I think, in all honesty, that everyone is going to lose or gain differently......so really, if you find that you do better with higher numbers rather then lower ones, then go with it. I wouldn't worry as much about what MFP says (they are simply a starting point). Tweak things to better suite you and your goals. I…

Personally....to me: If we are counting it as "hydration" And caffeine "dehydrates" This is a no brainer........don't cheat by using tea, coffee, and soda as a "hydrating" count. Drink WATER! This is what I learned going to school as an EMT.

Thank you for posting this. I've heard others on here say that we can count tea as water, but that concerns me since, as you said, the caffeine in it dehydrates.

Sorry you're getting run through the mill on this one. I'm sure you know that you need to eat healthy. I gained a lot of weight during my pregnancies....60+lbs with each. My first doctor kept giving me the "you're getting fat" speech, which only made me depressed. The second (a midwife) gave me the "be careful, but your…

I also wanted to say that I lost 12lbs before ever joining this sight....so in total I've lost 26lbs. Just take the time each day to plan what you're going to eat and be excited about it. As you go you will find things that work for you and that you truly enjoy. Don't let this be a "beat my self up" time, but a journey…

I agree....never deprive your self of the things you love. You'll only end up feeling depressed and doomed to live life in this body. I decide each day from the start what I'm going to have that day. If I know that I'm going to be meeting my dad at the pizza place for dinner then I need to keep my day low on…

Ya...what she said!! LOL. Seriously...I look at calories as money. If you have a goal for a vacation or a new tv you find a way to save that money and make it count. You weight loss is the same way. Put your self on a budget (your calories) and decide each morning what is really meaningful for you to spend them on. If you…

I am truly OCD....LOL. But I have to admit that I am bad at looking at the scale daily. But I don't let it get me down if it's up a little.

Ok....I feel like a dork. In reading this thread I realized that I have been counting my bottles of water as one serving. So I guess in my brain.....20oz = 1 serving....LOL. And to think I was fining it difficult to finish 8 a day....LOL.

I'm with ya!! I went from 160lbs to 128lbs back in 2002, but after a difficult marriage and divorce I put it all back on and then some. By 2007 I hit 190lbs. Now at 165lbs I'm looking to get that last 35lbs off and could really use a cheering squad. At times I feel like it's never going to happen.....and then a big drop.…
