Not sure on that, I just started logging calories from strength training today - I just add it as cardiovascular, I searched for it, input my time -- it gave me 310 calories for 75 minutes, which is cool, I'd kind of rather underestimate it myself (I feel like with the exertion level I was very likely higher than that).

Great results, keep 'em coming!

I've been doing single leg calf presses using the leg press station lately. Doing those at 350 pounds is actually more challenging, burns more, and is easier to set up than the 800+ pounds I used to set up for doing both legs simultaneously!
-
I like to mix them up, personally, but I definitely work more on the elliptical than the treadmill - too much running really sores out my ankles! If you are working hard enough, either one is plenty adequate, I would say.

What I try to do to even out side dominance a bit is include some exercises that isolate each side, like dumbbell curls and whatnot, and I'll start with the weaker side, do what I can there, and use that as my limit for the other side.

So far through my twenties.. --I have more energy and endurance these days than I ever have before, mainly because I make it a point to keep moving. --I am by far in the best shape of my life thanks to the above. --Excess weight has not been as easy to take off as it was when I was 21 and dropped quickly from 220lbs to…

I haven't had to worry about holiday or Valentine's presents for a significant other since 2005.. they've all avoided the holidays (and my birthday) since then! That said, I'm probably not buying much of anything for anyone. I'm ridiculously close to broke currently.

Do incline and flat bench both. I'm a believer in not neglecting anything if it can be helped, haha.

Likely the muscles retaining some water, usually there will be a small initial weight gain. You can gain weight exercising though if you focus your eating and exercise towards weight gain, I've actually gone from 159 to ~180 since April, lol.

I remember my symptoms and the ramp up to my own hospitalization. My own symptoms started early in February this year, and after two weeks I called to get an appointment; I think by the time I saw my GP, it'd been 4-5 weeks; they wanted to get me in April 20 for a colonoscopy. I made it until April 9th before the symptoms…

I've never even done hot yoga but I have sweat a TON every time I've done yoga. Never been sore as a result of yoga, but it definitely improves flexibility and muscle tone. I can't speak much for boredom of it though, as in my experiences with it, I've always been fighting to perfect the forms (the more advanced ones can…

Quickly closing the gap with 28 and I won't turn down an add unless I think it's spam, so add away!

Very pertinent bit here, and I can personally attest to this as I gained a substantial amount of strength all around in 2011, during which I was mostly working in slight deficits.
-
Huge deficits maintained over too long of a time frame could leave your body turning to other sources for energy - it'll use some of the stored fats while it can, but with too many byproducts of fat metabolism in the blood stream, the body will then turn to muscle for energy.. definitely not a desired thing! You probably…

Glad someone caught the 250 calories in 4 minutes slip-up - that level is probably beyond impossible! That being said though, I once did 800 via doing eight sets of 100, don't recall the time frame but it was maybe 15-20 minutes. I don't really recommend that unless you are wearing proper footwear though because the…

Pretty much from what I've read, the fat cell is always there, but with fat loss the stored energy and most of the water are removed from the cell and it essentially deflates. In muscle building, IIRC (it's been a while since I refreshed my mind), we have a pretty set amount of muscle fibers in each muscle and whatnot, but…

You guys look fantastic! Now just keep up the fitness!

I recently managed to two-rep 50lb dumbbells on standing bicep curls (no body momentum), lol.. that was pretty much post-workout and messing around though. Nothing particularly noteworthy otherwise although I am getting back into somewhat of a groove with high intensity cardio.
-
I'm a dude and have no real point of reference, but thought I would butt in just a bit and reassure anyone doing both squat and leg press to not be alarmed about a leg press being well ahead of squat - I have never one rep maxed on squat or leg press but my 12 rep max on leg press is slightly under 3x my 12 rep max on…

You will be blown away with what you'll end up seeing if you add in some strength training (don't be afraid to go heavy either) and just focus on eating cleanly - I'd say you're at a great starting point for that and your confidence will soar!
-
I've only recently added some planks to my routines, I really like them but I like to have a partner to plank with so they can add on some weights ^_^
-
My latest dedicated cardio session overall was broken down into three 10 minute elliptical bursts, each preceding a three minute treadmill burst (I kept the last to two minutes, though).

I have a weighted vest (up to 60lbs), they are amazing for push ups, pull ups, calisthenics in general. I've used 20lbs on P90X's Plyometrics before, that was a wicked burn! Push ups and especially pull ups become a lot more difficult with the vest, but your ability to do them vest-free will increase enormously also! I'm…

I have attended the local Gold's gym since January, myself. Pretty solid establishment in general. I pretty much avoid going during the busiest hours though because you can be stuck waiting for a while for whatever weights you want to do. Only one decent squat rack too, which kind of sucks, but it's better than what I've…

I like the digital scales for weighing, but I find they definitely do not measure my body fat accurately - it's probably because virtually all of mine is located in the lower abdomen/back area. I have a pretty solid four-pack going now and mine still says I'm around 19% body fat >_>
-
That sounds INSANE! I used to go to Planet Fitness in 2011, I didn't mind it but I once got reprimanded for setting down a 65lb dumbbell a bit more loudly than absolutely necessary. I would never go to a gym that didn't have free weights or banned sleeveless shirts. I like to work out in a tank top so I can see more of…

I've maxed at 27 chins and I think 22-23 each on pull ups and neutral grip pull ups.

I recommend trying Truvia/Stevia. I used to have minor issues with some of the artificial sweeteners, moreso Xylitol, but for being as low-calorie as it is, I've found these really hard to go wrong with.

I am lucky enough to have a fairly mild case of UC - I eat pretty much whatever I want, although if I go more than 2-3 days in a row eating more than a couple servings of fibrous vegetables, it can have adverse effects, to an extent at least. I am on Asacol HD 800mg twice daily. I have a few Canasa on hand but they are…

I think it's good to have a mix of both, personally. I have to admit though, my routine is right along the same lines as yours, except I find myself not hitting cardio most days, and instead throwing in a cardio day where I'll do 30-40 minutes. As long as you're doing at least some of both and as long as results are…
