When you say you get stuck at week 3, what do you mean? good luck with your plan, just be careful about eating "fad" stuff. If you can't eat like the plan for the rest of your life you could be facing a weight gain once you get off of it. Plain old calorie reduction with exercise works for everyone.

when I don't know how many calories are in something baked like that I usually go for the worst case scenario. This way I feel guilty about eating junk food and I'm not tempted to have seconds. Also up to this point it just gives me a bigger deficit in my daily calories

It is hard when you don't have the full support of your family. Some night when the kids have gone to bed, sit down and talk to him, let him know how important this is for you and how you would like a little support. Or just don't try to screw up what you have accomplished. Don't let your feelings stay bottled up, it isn't…

Look at what you are eating and change it up a bit. Perhaps a slight carb reduction and more lean protein can help you get over the hump and moving again. Nothing to faddish just try to change things up a bit. Change your workout routine a bit also, your body could be getting use to the workload and it just isn't working…

I lost 60 lbs from 11/1/2010 till today. I used calorie reduction and a lot of workouts. As mentioned the closer you are to your goal weight the harder it is to lose, but you can do it. Good Luck

10 lbs in 4 weeks is not impossible using calorie reduction. Low to no protein can lose you 20 to 25 lbs in a month, but only after the 4 day phase in. If you really want to go that route bump the post or let me know and I'll give you the rules. I did that once and had to fight back to lose the 60 lbs out of 75 that I…

That is why I weigh myself every day, especially when I started, I would lose 1/2 to 1 lb per day. If I overdid it I would see that and really hunker down and be strict on myself. Now that I'm close to the end of my loss it is a bit counter productive since I've slowed to loosing a lb about every 2 to 3 days, and today…

If you can do a 5K you should be able to handle a 7K. Try once a week running that 7K distance for a workout. You may have to initially drop your pace a bit but it will be OK Good Work, now off to the 10K :)

Protein shakes are not replacements for actual food. Eat something good and leave the shake for a mid day snack or post workout recovery. Some protein shakes have an absolute ton of calories but some are pretty good. I have used ON, Pro Complex it contains 270 calories with 60g of protein. It is one of the best artificial…

Try some foods that are high calorie and also good for you. Almonds, whole wheat pasta, brown rice. It is important not to eat too little. You should also try to eat 5 or 6 small meals each day. I know for myself spreading out the meals keeps me going and it is easier to keep the calories in check because I'm never…

It happens, just put it behind you and do better tomorrow. Don't think about it, go about your day eat a healthy diner and start from fresh tomorrow.

9.5 mph is hauling, you will burn a ton of calories doing that. With a HRM I average 6mph and can burn 600+ calories in 40 minutes so I'd say that is pretty close. Nothing beats running for calories burned, you are doing great.

My wife threatened me if I did get her something, been like that for the 11 years we have been married, I found a good one.

Everything in moderation. Current thinking is that you don't have to eat twice or three times you normal calories to support a growing baby. Just because she is craving a certain food doesn't mean that she needs to eat crap. Sit down with her doctor on her next visit and talk to him/her about this. It isn't worth getting…

Start to honestly log everything you eat, every bite. If you're not sure about somethings calories then estimate high.. This will give you a good idea of what you consume. Try to get out and exercise, even once a week. Fill out the information in the GOAL section of this site. You will see results, you will lose weight.…

Just hunker down and get through today clean. You need that every once in a while, try heading to the gym to distract you and get your mind right. It happens to all of us, it is what happens the next day that will define your weight loss journey.

You have to be happy with yourself, I know it is a cultural thing, but you probably should try to get to a weight in the "normal" range. Ask your doctor when you get to a weight you can sustain and are happy with. You may like the way you look but still be at risk for future health problems. Good Luck

Over the last 3 years you certainly learned what you should and shouldn't eat. Do the best you can, overestimate the calories you eat and enjoy yourself. Even if you put a pound or two on you have the tools to recover quickly from that. You can do it!

It is a range for a reason, above or below the range and you run a greater risk for health problems. It isn't perfect. For me their is a 50 lb range I can work with. Their is no way that the lower end of that scale is something I would want. I'm currently shooting for the top of the scale and we'll see once I get there.

Become a food detective, you will have to read every label, sugar is hidden everywhere. To cut the cravings go for natural sugars found in fruit. Many "healthy foods" add sugar. While sugar adds calories, sugar substitutes are not the way to go either. Try to find some foods low in added sugar, no corn syrup etc.

I'm in the same boat but my family could stand to eat better. Everyone can eat better, slim or not McDonalds is mostly evil. Hang in there and be the good example. Good Luck

Do your homework BEFORE going out. So many places serve absolute junk, you have to be super careful. You can eat out, just have to educate yourself first. A little homework will stop a lot of guilt and stress.

Almost anything would be of benefit. When you loose weight you also loose some muscle, this can be slowed by exercise. Many people hate to exercise, however the benefits are huge. Do what you can to do something, Yoga, stretching, weight / resistance training, cardio. You will feel better and have better results. Lots of…

Low carb diets work...sort of. A few years back I was 268 lbs at 5'10" I went on a diet very similar to South Beach and lost a ton of weight (around 80 lbs). That diet was unsustainable for me and when I stopped it weight crept back till I was 10 lbs shy of my original weight. This time around all I did was exercise and…

Strength training in women does not add bulk. Even in men strength training the abs only firms and adds slight size. You can do crunches till your blue in the face and be fine. Building muscle while losing weight is almost impossible, you can tone, strengthen but you won't add bulk.

If your actively trying to lose weight then it may be your diet. Your glycogen stores need to be full. Carbohydrates fill that need. If your really pushing you may just be out of fuel. Try looking over http://www.coolrunning.com/index.shtml lots of good info on that site Good luck with the run.

You would have had to eat an excess of 10,000 calories for it to be fat and you can not put that much muscle on in one day so it is water. tomorrow will probably be different. Don't worry about it

Living in Northern Illinois (and not wanting to break my leg falling on the ice) I do all of my winter running on a treadmill. Aside from the boredom I feel the treadmill keeps me at pace longer. You have to run outside but the treadmill will not hurt and might even help build up speed. I'm not a professional trainer, just…
