If you weren't tracking your calories before, you may be eating more than before while drinking less. 1000 calories of food is almost certainly more nutritious than 1000 calories of beer (which, by the way, is a heck of a lot of beer to be drinking daily).

I'd go back to the doctor.

I eat microwave breakfast burritos. 1 minute, 30 seconds. 270 calories and it keeps me feeling pretty good for at least a few hours.

Do you know who really has it tough? People who don't have control of what or how much they eat. ;) Everyone else is making food choices several times a day. My Stress Management teacher was on a lecture about stress, health, causes of death, and eventually got around to the not-popular idea that people choose to be…

I'd just use a little bit of iodized salt on foods that could use it. I like it on potatoes, but they are also high in potassium so maybe that is a helpful pairing?

I've been eating (precooked) mussels once or twice a week. Extremely high in protein. The only problem is that my 6 year old takes as many as he can, I have to be quick to get some for myself!

I've experienced fat flushing out of my system. Just try getting your gallbladder out and eating a whole bag of potato chips.

If you were to literally starve someone who is obese, they could die before becoming thin. Not all bodily functions run on calories alone and you will strip from your muscles and organs (like your heart and liver) to feed those processes.

I drink green smoothies to increase my fruit/veg intake. One serving of 'power greens', sometimes a carrot, frozen berries, maybe a banana, and some (usually a half-serving) nuts/seeds. Then I use black coffee as my mixing liquid, haha. Using enough fruit is the key to making it taste decent.

Cut back drastically, burn off muscle, run out of self-control, get even fatter because of reduced muscle mass, see you next summer?

Health-wise and regarding attractiveness, the ideal waist-hip ratio for a woman is around 0.7. You can have that ratio at 115 lbs or 215 lbs. There has even been stuff done saying the WHR is an independent predictor of several health-related outcomes. Within the American definition of beauty, the ideal weight has fallen…

The Greeks were obsessed with dudes. They not only 'own' the roots of the word misogyny, one of their basic creation myths insisted all of the evil in the world was brought about from Pandora's "box" (also translated jar, and possibly referring to her genitals/womb). Possibly supporting evidence is that no female Greek…

I'm eating microwave breakfast burritos pretty much every day, lol. One is 270 calories but I think the higher amount of fat really helps me. I had a crazy day yesterday and didn't get to eat from 7:30 until close to 2. No way could I make it that long without cravings if I had cereal. It just doesn't keep me going.

I don't do activities very often. I know I at least should aim for some intensity minutes but I haven't really been feeling up to it. I do log all of my food though. I'm close to 140 days.

I eat 30-40% of my calories from fat and I'm at my high school weight again.

I've been wondering if the muscles are just too long from being stretched out. I'm at my high school weight but this is not my high school body. It's not that I want to have visible abs, I just don't want my belly to stick out so far. If I could 'tighten an inner corset', the small bit of fat I have on top wouldn't look…

I was diagnosed with PCOS at 19 after being hospitalized with a ruptured and infected ovarian cyst. I had hot flashes, very irregular cycles, ect, but I wasn't overweight. The doctor put me on Metformin, which didn't help me. Reducing my dairy helped a lot. Now I'm moderately lactose intolerant (I can have cheese but no…

Seriously, gaining a lot of weight very quickly can signal organ failure.

Maybe you should be in a doctor's office instead of here.

If you're overweight in the military they do a tape test. You can find calculators online to estimate body fat that way. I would imagine you aren't as muscular as you were in the service.

If you're getting the same exact number, there is probably an issue with your scale. It is probably accurate enough but not precise or it is pulling the number out of memory because your weight hasn't changed enough. You still need a food scale though. Packaged food must be at least 99% of what the label says, meaning if a…

Cut off an arm? If your profile picture is recent, there is no way you're going to be able to lose 2 lb of fat per week. If you attempt a very large deficit to lose at that speed, you're going to be burning off muscle too, which would make you look worse in the long run.

There's a difference between being able to see your rib cage and having prominent indentations between individual ribs. The difference can be seen if you look up pictures of a healthy weight dog.

I would guess that basic tasks burn fewer calories now. I wasn't concieved yet in 1988 but I remember more things being manual (windows, locks, ect). We didn't have a dishwasher. None of these self-propelled lawn mowers. I don't know when most people would have had a microwave.

I didn't have a scale when I was on Depo and gained like 20 lbs. I'd never had any issue with my weight before so I guess it must have done a number on my hunger levels.

I quit Facebook a year and a half ago. I have Twitter to follow political stuff, I don't post.

Making vegetables half of what you eat can help curb the number of calories. Most places have salads. Having it as an appetizer or a side can help you fill your stomach. If you can take leftovers back to where you're staying, you can cut your meal in half. If you can't, maybe split something with someone else at your table.

Nuts and seeds are full of good fats and minerals that may be hard to get through other foods. They need to be weighed though because they are very calorie dense. Eating your fats with your vegetables helps you body absorb vitamins A, D, E, and K.

I had my gallbladder out 2 years ago. I've actually managed to increase my fat to 35% of my calories (at maintenance). Everyone reacts a bit differently but the surgery doesn't guarantee you have to be low-fat forever.
