  • Oh my goodness...I am not the only one! The first time I remember it happening, was when I was about 14 and I asked my dad to go to the shop to get me chocolate and some horrendous hour! Sadly it hasn't stopped, until I went sugar free! I am so pleased someone else admits to eating sweet stuff for breakfast, lunch and…
  • I am completely sugar free, having been (still am - who am I kidding!!) a chocoholic!!! I could probably consume as much as you put in front of me. I have previously done 6 months sugar free (including processed foods etc) and lost 4.5 stone. having now recovered from a serious injury, I have been sugar free for 11 days. I…
  • I do quite a lot of travel for work, for instance I have a 3 day residential in a hotel at the end of the month. I am not sure how much choice there will be, but I plan to make the best choice with what is available. If that means smaller portions then I will do that. A couple of tools I use: 1. If you cannot weigh or…
  • Matt Roberts home workout (book - easy to get on Ebay), Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred and Insanity DVD - I got mine on gumtree for £25. I also do Pilates at a studio which is awesome for core strength & will work on your tummy from the insight muscles out. Most of all have fun and do something YOU enjoy the most...that way…
  • Earlier this year, I used to wake up wet through (as if I had just jumped ut of the shower and straight into bed.) After googling and getting lots of ',nasties' I went and had bloods checked - and it was my iron levels. As soon as I started iron supps, I was fine within 3-5 days. Worth a try.
  • Thank you for the responses. This all started (with sciatic pain) at the beginning of June. I am currently on the following meds: 3 x 2mg diazepam, 10 - 12 x 30mg dihydro-codeine, 3 x 500mg ibuprofen and 8 x 500mg paracetamol. With that I can only just manage the pain. Both the doctors locally don't seem to be interested…
  • Huge hugs from Sunny Scotland {{{}}} would love to live nearer and go out for a celebratory hike and a coffee! Thanks for intending on sticking around because I know that you would be missed by many!
  • A couple of things prompted my change (which may I add is still very much ongoing and had its superb days, along with it's terrible days). In 2011 my dad died from cancer and despite 10 years or so of reasonable living, it was the years before when he smoked and rank too much, that ultimately led to the cancer. That…
  • I started out at 245lbs, and have set my goals weight at 125lbs...I will see when I get there, but I think there are many contributing factors to not being a weight you used to be - age, type of exercise, diet, body goals, whether you've had children..... I am excited at seeing the new me unfold.
  • I have always been very susceptible to gaining weight from the pill. That is until I was moved onto Cerazette - zero weight gain, mood swings and now, no periods! Obviously we are all wonderfully unique, so it may not work that way for you. That said, if you have not tried it, it may be worth trying. All the best. x
  • I use James Duigan's Clean and Lean programme, which advocates one free meal per week. Not really determined by calories, just an opportunity to thoroughly enjoy your favourite meal / treat without guilt. The main considerations are: 1. Enjoy then best....for instance if you love pasta carbonara, then don't get a ready…
  • Lots of great ideas: 1. berry smoothie [200ml greek yogurt, 100ml coconut water, 2 tbsp unsweetened coconut flakes, 3 tbsp blueberries, 1tsp cinammon) 2. Proteinpancakes - if you can stand cooked egg [50gm oats, 100gm cottage cheese, 2 eggs, 1 tsp cinammon] , blend, cook 2 mins each side and serve with 1 tbsp maple syrup…
  • I follow James Duigan Clean and Lean - no processed foods or refined sugar. Typically lots of lean protein and veggies. His cookbook, helped as it gave me lots of ideas when I got to the boredom threshold!!
  • I am 5' 3", started out at 245lbs, now I am 200lbs, target goal by March 2014 is 125lbs.
  • Read James Duigan's Clean and Lean - I used to have several (ok 7-10 chocolate bars / sweet things) every day, and I am not talking small sizes. I have since lost 46lbs using his nutritional plan, essentially removing: C - Caffiene (I still have tea and 1 coffee a day) R - Refined Sugar - (to satisfy sweet tooth I have…
  • Absolutely! I have lost 46lbs and can barely see a difference. I went back to my family town this weekend and received so many compliments, along side being featured in a group for weight loss success. I have gone from UK size 22 to size 14/16 and cannot see a difference. My solution, surround yourself with people you…
  • Beautiful and what fabulous curves!! You could end up going on my vision board (not in a freaky way, I completely and utterly promise!!). What height are you? Love to hear more about how you achieved it and how long it took. I am 46lbs down, another 74lbs to go.
  • I have lost 45lbs in the last 9 months. To be honest, i got distracted by all the different programs, so i started to use common sense and build something that suited my surroundings, finances and tastes. Nutritionally i ate clean - no processed foods, refined sugar, alcohol. Essentially my diet is 99% natural. Meat, fish,…
  • Sorry for those who asked I am a tiny 5' 3.5"
  • Thanks guys....you have no idea how delighted, excited and motivated I am to receive these compliments. I know I have mirror issues, but through sites like this and awesome people around me, I know I will get to goal and look awesome soon. Some tips I have learnt along the way: 1. we all know it but small meals frequently…
  • I have always struggles with water intake until recently. I now drink 3 litres a day (101 fl oz) 1. Flavour a jug of water with mint leaves, grapefruit, orange or lime slices, ginger root 2. Put water into a sports cap bottle - I use a 750ml bottle and constantly sip, I go through 2 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon. I…
  • Suzi, that's awesome! Nearly there. I have 15lbs more to go to reach the half way stage...then another 60lbs to go!
  • Absolutely. I started in January. In Jan I lost no weight, however from photos there was a huge change in my abdomen. Last year I was diagnosed with hyper mobility and had to stop running, Pilates helps strengthen and stretch out my body. I do it alongside a marathon power walk programme and weights. Love it. Word of…
  • I try to have one free meal a week which includes chocolate for dessert (I usually get lindt, thorntons or hotel chocolat). If however I crave chocolate any other time I have 1 tsp bornville cocoa powder in hot water with a drop of milk. I have heard of other people also putting it in greek yogurt etc.
  • I don't think you lose weight at a different rate, however (as an hourglass), I have read we tend to gain and lose weight more evenly. That said, with the right work out, I am sure all body shapes can adjust accordingly. My stats are 46 / 34 / 47. Now here's to getting them 10 inch lower!! Therein lies the challenge!
  • Completely understand your thoughts. I started at 245lbs, UK 22, now I am 202lbs, UK 16. I honestly can't see a difference and thought that once I had achieved a 16 I would be happy! Now, more than ever, I am committed to uncovering my abs and having a strong body.
  • I am cutting out refined sugar (includes bread, pasta, cakes, biscuits), processed foods and alcohol. Essentially, my diet is lean meats, fruits and veggies. Lots of water and minimal caffiene. I did it dilligently for 4 months, then slipped. Now I am back at it. I noticed within a couple of weeks people complimented me on…
  • I am a complete chocoholic. I have worked the following into my plan: 1. Most recently I have found a lovely dark chocolate that comes in mini bars - sometimes I have half a bar, around 70 calories, or a whole one if I have enough cals left. 2. Bornville Cocoa Powder has no sugar in it, 100% pure cocoa. I use 8gm, which is…
  • I am 37. Started on MFP on 1st August with 118lbs to lose. I am 33lbs down, so 85lbs to go. I have just had 1 month where things have almost stopped, so as of this morning I have reassessed my plan. 1100 calories, clean and lean foods, increase in protein and change to workouts. Happy to accept new friends to support each…
  • I regularly eat between 1000 - 1200. My diet is mostly made up of veg, fruit and protein. I feel super and have lost weight and inches. Have gone from UK 22 dress to UK16. Still a long way to go, but yes you can survive!
