I was down to 141.3 over the weekend and as of this morning I was down to 139.9.…
  • lol Nice Trick  It is doable if you plan on losing 2lbs a week. But it does get harder to lose the weight as you get closer to your goal weight because your body doesn't use as many calories as it used to. So creating a large deficit (1000cal deficit/day to lose 2lbs a week) gets more challenging. If you lose the…

  • You're very welcome :) I also weigh everything I eat so I understand your dilemma when it comes to understanding food labels if you are trying to do everything right.
  • Keep in mind that pasta weighs more after you cook it because it soaks up water, water has 0 calories so the caloric value doesn't change whether it's cooked or not. So the calories for 2oz dry has the same amount of calories as when it is cooked. The best thing for you to do is to weigh how much 2oz dry weighs after it's…
  • Well that depends on your eating habits the rest of the day. What happens when people skip meals or don't eat enough during the course of the day, you create a sort of deficit in your body and it will want to eat more/binge in the evening to make up for the lack of nutrition earlier on in the day. So to give you more…
  • From what I have learned in my Kinesiology and nutrition classes is when you lose weight you will inevitably lose some muscle mass as well. Muscles are made of protein which can sometimes be used by your body for energy. Especially if your workout is has a lot of cardio in it. That is why it is imparative that you include…
  • I don't have an expert answer but from my experience and that of my friends and family, the first 10-15lbs are more "feel better pounds". You start to feel a bit more energetic, you are getting into good habits, you sleep better etc. More psychological and physiological benefits. After 15-20lbs that's when you start to…
  • Most of it is most likely water weight. You lose a lot of that at the beginning of a fitness program, dieting or when attempting to lose weight. So don't get too disappointed if the number goes back up again. Just make sure you stay hydrated, watch your sodium intake and stick to your new regime and the number will start…
  • You look absolutely stunning! This is a really inspiring and motivating story! Thank you so much for sharing and keep up the amazing work! I was starting to slack off in my weight loss journey and making little excuses not to exercises or eat right. But seeing someone who has been successful and controlling those urges and…
  • Yup I agree with Slinksy (Sorry if it's spelled wrong). I've learned what she said, as long as you don't loose weight too drastically and do it through exercise and diet, you skin will adjust with you as you loose the weight. Of course sometimes there is an age factor because the older we get the less elasticity our skin…
  • Awesome message! Thanks for posting! It really got me thinking!
  • I used to have the same problem but started listening to pod casts, working out with a friend or watching tv. Or you might want to start doing your cardio a different way. Like buy dance dvd's or taebo or something fun like that depending on what your interest is. Cause that why you will feel you having fun while burning…
  • Welcome :) Feel free to add me. I'm trying to lose 34lbs. You can totally do this!
  • It's never a bad thing to eat lots of fruits and veggies. Maybe try eating more whole grain foods. They have a lot of good/healthy calories, plus they are filling. Eating more protein rich foods as well. Till you get above the 1,200 mark or reach your calorie goal.
  • I would say it's possible that it's broken. My scale started doing the same thing, but I kept it for another 2 weeks just to make sure it wasn't due to water fluctuations or something else and I ended up replacing it. Turns out it was telling me I was 3lbs heavier than I really was after stepping on 3 other scales that…
  • I aim for 450-550 calories per meal, with 200 calorie snakes in between. And so far I've been fairly successful staying within that range when I follow strict serving sizes.
  • I'm definitely in the same boat as you. With college and work I found it hard to find time to exercise and focus on me. But I'm determined to make it happen. Good luck with your journey :drinker:
