I am/was pretty much in the same boat as you. I'm 5'10", at my worst I was 270, but 40 weeks ago I was at 230, and today 180. You are looking to cut the same in half the time, so I wish you luck, but if you stick with it, don't fall off the wagon, and dedicate yourself to it, you'll get there. First and foremost, the diet…

I really appreciate everyone's insight so far, and I think maybe if I describe my situation a bit more, it can help narrow it down. My confidence with my body and image is probably at an all time high. I have been boxing for the past 3 years (similarly to lifting heavy things... knowing I can go several rounds with some…

Fake it until you aren't faking seems to be the common trend, and I can see how it will work. One issue with that though, I can foresee faking it coming across as arrogance/cockiness rather then confidence. Wouldn't that put a negative spin on gaining the confidence? Or in the grand scheme, does it really even matter?

I know each gym has their own punch numbering method, so I'll explain this a bit first so it hopefully makes sense. Jab (left) = 1 and Straight (right) = 2 (so if you are a southpaw, reverse the hands). Spirnts are nonstop 1s and 2s alternating back and forth (1,2,1,2,1,2,....). Generally, from the start of the round, you…

I find that nothing builds arm endurance more then working the heavy bag. To help build endurance, I'll spend a full round working just jabs in single, double and triples. Second round just working the straight. Third is non stop sprints. By the end of the third, I can barely hold my arms up. After that, just keep working…

Finally nice to see there are others out there! I want to get to the point where I can be successful in an amature match, and in so, I'm trying to lose a bunch more weight and get in way better shape.

38" belt was getting too loose... bought a 36" belt and already on the last hole... Should have actually tried it on first, but a NSV for sure!

Name: David Age: 25 SW: 230 CW: 210 GW: 180 About yourself: I'm from Calgary, AB, and about 2 years ago I was topping the scales at 275. I started boxing, and slowly got down to 240ish. I then plateaued. A co-worker showed me MFP, and since then I've been steadily dropping weight. My goal is to get to 180 (or lower…

I train boxing and ever since I got my first shoes, I haven't looked back. They are smooth bottoms like wrestling shoes, yet provide tons of grip & ankle support when striking and moving.

If you are not getting adequate hours of sleep due to such a busy schedule, your body could be storing more then its expending in your works outs. Most likely though it is just you are gaining muscle mass.

One of the secondary reasons why I'm on MFP... I Hate being single and need to get the confident body to go with the confident mind.

25 here! I am like most on here, I've weighed over 200lbs since elementary school. 2 years ago I hit my worst at 275. Last year I slowly lost weight but plateaued at 245. I recently joined MFP and have since got down to 215 with my goal of 180 in sight. Add me if you'd like as I'm always up for more support and will do the…
