I have a water bottle on my desk at work (or at home on the weekends). It is 24 ounces and I make sure that I drink three bottles a day. One on the way to work, one at work, and one on the way home. Believe me - it makes a world of difference.

Nope. My is strictly digestive, etc. Are you sure you don't have a milk allergy? I've heard a similar story from someone who did.

Kraft is a great source for health eating recipes and they really taste good, too!

Thanks - I needed to see this.

My son is a pharmacist - "normal" sodium intake is 2500 mg/day.

It all depends what you pick. Even McDonald's has healthy salads if you go with grilled chicken and use only 1/2 of the dressing. Portion control and choices. Century Grill has a lovely chicken dish that comes with lots of veggies.

I am an EA in Edmonton, and I plan a lot of events. There are a lot of great restaurants that are not chains. The DIsh and Spoon - proper portions and good food Century Grill Doan's - lots of vegetable dishes and you control the amount of rice/noodles you eat Blue Plate Diner - some vegetarian/gluten free options The Marc…

My dietitian and nurse have both advised me to eat carbs, protien, and veggies/fruit at each meal. I see that's missing in yours. If you want to friend me, go ahead and then you will see my diary. I had a check up with the dietitian last week and she reiterated the need for the combination of foods to aid in digestion and…

Turning 50 this year; diabetes diagnosis; feeling crappy all the time.

I am 6' tall and have a large frame. At my lightest I was 180 pounds and frankly I looked gaunt and quite sick. I plan to get to 200 pounds and see how it goes from there.

No, it regulates your blood sugars through the night and you won't wake up to a very low sugar rate - hence the ups and downs.

Hi there, I am on 1430 calories per day, but more importantly, approximately 170 net carbs per day (net carbs are carbs minus fibre). There are some days when I am more hungry than others. Yesterday was one of them. I think some of it is emotional because there are some days when I can't eat 1430 calories because I'm not…

I just look different! Even though it's only 12 pounds, my neck and face are thinner and my wedding rings fit again!! After reading everyone's replies, I understand why my shoes are a little looser than usual. It's all great!!

I walk for at least 20 minutes every lunch. I also have a resistant band at work and some exercises to do a couple of times a week.

I have Celiac Disease. I have no idea why someone without Celiac Disease would choose to go gluten free. It is a difficult diet to maintain and there are other health consequences. Please people, consult a doctor or a nutritionist before doing this if you don't have to!

I am losing 2 pounds per week with 1430 calories per day but more importantly I am also watching my sugars and my carbs. I eat between 40 and 60 carbs per meal. To calculate the net carbs, take total carbs and minus the fibre count. With 40-60 carbs per meal and a snack in between each one, along with 150 minutes of…

A sandwich: two pieces of brown gluten free bread; 1 tablespoon of sugar free/salt free peanut butter; one small banana. I am a creature of habit and eat this most every morning. It keeps me full most mornings until lunch. If not, have a piece of fruit around 10 am.

Cari, You are right. I am celiac and diabetic. I have seen a nurse, a kiniesiologist and a dietitian. The dietitian has stressed counting carbs - 45-60 per meal and 50 for a total for snacks. That along with 1430 calories seems to be doing it for me. I do feel better regulating my sugars by eating throughout the day. I am…

Thanks everyone! I went for my 30 minute walk and have just finished my lunch. I feel much better having your support. I think there may be a fat free chocolate pudding in my future!!!

I have celiac disease and have had it all of my life. The only way to determine whether you have celiac disease or a gluten intolerance is to have a small bowel biopsy. A positive test means you are celiac. Read what you can on the website of your national Celiac Association. They will have the most up to date information.…

Yeah, I don't have cheat days. I eat pretty much what I want within portion limits. And I also keep it within my maximums for the day.

Oooooh, breakfast is so important. The word breakfast is actually "break the fast". Your body needs some nourishment in the morning to get you going. Start with something you really like - fruit and yogurt; an egg and toast - and go from there. You will have more success evening out your food throughout the day than…

Focus, focus, focus. I just joined as well and I'm finding the weekends to be my most difficult time. That's when I'm around the house and I want to graze. That's usually when I will try to refocus and go for a walk, or grab something like a tomato and relish in the sweet deliciousness of it. (All the while trying not to…

Hi there! I am turning 50 in a couple of months. I have celiac disease (gluten allergy) and I'm working on getting healthier. My dietitian recommended MFP and I'm finding it very useful when tracking my carbs and exercise. Feel free to friend me.
