People get kind of weird about me eating Laughing Cow cheese triangles straight out of the box. I think it's delicious though!
-
Haha same here - how random!

Sounds lovely but we don't get powdered drink mix in this country either - unless I've missed out? Can you get powdered drink mixes in the UK anyone?
-
I tend to just have some kind of spirit with diet coke. I love Southern Comfort and Sailor Jerry's as they give the drink a nice fruity or vanilla-y taste. Vodka gets boring quite quickly! There aren't really any good pre-mixed options in the UK either :grumble: I guess they reckon people who are drinking don't really care…

Yup, me too!

I used to love the WW yoghurts but they do have an awful lot of sweeteners in and I've grown more sensitive to that over the years. I tend to have Danone Activia yoghurts instead - they probably have sweeteners in them too tbh but you can't taste them as much!

It's all helpful - I obviously need to make sure I drink more water to make sure I am adequately hydrated. I craved a coke zero yesterday and almost bought one but thought better of it and water was just as good

I love my Polar F11 - I'm not sure they do that model any more but any Polar HRM is a worthwhile investment. Mine lets you plan out your workout schedule, set whether you want to maintain, increase or maximise your fitness and it gives you rewards if you reach your exercise goal for the week (it's only a little pixelated…

I live in Birmingham - feel free to add me too

Thanks for all the tips guys! I had my first soda-free day yesterday. Long may it continue!
-
Like these guys said - that is a ginormous victory! Well done

Markets are great for getting cheap veg - we have one in Birmingham where the veg gets sold at ridiculously cheap prices but you have to use it up pretty quickly because it goes off quicker. Other than that there is nothing wrong with it though

Wow I didn't actually know that - the cancer connection has never really scared me either but the idea that every time I have a coke zero it is eating away at my bones is definitely scary :noway: That will definitely help me give up - thank you!

Wow Izze sounds wonderful! Sadly I don't think it's available in this country (UK) but I'm sure I could find something similar...

This is what I've been doing so far and it's worked! I've been stricter with myself too, using more of that stuff I thought I didn't have - willpower  I've been looking around for shops that sell single cans around here but I haven't actually found any! They just sell 500ml bottles so I think what I'll do is buy a…

Fanastic! Go you  I find I just can't eat as much as I used to when I get given a big portion which really helps!

I'm 5'10" - am 197.8 lbs at the moment and my initial goal is 174 lbs though I may feel differently when I get there.
-
Mine would be 180 lbs - my previous lowest weight was 13 stone which is 182 lbs so if I get below that it would be a real "this is actually happening" type moment

Great to know - I worry about loose skin as probably most people do on here so it's good to know there are options other than surgery...
-
I'm the same - my housemate drinks regular coke and I really don't like it. And I can get through a case of it in 2 days as well haha! I think I may have to start doing that too, use it as a treat I mean. I like the idea of putting the value of one can of coke into a piggy bank every day I don't have one so that I can…

I live in Birmingham and have about 20 pounds to lose. I'm 30 but I feel 21!
-
Haha and me! I love the mayo - been trying to give it up but it's tough
-
Is seltzer water the same as soda water? I've never seen it in the UK
-
Yeah it's always nice knowing you can buy a smaller size! I think I will keep one item of clothing that fit when I was at my biggest just as a reminder to future skinnier me - I didn't last time and I kind of regretted it
-
I'm so glad I'm not the only cottage cheese hater! I thought it was something that everyone liked lol
-
This is a great idea  I hadn't really thought about it like that!
-
Cottage cheese. I think it's vile but loads of people seem to love it!

My moment was at Christmas just gone - I ate rubbish the whole time and felt miserable. I had headaches, bending over was difficult because I was getting a headrush every time and my stomach felt huge! I'd already found MFP by that point but was half-heartedly doing it. After Christmas I started taking it far more…

Yes it is so easy for us to overeat and blame it on someone else. I think a lot of people do it and until you have the revelation that you have described, it's so simple just to say "It isn't me!" But I think once you have had this realisation it's so much easier to keep on track because you realise that only YOU are…
