  • This is me exactly! Sparkling water is not going to taste like soda, but I found it was the fizz I missed not the taste. Also, the taste of sparkling water is better if you haven't had soda for a while IMO, probably because you're not used to super sweet things. It has been a lifesaver for me.
  • I make baked oatmeal and then divide the portions up for the rest of the week (or freeze them for later for variety). It's easy to reheat and requires no thought as to what I'm going to eat. Budgetbytes.com has a ton of baked oatmeal recipes, though I usually halve the amount of sugar called for.
  • I tend to be starving a few days before my period and then have zero hunger the first couple of days after I start. So I'm over my calorie goal a few days, under my calorie goal a few days, and then back to normal. Exercise helps with the cravings and also gives me some more calories to eat.
  • Make something tasty on your days off and freeze into individual portions all week. It doesn't have to be complicated. Make some chili one day (mine makes 8 servings) and curried chick peas the next (4 servings). In no time you'll, have some variety of things to grab and go.

If you are only 5 microwave minutes away from a healthy, filling meal, you're less likely to grab awful fast food. I strongly recommend the website budgetbytes.com. Her site is all…
  • I also am starving 3-5 days before my period and then have no appetite once my cycle begins. My biggest help to curb the cravings is cardio. A good hard run (and I hate running...though it is growing on me) helps take my mind off of food. I always feel great when I leave the gym, and I think that helps me feel more in…
  • Great Grains Double Fiber and Honey Wheat Bread. It's delicious.
  • Have you ever tried grilling them? I'm pretty sure that everything tastes better grilled-asapargus, sweet potatoes, corn, green peppers, onions, mushrooms. People at my work rave about green smoothies, but I'm too chicken to try one.
  • Today it's lasagna and a spinach salad with grapes for a snack later (why are red grapes so good?). I can't eat the same leftovers all week either, so I freeze them in single portion containers. It's wonderful for when you are running late. Also, take your pot roast or chicken and turn it into something else and freeze…
