If you are lifting your muscles may be retaining some water for healing. Instead of weighing daily which will make these swings seem bigger, weighing weekly on the same day at the same time may work better. Don't get discouraged by one swing.

I got a gym membership just for this reason. I needed to stop making excuses. It's too cold. It's too hot. The gym is temperature controlled. Also lorrpd mentioned going to the pool. Even if you don't swim or feel silly doing water aerobics alone, just walking back and forth in the pool is great exercise.

some people say too many meals does not allow your digestive system proper time to rest and others say many small meals digest better. I think it is individual and we each should see which works better for how our body functions.

It has its place in my veggie drawer. It still has Vitamin K and lots of water and fiber so it is a great filler or just a munch when you want to fill up on not too many calories.

Start at calorie deficit. We are individuals and different methods work better for different people but it all boils down to eating less than you are consuming.

Instead of eating at a deficit try eating at maintenance while lifting.

10 to 15 minutes of morning exercise can also help boost energy levels throughout the day. And to repeat from above if you were on a 1000 calorie deficit it may be time to switch to 500 deficit (one pound per week). Also congratulations -Great job :-)

I had to stop eating potato chips completely when I first started because once I started I did not stop. Other foods like chocolate, I learned to eat in small portions of very good quality. After about 2 years I was able to have a few chips and stop. It's amazing what we can accomplish when we put our minds to it.
