Coincidence.

Dill weed? Like the herb? It should be in the database.
-
I don't see the problem.

Oh, your sister doesn't throw that one at you? I used to work with a preachy vegan who was constantly telling us that eggs are "chicken periods."

No, it's really not. I think they probably expect you to read at least some of the label. I am allergic to penicillin, but I don't think they should stop giving it to other people, just to me. I looked at the lawsuit and I looked up mold allergies. It's apparently common knowledge that if you have a mold allergy then you…

I've been meaning to try mine on my Wii Fit to see if I can maybe squeeze in some steps while I watch TV. I'll try it tonight and let you know. I have a Zip also. It might work differently if you're stepping up and down.

Everyone else's point is that what you did is not magic in and of itself. Calories going in being less than calories going out is the only thing required for weight loss. What you did made that happen for you. But the "magic" is in the calorie deficit you achieved, not in the cutoff time, not in what you ate, not in…

Does your wife work outside the home and if so, is it an active job? If yes to both, it could be that she's just tired and doesn't want to work out with you. And honestly, she probably doesn't need to. I would love for my husband to walk with me but he regularly logs well over 10K steps at work. In fact, he usually has…

1200 is not "starvation mode." Repeating that it is does not make it so. Weight loss is only about calories. People use a wide variety of macro ratios and all seem to lose weight on their chosen path just fine. Even if someone were eating too little they would still lose weight and they most certainly won't gain. That's…

Hated every second of it and it ended in the consumption of an entire loaf of French bread. Your mileage may vary. Some people enjoy that typing of eating and it seems to work great for them.

Exactly. She could be on auto-pilot. "Oh, it's football season, Ralph needs his Oreos," not realizing that Ralph doesn't want his Oreos this year. I know I used to buy them all the time for my husband because they're his favorite. Then one day he said, "I eat too many of these, please don't buy me anymore unless I ask."…

You might be surprised to find that my TDEE without any exercise is 1600 calories. 1200 calories is not starvation for everyone.
-
So then, the more I consume, the smarter I get, right?

Vegetable soup. Make it from scratch and you can fill it with as many veggies as you like. You could also add rice or noodles if you want.

Unless you have a specific medical condition that you've not mentioned, this seems to be standard doctor advice when they advise patients to lose weight. I'd guess because counting calories is seen as "too complicated" so they tell you to cut down on something that will cause you to decrease your calories without keeping…

Unfortunately, this is not true in all states.

Then my advice would be to stop wasting your money on it. You can figure out your calorie goal here and budget a bit of sweets in there. For free!

Most people wouldn't even come close to drinking enough excess to cause concern.

Something being not good for you doesn't equal it being bad for you. We really don't need to force ourselves to drink extra fluid. We get fluid in the form of everything we eat and drink. nytimes.com/2015/08/25/upshot/no-you-do-not-have-to-drink-8-glasses-of-water-a-day.html?_r=1

Another great article about the water myth that just won't die: nytimes.com/2015/08/25/upshot/no-you-do-not-have-to-drink-8-glasses-of-water-a-day.html?_r=1

If the entry for a fruit or vegetable doesn't have a grams option, look for a different one. And for things like meat, fruits and vegetables, you can put usda in your search and that will usually get you an accurate entry for that food. ETA: I see that @malibu927 beat me to it! GMTA!

The HCG doesn't actually do anything. It's an expensive placebo to trick you into thinking you're not hungry on 500 calories a day.
-
Are you hungry or just bored? If you're hungry, then eat something.
-
Same. I know most people aren't fans of the lowfat diet but I actually did extremely well on it back in the day. (I also did it before the plethora of low fat processed foods that flooded the shelves.)

Unless you have a medical reason to moderate your carbs, there is no reason to limit your sugar from fruit. There will be some who tell you that you should, I respectfully suggest that you ignore such advice. If you are restricting your calories, the sugar will not "turn into fat."

I never get these. I am starting to feel offended/unattractive.
-
Sorry, tough love is frowned upon here. Coddling is de rigeur.
-
Good point!

Yeah, 27 pounds is completely normal. There's a baby in there, a placenta, amniotic fluid, more fluid in your body in general. I wouldn't be surprised if you were back to your pre-pregnancy weight within a week or two.
-
Ah yes, good point. Choosing 2 lb/week does not get me a 1000 calorie deficit because I am vertically challenged. :/
