  • I like steel cut oatmeal. I just like the texture better and it reheats well in the microwave. You can make a big batch and reheat as you need it. I usually add peanut butter.
  • I like to keep an eye out for concerts from tribute bands. They are not too expensive (sometimes free) and usually tons of fun plus you're dancing and moving the whole time.
  • Breathe - everything on here is estimates. I tend to focus on my calories first and just use the macros as a general guide but not sweat too much over them. There are fractions and rounding that throw everything off so close is really good enough.
  • I usually only prep 2 to 3 days out. Sunday for Monday to Wednesday. Then Wednesday for Thursday and Friday. I usually don't prep the weekend and leave it for whatever I am in the mood for while staying within calories.
  • I also look for something new and exciting to try. It isn't the motivation as much as getting bored. I like trying new exercises or activities or finding new recipes. In the summer there are tons of trails to hike and farmers' markets with new foods to try. Find something that excites you.
  • You also may be a bit dehydrated. Try to drink plain water or water with a little lemon, cucumber or rosemary for some flavor instead of caffeine in the afternoon.

  • Eating well is good for you and your family. Also get some play time in with the children. You will get some exercise and some great memories. What can be more motivating than three happy smiles. :) :) :)
  • great progress!! Have you used a tape measure? Often we don't see the difference in the mirror but measuring might help you see the difference more. You may also want to increase your vegetable variety just to get some different nutrients which you may be lacking.
  • Basically shop the outside aisles. The produce department is where I spend most of my time. I have sheets with 7 columns that I fill in with my meal plan. I get the weekly circular from my store before I sit down to plan so I know what is on sale.
  • I was expecting to read a list of ice cream, potato chips, cookies and cake. Your list isn't bad at all. Take one of the $1 packaged dinners and open a can of veggies and you have a much more satisfying meal. Just watch your portions and salt and you should be fine. You may want to rinse canned vegetables due to salt and…
  • Frittatas with lots of vegetables are my go to dinner when I am rushed or have a bunch of different left over veggies. Basically it is a quiche without a crust and I just throw in whatever I have on hand. You can also take out some whole eggs and replace with egg whites to lower fat and cholesterol.
  • I work at a desk all day and it drains all energy. A quick 5 or 10 minute walk can be a big boost. You do not need to workout your entire lunch hour or get sweaty.

  • More into finding some great fireworks shows. We will also sit around the firepit and hang out with friends and family.
  • Great suggestions but the main thing to take away is to not be too strict on calories and on the types of food you allow yourself to eat.
  • The excited puppy jumping up and down as I put my sneakers on makes me smile. Also when he stands by me in the kitchen and begs for cucumbers. Now I have to always have cucumbers in the house.
  • Do you have a dog? Do you have neighbors who have dogs? Maybe start a small business for the summer walking dogs. It will give you a purpose and reason to get up and give you a bit of spending money.
  • I add extra celery to almost everything to bulk it up. I also eat 3 large meals instead of 6 small ones. I felt I was always hungry and snacking when I ate 6 meals.
  • Yeah- I understand - spend more time in the pool away from the food and beer. I try to focus on socializing and stay away from the food as much as possible. Just hop back on the wagon It is the only alternative.
  • It depends on what you mean by forbidding it. I didn't keep chips or candy in the house usually but I also did not forbid it. My children did have it at friends' or relatives' houses or when they came home from trick or treating. At Christmas and Easter, we usually had some candy around also. It is a matter of developing…
  • I have never found a binge to be fun or enjoyable. They usually come from a place of despair and self loathing. Maybe start journaling about when the thoughts of a binge come up. You may find the binge thoughts are replacing other emotions you are suppressing. This is a lifelong journey don't rush it.
  • You can try setting to 1.5 lbs a week just so you don't get hungry. It is better to lose slower than to be hangry and set yourself up for failure. You can also carry sneakers with you so if you have a 15 minute break you can take a quick little walk.
  • You did it once so you have the game plan that works for you. As JJS said start off slow doing something you know you can do easily. One success leads to another and that is where the motivation comes from.
  • Start looking around for your one-derland outfit. If you have something really cute picked out it might spur you on to get there so you can buy it.
  • I found these rice cake type things made from buckwheat that I like to use as a base for an open face sandwich. You can do tuna or egg salad or cottage cheese on it. I can't wait for the beefsteak tomatoes to come out. A big slice of tomato and american cheese will be awesome. Why aren't you and your family eating the same…
  • Herbs like rosemary or basil also add a nice flavor to your water. You could also look into non-alcoholic Bloody Mary recipes. People concentrate on the fruit and berries and forget veggies can make great drinks too.
  • Good quality chocolate in small single packets. They are my motivation to be good. I also found that exercising has decreased pain and bloating.
  • Celebrate what you have accomplished with a few jumping jacks and keep on keeping on. Keep trying on those thin clothes as motivation
  • Are you stressed or depressed? Mental issues are sometimes as powerful as physical ones. Our bodies produce some powerful chemicals in response to stress that can also effect weight loss efforts. I find meditation, yoga and walking outside to be powerful methods of combating my stress.
  • I worked too hard to get my A1C down to even have a taste of most of those things. I do love the corn on the cob at our local fair. It is laden with butter but I only have one once a year.
  • hypo thyroid also. I found exercise to be the key to success. I think my body just needs at least a 15 minute warm up in the morning to function better throughout the day. Don't give up it can be done.
