I am so sorry to hear that you are going through this. Hopefully, your pain will be well managed. I think the prescription-pain medication abuse is nationwide. My husband just had a total hip replacement and got through the healing with heavy doses of Tylenol.

Now this is kind of funny. Your blessing today was my bane. My hands are all scratched up from picking up berry branches that we had trimmed.

Yes, of course! The first 54 days of Ninevah 90 include praying a daily rosary for the intentions of personal holiness, the church on earth, and the conversion of our nation. It doesn't matter if you didn't start on day one including these intentions. Other aspects of Ninevah 90 are fasting and exercise. Fasting meaning no…

Mass, adoration, and then walking mountain trails with my daughter. Feeling very blessed. :-)

I'm more of a traditionalist. The sign of peace is supposed to be a reverent and sincere prayer that the person you are shaking hands with will receive the Peace of Christ, which is so much more meaningful and beautiful than a casual greeting. Not saying that the priests were being insincere, but the fact that it brought…

Getting through to my insurance company and having them reconsider payment for a procedure that they had denied. I should get an answer in 30-45 days, but it's a start!

Berns Steakhouse in the SOHO area of south Tampa. Naturally aged beef, fresh grown vegetables, amazing wine list, followed by a visit to their dessert room. Oh, my! Obviously not a meal that I've had in a couple of years, probably won't have again, but still remember with a smile.

I understand. Hope your burdens are lighter and easier today than they were on that particular Sunday.

Just started logging again and checked into the Catholic group. Saw your post and looked up the Gospel from that Sunday. Want to talk about it? Here's the reading: At that time Jesus exclaimed: “I give praise to you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned…

Step one: Change you mindset. The holidays are not going to be hard. You're going to have fun plotting out how to enjoy some indulgences and still continue losing weight. Step two: Devise your plans for each week. Big party on Saturday? Cut back some calories each day during the week before, add a little more exercise each…

YOU. LOOK. FABULOUS!!

Roasting changes the flavor of squash. So, even if you don't think you like squash, try yellow and zucchini squash roasted. That's how my husband learned to love them. Also, try broccoli roasted - YUM!!

Friday, October 4: Day one of our novena!
-
I may be without internet service for the next couple of days, so I wanted to remind those of you who want to join in this novena, that we'll be starting this Friday!

LOL! Yes!

Perhaps a novena for the church militant in the Middle East and Africa?

When you set up your goals, you selected the amount of your weekly-loss goal , 1/2 pound, 1 pound, 2 pounds, whatever. Just look at the goal you set and divide the number of pounds you want to lose by the weekly-loss goal. It won't be completely accurate, but it will give you an idea. For example, if you want to lose 10…

I've lost 54 pounds, and I'm down 6 sizes from US 18 to US size 6.

God bless you! Welcome to the Catholic MFP board. I love to pray and I love being Catholic, too. Log all your food and exercise, have a little deficit every day and the pounds will come off!

Welcome to MFP and to the Catholic Church!

Coconut oil is reputed to be very healthy. I'd love for you to share the cookie recipe.

I’ve been absent from the forum for a while and just saw your posts last night. You have endured things that I’ll never have to experience. I’ve suffered some setbacks and losses, but nothing compared to you. So I was thinking, who am I to give you advice? I could tell you things that you already know: that God created the…

You look great!

That's a major shortcoming. My guess is that MFP is working on it, but in the meantime, if you add your recipes as "meals," you can tweak quantities and ingredients.
