My kendo sensei is one of the highest ranking in the states he used to travel to do seminars too, but I don't think his name/ rank/prestige has anything to do with what makes him a "great" to me.. He was 80 when I walked into the dojo, and he still put on him armor everyday to keiko with us. You could be fit and really…

Kendo and Shotokan. ShaolIn Kung fu as a kid, but apparently wasn't smart enough to remember the curvy stuff, so I stick to straight lines now. Would love to add grappling/ground at some point. Right now, I'm pretty useless once I'm on the ground.

He's getting good fast, its to you and your instructor's credit. Be proud... just don't let him know that yet, you know, to keep HIS ego in check. Then when he's taken his share of beginner "yellin at" and beatings, you might be able to compliment him someday with a " I expect better out of you".

I was really active a few years go in kendo and traditional Shotakan. trained on a national level in 2011 and had a blast. Life took a turn and things got busy. I've fallen off the wagon of training and fitness and need to get fired up again. But I have to say, taking this time to get fit doing other things like…

Add me. I put more weight into the exercise part of my log, as that keeps me on track to keep going. Calorie wise I will likely listen to my body first but I hover around the 1200 level, and I leave room for going out days/working lunches and some social drinking. 5'3 153lbs current routine is boot camp 4 times a week and…

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/14244559/?cid=social_20140617_26163116 This changes a lot of things with my DH and Monk. I might actually be brave enough to take them to Torment in Hardcore.

Congratz! Glad you are excited for the race, its a fun one. I'm signed up for it too. Did my first half ever at Disneyland in 2012 and I'm glad I chose a Disney race for my first one. Disney Halfs are great because there isn't so much pressure and they do a great job of keeping you entertained between water stations so it…

I hope you find your courage to just do it. So many great stories here about folks just realizing we should just step out and do it, because its not about judgement from everyone else, its about how we feel. Yes, he'll look no matter what, but you know what, I bet you he doesn't remember a thing. He remembers when you are…
