No one has said anything even remotely rude to you.
-
You're kidding, right?
-
Well, depending on whether you log your intake meticulously, you could also be overestimating how much you eat. Losing at that rate gives you a small deficit, probably somewhere around 400?
-
TDEE is an estimate. Yours is obviously higher than that.

Those people might want to contact some doctors or scientists because they are medical miracles.

Hey, I resemble that remark!

Did it tell you that you burn 1200 just sitting and breathing? If so, that is not your maintenance number.
-
I think that's entirely different.

I prefer grams because that's usually what's on a package and the usda datatbase uses them as well. So personally I'd return it. I do agree with the suggestion to get one with a tare function.

So over the past month, you've lost about 4-5 pounds? It sounds like you're doing just fine. You can eat anything you like within your calorie goal, just less of it. A lot of weight loss is trial and error, but you'll soon figure out which foods keep you full, which don't. Poke around on Pinterest or the recipe section…

Except no one here is diagnosing anyone and no one here is asking for help. So . . . not sure what your beef is?
-
Yes, our bodies are complex but they will not hold onto fat in a calorie deficit. This is why anorexics get thin and concentration camp victims starved to death. Usually when a person thinks they start eating "more" and lose weight, they've actually just become vigilant about logging.…

Geez, you just described my best friend from high school perfectly. The sad thing is, her treatment taught her that nothing was her fault, "her mother made her that way." We ended up parting ways and it broke my heart but there was nothing I could do, it was her choice. I did run into her a few years ago though, she was at…

Um, no one's body defies science. If you take in less than you burn you will lose weight. If you take in more, you will gain. If she is not losing, then she is not in a deficit. She has not lost weight since January. You simply don't undereat for 10 months and not lose any weight.
-
If she's not losing weight now, she certainly doesn't need to eat more.
-
If you weigh everything, why isn't it recorded that way in your diary? If you're not losing weight, you're not in a deficit and the most likely culprit is inaccurate logging.
-
Right? I still haven't forgiven my mother for all of those years of my childhood telling me that it must be well done.
-
My assumption when people ask this question is that they want to know "Can I eat imperfectly?" For many years, I have eaten what must be relatively healthy as I have perfect cholesterol and blood glucose numbers, I just ate too much of it. (In fact, just this week my doctor told me exactly that.) And for years, I thought I…

Oh noes! I must have that for sure.

I think that's due to poor dental hygiene and/or other factors. I have been drinking diet soda daily for at least a couple of decades and my teeth are fine.
-
I don't know what that is, but it sounds good!
-
This sounds good: food.com/recipe/skinny-margarita-358803

Diet soda is 99% water, so not getting enough wouldn't be an issue.
-
Diet soda is fine for most people. If you feel like it makes you crave sugar, then you might not want to drink it for that reason. I don't have that issue.
-
I guess I did miss it or you forgot to mention it. We're trying to help, there's no need to get angry about it.
-
But if you're eating back those inaccurate calories, you could be wiping out your deficit.
-
I believe you are correct. Her sarcasm is worthy of my admiration, because I love me some sarcasm. Well played, @Therealobi1 !

OK, clearly you are not understanding. It's a mythical boogey man. There are no toxins lurking in your body. Anything your body needs to rid itself of, it does so through bathroom visits and sweating and in an emergency, vomiting. You don't need a toxin test.
-
The questions asking about the toxins serve to illustrate the fact that no one ever answers that question. They don't know any specific toxins they are trying to eliminate, it's a just a vague term that sounds important.
