know the difference. My favorite breakfast right now is Fiber One Honey Clusters and the almond milk.
-
THanks to all...I guess I need to head back to the doctor about this.
-
How about broccoli slaw? I make it with equal parts of low fat mayo and vinegar and it is wonderful. My husband cannot stand broccoli, but will readily eat this.
-
Im the same way, Im just now after 6 months getting a better grip on the this. Now my challenge is the weekend! A few things that have worked for me are ones that have been noted already....I do not buy things I know I will eat, chips, crackers, baked goods that is key for me. I have 3 small children and I used to think it…

Fiber One Honey Clusters are my favorite. A single serving is low in cals, high in fiber and it is actually sweet, so it feels like a treat.

Im sure folks with far more knowledge about this will chime in but I would think it would certainly help, how much I just do not know. Here is what I do know....mushrooms really absorb moisture that is why you really are not even supposed to wash the fresh ones, just brush them off. The other thing I know is my friend has…

We love to grill this time of year, it makes even a plain old turkey dog taste different. One of my new favorites is a chicken/spinach/asiago cheese sausage from Sam's club. It is wonderful grilled and only 110 calories. I make up some low cal coleslaw and I have a quick, easy, low cal meal. Breakfast is always a winner,…
