Love my Polar FT40. Does a resting heart rate test to increase accuracy and track fitness.

If you really want an accurate calorie burn, it may be worth investing in a heart rate monitor. I love my Polar FT40. The most accurate ones have a chest strap you wear, but there are wrist only models.

As the weather is getting nicer, going to the gym after work is harder - I want to play with my kids outside instead. SO, I just bought 30 Day Shred and I'm planning to do it every morning (waiting for it to arrive). I've been reluctant to go to the gym before work, especially with the extra time it adds driving there and…

A gym with childcare for a monthly flat rate!! Couldn't do it without that!

I try to grill over the weekend and make sure to make extra chicken breasts etc for the week. But in a pinch, Jennie-O makes frozen turkey burgers that are really thin, so they grill up from frozen in 4 minutes per side. Throw them on a Deli Flat and it's a really lo cal quick dinner.

Fiber One Caramel Delight is similar to Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Lots of sugar, so I tend to have it if I need something sweet as opposed to breakfast, but it has lots of fiber.

I LOVE my Polar FT40. And you can swim with it. Most Polars are waterproof, I believe. If you are looking for accuracy, you need one with a chest strap and one that takes into account more than just height, weight, and gender for calculations (some do resting heart rate tests, etc).

I like a deli flat with turkey, hummus, and broccoli slaw (for crunch). If I'm ok with some more calories, I'll add shredded reduced fat cheddar, too.

And you can usually get them at the Dollar Store. I was very skeptical, but they work!!

Love my Polar FT40. Strap is pretty comfortable and not noticeable under clothes. Straps are supposedly much more accurate than the wrist only versions, so pop in the ladies room and put it on before the treadmill - worth it.

I like the plain greek yogurt with a little honey drizzled on it. You can add banana if you want that many caloires.

We worked together at a school for kids with special needs. The "motor room" (where the kids came for physical therapy with me) was in a partitioned part of the gym, within eyeline of the milk chest for lunch time. At first I thought it was strange that his classroom needed milk so frequently during the day and that they…

Welcome! Also, be aware - that banana thing is a Google Ad, not part of the website! You can get lots of good info from the site, though!!

A) Cabin!! In fact, vacation already planned for Steamboat, CO!! Can't wait for the cabin on 40+ acres with the family and my brother's family!! Though with all this snow, a beach is also VERY inviting!

Try "second skin" pads. You can get them at the drugstore. They can help with the discomfort in the meantime.

I believe Pepperidge Farm flats are only 100 cals (every calorie counts, right?)

When I make an egg sandwich (either on a light engl. muffin or bagel flat), I grill the bagel in then pan before I cook the egg beaters (spray it with Pam, put it face down and use something heavy to press it). I also like Jennie-O turkey bacon on it with reduced fat cheddar.

I'm 34 and married for 6 1/2 years. I have 2 boys, 5 and 3, and a German Shepherd. I love this idea!

You can't see the strap at all under your clothes - it is basically under the elastic of your sportsbra, just under "the girls." It takes a couple workouts to get the tightness right. Too tight, you can't breathe, too loose and it falls down. The straps are supposed to be much more accurate than the wrist only watches, as…

You can double-check at www.polarusa.com to see if your model is waterproof, but I believe most Polars are. They probably have the instruction book on the website, too.

I believe you're talking about a heart rate monitor, and they are more accurate than machines at the gym. There are a lot of different models, depending on what you're looking for and how much you want to spend, but you definitely need to get one with a chest strap if you want it to be accurate. That is what measures your…

I would be shocked if you were really burning 1000 calories doing Zumba . . .

I just got a Polar FT40 online at drugstore.com. There's a Polar sale going on with free shipp, too. Worth checking it out. From what I've heard Polar straps are pretty confortable and you can now change your own batteries on most models.

Unless you are qualified to teach proper exercise technique, most likely better to stay out of it. Also, by PTs I'm assuming everyone means trainers as opposed to Physical Therapists (which is what the abbreviation is really for). I hope that personal trainers at gyms aren't referring to themselves as PTs as there is a…

Cook it however you like, but just DO NOT OVERCOOK IT!! I think that's the most important part.

Once your range of motion is back, and you've done TONS of icing and rest, you could also start back on the bike. You can get some cardio in and take it easy on your ankle. Careful with swimming - it's a great suggestion, but kicking can be painful, so take it slow. If the pain persists, I also recommend seeing your doctor…
