  • I have one 'free' meal each week ....I have found that the stricter I become during the week, the less I consume on my free meal. However I am always over my cals on a free meal day, with the remainder of the week, around 900-1200 calories a day. Make sure you drink water...my weight loss almost stops when I stop water…
  • I do 6 days a week, coupled with 1 hour Pilates and additional cardio (only 5-15 minutes) of rowing / cycling after the 30 DS. So far feeling much more toned. 2nd day of level 2!
  • I am on day 3! I paid £6 via Ebay and it has been well worth it. Don't need a great deal of equipment (mat or towel will do and dumbells). After 3 days, I hurt and sincerely hope it is doing something. My body feels tighter and I feel fitter, even after only 3 days. Definitely worthwhile.
  • I am getting rid of them as I go. Currently gone from size 22 to 16 (I can even get into a 14 :). I fear that if I keep them I have not made a commitment never to go back to my old lifestyle. Essentially for me, getting rid of them is leaving my past behind and looking forward to a new future.
  • Such an amazing achievement - well done. I started out at 240lbs (233lbs on MFP) at only 5ft 2in! I have lost 32lbs and my goals is a further 86.5lbs. Your post is a great encouragement to the change I will see. Already i have gone from UK 22 to UK 16. Have a super Christmas and hope you have a healthy 2013.
  • Absolutely!!! I have gone from size 22 to size 16 and still end up looking at size 20+. I cannot see a difference at all, however the tape measure, scales and clothes size tell a totally different story. My trick is to keep good friends around, so if I eventually go too thin, they can tell me to stop! I also think it is a…
  • My advice is to take photo's. I have lost 30lbs - I personally don't see a visual difference. However, I have gone down 3 dress sizes and get compliments all the time. Measurements have also gone down. Essentially it is a mix of your mindset as well as physical transformation.
  • My target is 20lbs by end of the year! I have had a shakey start to the beginning of November, but still hopeful!
  • Just tried a new one which is amazing - Sisley Gentle Facial Buffing Cream. My skin is quite sensitive and it works wonders. Stacks of comments when using and I would actually go outside bare faced after using their range!
  • The girls are the wrong girls for you! It is not about weight, it is about character, humour, love and friendship. If they cannot get past the outward size to have a genuine conversation, then my response is that you will find someone who loves you for who you are. Hubby loves me as much when I was a size 22 as I am now a…
  • I recently hit a plateau too - I have been at MFP since 1st August and about 4 weeks ago I stuck at the same weight for around 3 weeks (irrespective of what I did.) and even managed to gain a couple of pounds. I then began drinking a lot more water and all of a sudden things began to move, now I have lost the couple of…
  • I find this really tragic. I got married on my 19th birthday, next year we have been married 19 years. There are several things that spring to mind immediately - but most importantly the following has to be a commitment from both parties: - we always talk, communication is an absolute must. I am not saying this is easy, we…
  • Did a 10k on Sunday 7th October - 1hr 32m. Start a new training plan at the end of this week, to help me get to 1hr 14min by Christmas. Aiming for sub 1hr next year.
  • Hippo, crocodile, impala, zebra, giraffe, lots of interesting game meet - comes from living in kenya for 7 years. The best by far was Impala with redcurrent jus (loved that meal!!!)
  • I started a UK size 22, currently I am in an 18 (nearly 16 :). I have lost 22lbs in 9 weeks, with another 88lbs to go (ideally by 27th June 2013). All the best. Stay committed and one step at a time. I have mostly cut out wheat, and have completely cut out processed foods. I only have a sweet treat on a Saturday evening. I…
  • Awesome progress and one fabulous looking bod! Keep it up!
  • Hi I usually have the following: Breakfast: Scrambled egg / fruit veggies smoked salmon / fruit Lunch: lean meat and veggies (chicken, beef, salmon, tuna) Dinner: prawns and veggies fruit Feel free to take a look at my dairy. It has been a little off track for the last few days - emotional eating!!! But usually I am very…
  • I have just started jogging (slowly!). Here's some stats: Start weight: 233lbs (5'3") Current weight: 211lbs I started running in May - 18 minutes per mile (pace) June (beginning) - 16:22 mins / mile June (end) - 15.24 mins / mile I then had a back problem (not caused by running) I went back to running on 12th Sept…
  • thank you for such a fab statistic. Wow 22lbs down, another 88lbs to go...imagine how easily my body will function without all the extra miles of pumping blood!
  • I have lost 21lbs in 7 weeks - the first week was 7lbs. I eat completely clean and lean - dropped sugar, processed foods, sauces, breads, pasta - meals consist of scrambled eggs, fresh fish and meats with fruit and veggies. Once a week I have a lovely treat on a Saturday evening - usually a bag of luxury choccies! I have…
  • I follow a clean and lean diet Sunday through to Friday. On Saturday I have a free meal. I have found that as I have been so good during the week, I really cannot binge, but what I do enjoy is a bag of praline truffles. I am such a chocoholic, but I have found that if I control myself throughout the week I really enjoy my…
  • i got some carrot strips and low fat hummous prepacked the other day...lovely. Alternatively - apples, cottage cheese, fruit salad, yogurt.
  • So pleased to see your comment too. I was shocked by all the negative comments about the partner. Surely in life it is about working with each others habits, strengths, weaknesses and personality to go through life together. It is about honouring your partner and loving them for who they are. No wonder the divorce rate is…
  • First of all, I cannot understand some people on here who says it is none of of your partners business. Surely you are in life's journey together! (I have been married 18 years) That said, it is so important to your long terms health that you develop sustainable healthy habits. Have you thought of logging at a time when it…
  • hi I used to feel bloated, until I got rid of all processed foods - bread, pasta, cakes, biscuits, pizza, sushi. Feel free to have a look at my diary. I have 1 free meal a week and since my change, even that has been a challenge. One week we make home made pizza's and I could only stomach a 1/4. There is a huge difference…
  • Thanks for your post. I am doing a 10k in four weeks and I keep worrying about being last!! Your post helped a lot!
  • I have been in difficult situations over the last few years, with bouts of either me living in my parents house or the other way around. Up until now I have always been pressured into eating whatever they cook / fancy. All of the food is great, just my mum and dad should have cows they eat that much butter and cream!…
  • Hi I am on James Duigan clean and lean - FABULOUS! The benefits I have seen in four weeks: - 14lbs weight loss - many compliments on hair, skin, eyes, nail etc - positive shape change - no bloating or uncomfortable full feeling - nearly one dress size The meal plan is really easy. Essentially you ditch refined carbs,…
  • Hi Melissa I noticed your post regarding low carb / clean, which I do using James Duigan Clean and Lean - I am sure we are on a similar wave length, but what is Paleo? Essentially I eat clean, natural foods, omitting sugar, refined carbs and processed foods. On the plan I can have one free meal a week, which is proving…
  • Absolutely - I weigh everything. I know people say it is a bore, but I am so into using the scales as a habit, that it doesn't bother me. I hope through doing so, I can look over my diary and make any adjustments to ensure continued loss. Having said that I used to follow a food plan that used the size of your hand as a…
