I had butternut squash last night, I just cut it into chunks and roasted it for about an hour and had it with goats cheese on a bed of salad. In the salad I also had asparagus which I steamed first and then let it cool slightly before adding to the salad. Look on line, there's some fabulous ideas for vegetables. x

Hi James, I too was waiting for the fitbit flex, couldn't wait any longer so got an UP. It certainly has made me more aware of putting in more steps. At the moment the UP teams are doing a step challenge, girls versus boys, sadly I think the boys will win. I will look out for you on the UP. :-)

But my calories were still under 1400 on the days I had protein bars. I thought it must be the bars as I have since lost the extra weight during the last week without having the bars. x

I am a vegetarian and also struggle with my protein intake. A couple of weeks ago I started having protein bars and put on 3 lbs in a week and having the protein bars were the only thing I changed so no more protein bars. I try and eat cottage cheese most days and have almonds as a snack. x

I am totally with you on this, a few years ago I joined a running club and found that I like the idea of running much more that I liked running. I gave up, my asthma wouldn't let me run far, my knees hurt etc... But for some crazy reason I still want to run, I would love to be able to just put on my sports bra and trainers…

Why would I lie about the amount of time I am exercising, surely I would be kidding myself if that was the case. Yes I probably could push myself abit harder during my workouts, which I intend to do.

An effective instructor should be changing the routine every few weeks so that people's muscles don't get too used to the moves. What kind of job do you work? If it's food service, you could always try to add in wall pushups, pulse squats, and/or standing calf raises while you wait for your food to come up on the line or…

I've been going to the same aerobic class for 10 years so I can safely say that I do enjoy that and I do look forward to that. :laugh: I do try and vary my other exercise though as our bodies need a change but wouldn't want to give up my aerobic classes.

Thanks for the link, I've been using my son's weights but very limited to what I do. Will definitely do the workout but I've just made a huge mistake. I have just showed my son the website so I will have to wait my turn using his weights now. :smile:
