Hey, grad student here. I get up around 6 am to run. I pretend that it's a class I have to go to. Really, just plan your day to include some exercise like you would a class. You probably have breaks in between classes so do a workout then. Also, am I correct in assuming that it's finals time? I think I'll get some flak for…

I think it's important to remember this whenever the media reports science *fixed Especially when it comes to things like nutrition and exercise.

All scales do this. In chemistry class, where we had really good scales, I could wave my hand across the top of the scale and the weight displayed would change.. When I get on my bathroom scale the weight can change within a few minutes around 1-2 pounds. Don't worry about it.

Yeah no kidding. A lot of people just ate tons of garbage to put on weight. I know I did. When people are saying "well you ate enough to get fat didn't you?" they forget that people eat things like oreos and cake that are real easy to eat a lot of.

I think what people are saying is that Sally, because of her previous low amount of calories, isn't likely to stick to the plan. Such as she would be hungry and lethargic and thus more likely to binge. Not that she would magically gain all her weight back eating at maintenance. At least I HOPE that's not what they're…

Are you taking rest days? If you're running day after day after day and not resting then eventually your legs are going to get too tired and force you to rest. Try running every other day and do something other form of exercise on rest days. This is just my uneducated opinion so if you want a real answer go to the doctor.

It's been a long long time since I took a biochem course but I think it gets used by the body to rebuild itself or fuel cells and the waste products from those reactions just pass through the body as fecal matter or pee. Basically the same place all the other stuff you eat goes it's just now your body is supplying some of…

Do you actually have cancer? Or had chemo? If so then that might be the reason you're not losing weight. This is just anecdotal evidence but I know a woman who fought cancer with chemo and no matter what amount of calories she would eat, her weight would just bounce all over the place. Have you talked to your doctor about…

Definitely give it a shot. I'm on the end of week 6 right now and its amazing to see how far I've come from week 1. The cool thing is even by the second workout, it got easier to do. As for weight loss, getting a food scale is probably the best thing you could do. It's really hard to accurately report how much you're…

For running at least, you might be trying to do too much too fast. Have you tried Couch to 5K? It's a great program aimed at absolute beginners in running.
