It is a little tough sometimes unless it is cooked.

I'm a true believer you should never try to make yourself eat foods you don't like. For me, it's sauerkraut, liver and onions, and pork chops. :)

Seriously, find foods you do like and eat those.

    Yum, yum and yum

    retracts supper invitation ;)

OP kale has calories, why waste calories on food you don't like ...it's not magic

Do you like dark green veg? Can you have savoy cabbage or Brussels sprouts instead? I love kale. I addva splash of water and steam in the microwave - no oil butter or dressing. I hate greasy veg!

In the UK kale is fodder for cows lol - give me a huge helping of Brussel sprouts any day :)

I love kale! Two things that seem to help with others (like my family and guests): (1) Mature kale - steam it rather than eating it raw. (2) Baby kale - it's like baby spinach, soft and almost sweet, and I've looked it up and it has the same nutrients. You can throw it into your salad!

I think this is going to be a weekend soup at our house. I have most of the ingredients and the nutritional values are awesome. Thanks Roda.

I love it but it causes bloating!

If you don't like kale, don't eat it. Romaine lettuce is also packed with vitamin A, just sayin'...

I personally love kale and prefer it pan braised with garlic and red pepper flakes and just a pinch of nutmeg. I also like it in soup.

Lots of good recipes for kale on this thread :)

A note on buying kale - I've found the pre-chopped bags of kale tough to the point of inedibility.

Look for: kale with dark bunches that have small to medium leaves.

Avoid: kale that's wilted or with brown or yellow leaves.

Every time I've tried kale I've thought it was nasty. I much prefer spinach and other greens and get all the vitamins and nutrients I need without having to suffer through food I don't like just because it is "super".

I buy frozen. Last night, I threw a couple cups in a spritz of garlic olive oil, sautéed and the added .5 servings of quinoa and then eggs and egg whites. Finally, cheese. Yum!!!!
