Most of the fad diets that you are reading about on the internet will work, but only for a short period of time. They'll leave you starving, depleted of nutrients, your weight will rebound in a big way, and you'll end up heavier than when you started. Calorie counting can be boring, if you let it be. So here's how you…

Body Fortress (I find it at Walmart in the pharmacy section). It also has amino acids. Love the vanilla and strawberry flavors. Chocolate is okay. But, it's about $18, not $10. If you want to try using up what you have now, add some fruit to your shake. A couple of strawberries, blueberries, or 1/2 a banana will add a lot…

Check with your doctor. Especially if you are a smoker.

Vanilla protein powder 1/2 frozen banana chunks of cantaloupe 1 T flax seed 1/4 cup almond milk. Tastes like an orangesicle and is really nice and thick, about the consistency of soft serve yogurt.

I try to have a protein shake every day as well, but I don't replace a meal with it. I LOVE my protein shakes that I make with Body Fortress, almond milk, flax seed, and fresh fruit. They are so good that I have them as my evening dessert. I do seem to lose faster when I have the a protein shake each day, even though I'm…

Congratulations on the new life you have given to yourself and your family. May it be long and richly blessed!

Try sprinkling the slices with a little salt and let them sit a half hour or so, then pat dry with a paper towel.

Hey, a half hour is great, especially if it's cold. Love your play list.

Worth every penny! My husband and I wore ours out in just under a year. The company was excellent about the warranty, and shipped me a new one within days. Definitely recommend the product (and recommend that you take the time to register your purchase.)

Duh....I read the story of St. Lawrence's martyrdom. Then, I went back to the original link, and I'm still thinking, "What does this have to do with St. Lawrence?" Then I realized that I needed to scroll down!

This looks absolutely delicious. I think I'm going to try it, but use less oil.

I'll show my ignorance. I don't understand it.

Body Fortress, at Walmart costs around $17 in my area, and is the least expensive one I've seen. It also contains amino acids and I like the taste of both the vanilla and strawberry, but I don't care for the chocolate. My daughter likes the chocolate when she adds a teaspoon or so of cocoa powder to enhance the flavor.

I've had my Nutribullet for a year and I love it. I use it to make my protein smoothies and green smoothies. But, just like all other foods, I weigh each ingredient and log everything. As long as your total intake is at a deficit, you will lose weight. There's no "free" food, not even the healthy stuff.

This was part of Father's homily this morning. He tied in St. Frances' advice about not being in a hurry and doing all things calmly. Then he told about a study of seminarians who were asked to prepare a short talk on why they wanted to be priests. Half were told that they were late and to go over to another building to…

Cut into very thin slices. Spray both sides with Pam. Sprinkle with salt (and other spices, if you like). Bake at 300 for about 20 minutes until crispy.

There have been a number of suicides in my extended family. Fortunately, none have been close relatives, but even at the distance, it is so very difficult for those left behind. I don't know the circumstances, or why your friend died a non-believer, but God's mercy is boundless, and we trust in His mercy while respecting…

Well, I got off track, but completed day 7 today!

If you have a crock pot, you can find a lot of delicious and reasonable-calorie meals. Make a large amount and portion it into individual meal sizes and freeze. Make a different recipe each week for a few weeks, then take out different frozen portions for each day of the week.

Do you work from home? Are you making Sunday night meals for one or for a family?

I asked this same question on a different forum. I had about 10 pounds left to lose. The advice I got was to eat at my maintenance level for light or moderate activity and not eat back my exercise calories. I increased my calories, significantly increased my protein intake, stopped cardio, and started at-home lifting of…

A cup of plain cheerios is only 100 calories and gives me that satisfying "crunch" that I crave. Tonight, I made my own tortilla chips for the first time. I cut two Mi Casita corn tortillas into 8ths, sprayed them with a little Pam, and baked them for 5 minutes. I had 16 chips for only 80 calories plus 10 calories of…
