  • The only vitamin I take is D because the doctor told me I was low. If you have any big concerns ask your doctor.
  • Jealous husband - because everyone is telling him how good his wife looks
  • Although you are not strength training walking is strengthening and firming muscles. Great job :)
  • I have no problem losing on 3 meals a day with snack between lunch & dinner. Problems come in and insulin issues when I eat refined grains and sugar. As long as you are eating balanced meals and lower glycemic index foods, your blood sugar and insulin should remain stable.
  • It could also be partially the surface you are walking on. A hard road or paved path may not be the best. A softer woody hiking trail or sandy beach may be better. Also as mentioned above yoga is good. A good instructor can work with you and help you avoid things you shouldn't be doing.
  • You can also go open face so only one slice of bread. It may simply be the amount of carbohydrates. Also do you have whole wheat or multigrain options?
  • Embrace the changing seasons. I try very much for this to be my philosophy. In spring I eat lots of berries, asparagus and other spring foods. In summer lots of salads and generally cooler foods. In the fall and winter, I go for warming hardy foods like soups and stews. The summer is sometimes the hardest time to workout…
  • Generally 3,500 calories for a pound of weight loss. So yes you should see some change.
  • hint - coconut oil is not as dependent on bile for digestion so it is a good oil for sauteing.
  • You can also check your local community boards and parks to see if they have any group exercise classes.
  • OP you should see an allergist and find out exactly where you stand. My daughter has an extremely bad birch OAS response. She can not eat even cooked apples and must read ingredients very carefully because even "natural flavors" can cause a reaction. There are still plenty of fruits she can eat like citrus fruits and she…
  • My mom noticed at 10 to 15 pounds everyone else was after I lost enough to need some new clothes. When I started wearing the new clothes the loss showed more.
  • simple answer : YES I don't deny myself an occasional cookie or brownie or slice of pizza. It helps me stay on track the rest of the time. You need to be flexible.
  • I had tried 5 meals but it did not work for me. I never felt full or satisfied. I now do 3 meals and sometimes a snack. Do what works for you. You need to be able to incorporate it into your lifestyle and work and home schedule.
  • yup - gut bacteria changes - If I eat things that aren't in my usual repertoire, I get gassy or bloated. 2 slices of pizza would probably do that.
  • Old Navy has some nice work pants. Not too expensive especially if you are still losing.
  • Homemade dressing for a homemade salad. I have a collection of vinegar and oils that I like to mix and match depending on the salad ingredients. Sesame oil, soy sauce and rice wine vinegar for an asian style salad.
  • First off OP - Great job! You are doing easily managed changes to make yourself healthier. One thing I did was start buying frozen microwave in the bag vegetables (no sauce). They are convenient and have helped me stay away from fast food drive thrus. Also have you started any exercise. When I first started 1/2 a mile walk…
  • I have a store by me that sells Calmbucha. It is kombucha that is sold on tap. You fill it up fresh from the tap and they let you sample the different flavors before you buy. I like the spicy flavors (ginger, chai, turmeric) best and am not very fond of the fruity ones but that is just me.
  • whole grain bread with brie this morning. It is my go to when I get tired of the "normal" breakfast foods.
  • I like a runny egg on a bowl of steel cut oatmeal.
  • Emotional eating is one of the hardest things to overcome. Not having the ice cream in the freezer and easily accessible is the first step to success. I find if I have to get in my car and drive to get something I crave ,the caving usually just goes away. Great start.

  • Started in 2010. I have only lost about 40 pounds but doing the right thing makes me feel good. I don't ever want to feel like I did when I started. I feel younger and more energetic today than I did 6 years ago.
  • Did you pee and poo before getting on the scale? That makes a major difference for me.
  • If you started diet and exercise at the same time this is very common. Many people see no loss or even gain when they start exercising. As stated above take some measurements.
  • I'm not sure if I would be able to eat them after raising them. It's like eating a pet rabbit. I would buy cricket flour to try that.

  • First step is acknowledging the behavior. Step two is to find something to stop it. Find a hobby to take up that snacking time. Keep your hands busy so they can't put things in your mouth.
  • Stop bringing it up. If they bring up your eating keep your answer short. If you are eating together, instead of saying you don't want to eat something because of your diet just say " I don't feel like having that right now." Luckily you don't live with them and hopefully they are not bring in the trigger foods to you…
  • cottage cheese oatmeal pancakes with peanut butter on top - fairly balanced fat:protein:carb ratio by calories
  • ditto - I also sometimes get Special K chocolate more for snack or dessert than breakfast though.
