Personally, I think you can NEVER guarantee exactly what you're burning, even if you wear a HRM. I think it's often less than you think. SO I would opt for a mixture of both. Eat at a slight deficit and add in exercise on top.

Take some 'before' pictures, measure your waist, thighs and arms, hide it all away on your computer somewhere. you'll tahank yourself so much for it in 1-2 months time when you can see the progress! Don't give up!

I think as long as you can accurately ount the calories/fat in the sauces you use that's absolutely fine, and in fact, good. As previous poster said, fat helps with nutrient absorption. But fatty sauces/butter can stall weight loss if not accounted for. Good luck!

This does not sound too healthy.

I will do my "six weeks to six pack" DVD tomorrow instead :P I will check in after to let you know how it went. It's an offroad marathon with a…

"I don't even answer my phone the day before an event, much less do new workout routines." - LOL! Thanks for the advice. The reason is I usually work 60-70hrs/week (doctor) and can't make most classes, but i have 4 days off this week so can actually make this class tomorrow whereas looking at my rota i might not make it…

I'm in a similar position, haven't lost weight for 6 weeks. I know, though, it's because I've been letting myself have treats in between meals :(

I'm a big fan f PHD Diet Whey. (In UK buy at holland and barrett or GNC) It's yummy, packs a good protein punch and has slightly fewer calories per protein gram than other brands. I looove the vanilla flavour in porridge

what is a 'power squat'? one you're supposed to do quickly? Just a heads up - at my gym the bar itself weighs 20kg!
-
do a 20min hard interval cardio session on the bike (or cross trainer if you have to) then lift.

Yeah. I get hungry, but less than I did in the first 3 weeks. I either ignore it and exercise willpower and use diet drinks (actually did this for 4 months straight) Now sometimes I give in, eat mroe healthy food and the calories go up and i exercise more, or have occasional pig out days :( edit: I'm 5 foot 3/about 160cm…

Lots of smart-rses out tonight. For me: Low fat (fage) greek yoghurt helps me lose weight, fills me up, delicious and no fat and 100 cals per pot (quite a big pot!) Gain weight: CHOCOLATE CARAMEL DIGESTIVES. I can eat a 1300 calorie packet easily. and i can never just have one biscuit

Maybe on workout days you're overestimating your calorie burn and eating back too many calories, thus losing your deficit?
