^^^^ Bad advice. Starvation mode doesn't exist - it's an absolute myth. Muscle is not heavier than fat - it's more dense. You will not build enough muscle to "gain" 4 pounds in only 5 workouts.
-
If you are sore, your muscles are retaining water and that is likely the cause of the "gain." Any time you start a new exercise program, your body will retain water. Weight loss is an exercise in patience. You didn't gain weight over night (or in only 7 days), so you aren't going to lose it that way either. Keep exercising…

Eh. I'm on the fence with them. They aren't my meal of choice, but if that's all they are my only choice, I'll eat them. It's all about your own tastes though. try and see if you like them. If you don't, then don't eat them again.

This is me. I don't eat McDonald's often, but once in a while, it sure hits the spot. My typical go-to menu items are either a grilled chicken southwest salad or a happy meal. I don't demonize any food and honestly, McDonald's is easier to fit into my macros than many other fast food places.

This is pretty much it. Every day I have to make a decision about what I want more: to eat/drink the treat(s) or to get fit. I still indulge on occasion and I absolutely still eat all my favorite things but now I just eat less of them/smaller portion and/or they are not every day occurrences.

This.

Rayrayfitz, first off, congratulations on your weight loss so far. You are doing fantastic! You should be incredibly proud of your progress so far. Unfortunately, our bodies don't like to lose weight (in my experience) and weight tends to come off in fits and starts. I have lost 90 so far and still have 30 to go. My weight…

I never cook breakfast during the week and because of my schedule dinners are not labor intensive. I just watch HOW MUCH I eat, not what! Last night I had pizza and salad and both were picked up from the local take and bake pizza place. This morning, I was running late for work, so breakfast is a granola bar and a couple…

This right here. Starvation mode is a myth. However, eating more makes you more satisfied and less prone to binging, which will inhibit your weight loss. Also, have you lost anything? If you have, what you are doing is working. Weight loss isn't a race.
-
Guilt is also a wasted emotion, OP. Stop feeling guilty for what you eat and instead just log it and move on. We *all* make mistakes. You just have to own up to them, pay the consequences, and move forward. You can't change the past or the future. You can only control what you do right this minute, so why waist time and…

Oh, and I also work 7-5, plus overtime. I also elementary-aged son and a disabled husband. Everyone is busy. You still have to make time for yourself because nobody else will. It takes a few minutes at each meal to log your food. If you want to exercise, walk on your lunch hour. Really, taking care of yourself does not…

OP, weight is lost in the kitchen, not the gym. You get fit in the gym. What I mean by that is you can lose weight without ever lifting one finger in exercise. I go through periods when I exercise and when I don't. My weight loss is consistent regardless, although I always feel better - both mentally and physically - when…

I have to echo everyone else. To be successful, you need to weigh, measure and log everything you eat. That and have lots of patience. I just hit 90 pounds down today. The single biggest reason for my success is that I made the commitment to log everything I eat - good, bad or ugly. Day in and day out.

People *are* trying to help you. A juice cleanse will make you miserable at best and damage your health at worst. Just stay away from them. Eat at a calorie deficit and move more. That's *all* you have to do. Trust me. I've lost 90 pounds doing just that very thing. I haven't touched one cleanse, other than my soap in the…

The above poster is correct. You are growing a baby and this is no longer about you, it's about the life you are nurturing. This is a conversation you need to have with your doctor. Strangers on a message board have no idea what your specific nutritional requirements are during your pregnancy. Go to a doctor as soon as…
-
Honestly, your best bet is to talk to your doctor and see if he/she can recommend a good nutritionist. Someone who can create a meal plan for your specific issues. Beyond that, there is some trial and error. I have had diabetes for almost 6 years. It took a long time for me to understand and control my own blood sugar. For…

Undercover, to add someone as a friend, click on their screen name and then click on "Add Friend." That will send a message to the person asking if they want to become friends with you. to send a message to them, again click on their screen name and then click "Send Message." Good luck to you!

For your long-term health (both mental and physical), stay away from eating less than 1200 calories on a consistent basis. 1200 is the minimum amount of calories most people need to maintain health. Starvation mode is a myth, so don't let people tell you that you will go into starvation mode and quit losing. You WILL feel…

Weight loss is not linear. Not at all! It is normal to lose a lot one week and nothing or even gain the next. That is NORMAL. If you graph your weight, by the time you get to goal, your graph will likely look like a roller coaster! A plateau is also a LONG time without a measurable loss and no changes to your diet or…

I've lost almost 90 and have 30 left to go and it's taken me 3 years to get to this point so far (so losing quickly is not a factor). However, I have a ton of extra skin and may consider surgery at some point in the future when I finally get to my goal. Loose skin totally depends on your age, genetics and skin type and no…

I have the One, and I LOVE it. I thought I had lost it and went without it for 3 days and was ready to just go buy a new one when my husband found mine. Pros: VERY motivating, syncs with MFP, inconspicuous - I can wear it with anything including fancy dress-up outfits Cons: Not inexpensive, the silicone holder isn't…

Yes, yes and YES! 1. Never, ever, ever, ever compare yourself to others. It only undermines yourself. You have no idea what they are actually doing and every body is different. What works for them may or may not work for you and what works for you may or may not work for them. Quit comparing yourself to others! 2. To be…

So, so many! * My bottom hurts when sitting on a hard seat. * I am *always* cold! * I have visible collar bones, cheek bones and hip bones. * I had to have my rings resized * I am so much more adventurous - mainly because I'm no longer afraid someone will tell me I'm too fat to safely try something! * I actually enjoy…

Not common in Colorado. I went to a small liberal arts college. Our dorms didn't even have community kitchens. I ate in the dining hall or restaurants until I moved off campus. My sister went to a large state school. She didn't have kitchens - communal or otherwise - either until she moved off campus. If the OP is a…

I'll third this! I do also agree that from a cost-benefit standpoint, you'd be better off with a rotisserie chicken and sides from the super market, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with a meal from Boston Market if it fits into you plan. and now I'm hungry for rotisserie chicken...

This is me. I count all that I use, whether I eat it or not, but I use very little oil.

like you, I just started without telling my friends and family. It just became obvious after I started losing weight. This was MY journey this time and I didn't want the pressure of anyone else knowing what I was doing. I knew my friends and family meant well, but I still didn't want to hear it. It worked for me. Everyone…

I have lost just about 90 pounds so far. I started with a cup size of DDD and now I wear a G. Mine did not shrink. obviously. *snort* (and I was hoping they would) It all entirely depends on your specific body composition.

You don't need will power, you need determination. It's not easy no matter how much or how little you need to lose. I started with 120 pounds to lose, I am down to the last 30. It's no easier now than it was the first day and in some ways, it's harder and in other ways it's easier. However, being fat is also hard. Choose…

I didn't really ever have one. I was the heaviest I had ever been and had just booked a trip to San Francisco for my upcoming 41st birthday and suddenly panicked that I wouldn't be able to comfortably walk around the city on my vacation and would be miserable. So, in order to enjoy my vacation, I decided to start walking…
