Right. I never disputed the idea that 1200 a day is not good in the long-term. The OP is doing it for weight loss until she is ready for exercise again and thus, eat more.
-
I don't even know wtf you're talking about. Grad school just ended over the summer. I still live a sedentary lifestyle. But yes.. trolling! Actually no, sticking up for a young woman who was getting **** on for her success.
-
I don't know how many times I have to say it. I did 1200/cal a day to lose the weight I needed to just like the OP is trying to do. Do you know everything about the OP and that she doesn't have a medical/health/height/activity reasons to be doing so?
-
TBH, I'm not sure where that line is but I don't think not supporting 1200 a day is reasonable considering the site itself recommends it as bare minimum. I choose not to judge what someone is doing or comment on their lifestyle but I will stick up for others and myself.
-
Nobody said their throwing up their meals, lol.
-
Thank you for this post. You eloquently said exactly as how I was feeling. :) When someone said this site is for tracking and that we're not here to be "pals" it upset me a little. I always thought of the people on my newsfeed and in the forums as my weightloss pals. I love reading the success stories and different ways…

Biotin promotes healthy hair and nail growth. My nails grow so fast that it's a bit ridiculous. My hair normally grows slowly but with Biotin I've seen it growing much faster. If you're maintaining you can probably up those calories. :D
-
I understand what you're trying to say and I don't do 1200 a day as a long term solution. I stagger my calories. I've been doing this for 5 years and never fell back into bad habits. I don't wish for anyone to have an eating disorder and think they should do what works best for them. People seem to have an issue with what…
-
Ouch. :( I've heard of this happening too. I didn't experience it but I take Biotin.
-
it's also not about YOU. And letting those thousands of silent lurkers know that they don't have to go to the gym 3 hours a day or lift heavy either. It's their choice!
-
Congratulations on your weight loss! That is a huge accomplishment. I totally agree, do what works for your body.
-
Oookay. I bought a fitbit. It synchs with MFP. It is also used for tracking. :S
-
Used the fit bit site and mfp.
-
Figured why not. ^.^
-
Who cares?
-
because I did it for 6 months to lose the weight which is what the OP is trying to do as well.
-
Grad school just ended for me but it was a lot of time after work. So now it's the game.
-
Nope 1200 Mon-Thurs. like I said a billion times. I did 1200 every day for my weight loss. I am maintaining. I am maintaining. I am maintaining. I am maintaining. I am maintaining. :)
-
Okay. I don't track weekends, I eat mostly what I want but not gorge a whole pizza. More active on weekends too. But okay.
-
Exactly. I'm not saying I got gigantic massive arms but after 4 months they were still stretching my shirts so I decided to stop. Also hate exercise. I'm sure in the long run it would look totally different and I do not disagree.
-
Updated my profile. :] Can't change the tracker thingy or don't know how.
-
Because I never update it or use it. I put something in there as my goal weight when I joined the site. I don't use anything but the food tracker.
-
Because I DID 1200 calories a day to lose the weight! I'm maintaining like I've said a billion times. [let me repeat this for the next 10 posts].
-
I've been back on this site for 4 days. I joined in 2012 doing the same diet. I'm not here to impress you either.
-
I said I think everyone looks great and posted a COMPLIMENT but that I tried it and it wasn't for me because my arms gained muscle and got bigger faster than losing the fat in my arms. I didn't think everyone would get their toned-*kitten* panties in a bunch and scream at me relentlessly for not liking heavy lifting. Not…
-
Haha.. I'm used to it. I posted yesterday about not liking heavy lifting but that the ladies look amazing and got flamed to all hell. I think 5 people have me on ignore. ;P [puts flame shield on]
-
I'm not losing anymore. :p I'm maintaining. I don't track weekends which is anything from sushi to italian to who knows what.
-
I feel bad for the OP because of everyone attacking her. I don't live an active lifestyle either so I was giving her perspective on doing it to diet and then easing up for maintenance.
-
You're probably right about that long-term. That's why I take weekends off now that I'm in maintenance. It would get too difficult to do 1200 if you have family, friends, social life, etc.. Everything revolves around food! And you've got to be happy too. :]
-
Definitely! I only did 1200 when I needed to lose the weight. Because I don't exercise and I'm short I can't go over that without starting to slowly gain. And trust me I know about exercise and I've tried ;p haha. I'm at a happy weight right now so eating 1200 Mon-Thurs doesn't bother me. :D I guess I like kind of bland…
