I'm kind of obsessed with CrossFit. Feel free to add me! I used to do it on and off a few years ago, then took a break for a few years because of work. Now I'm back at it full force and have been for nearly a year! :)

I'm taking a challenge for a few days via a bootcamp I do twice a week. It's day one and I'm already having a hard time lol although I only need 164 more carbs for the day instead of somewhere over 200. I made a nice bowl of quinoa with natural peanut butter and cinnamon (NOT cinnamon sugar). I highly recommend! It was…

I'm 5'4", weigh 148 and am in a size 12. The last time I wore anything smaller than a 12 I was in elementary school. Here's hoping!

I'm not sure what to think about this. I've gotten into so many arguments with people about whether or not to eat back burned calories. Right now I'm stuck in a rut as I train for my half marathon - there have been days when I eat back some or all of the burned calories, and there have been days when I haven't eaten them…

Jogging = running, so therefore you are a runner! Be proud! :-) I started running when I hit 165-160ish. This is my 3rd year of running and I'm at 148, but this is the first year that I also started watching my calories. I was hovering around 155 for a really long time. I've run 3 half marathons and am training for my 4th.…

I like to close my eyes (or just focus inward if i can't close my eyes) and think back to why I started working out in the first place. Being reminded of my goals always helps me out during tough days.

I've been running for a couple years now. Right now my miles are really low due to a strained IT band. :-( I would love to add any other runners as friends! Feel free to add. :)

Same, feel free to add! :-)

I've never heard of sports bras that can double as a hrm. That's really cool! Right now I use the hrm for my Garmin, which I wear about an inch or so under my sports bra. It stays in place pretty well, but I know some other people who have tiny waists (as in no fat with a 6 pack) who can't wear it because it slips off. I…

It varies depending on fitness and heavy vs light weights I think. I've seen people use heart rate monitors to measure their burn while lifting weights.

I'll get a dish out that's a small portion (we have 1/2 dishes that work well) and I'll try to only eat that much at a time. I like B&J because there are flavors that don't have any HFC or partially hydrogenated oils. :-D They taste like real ice cream and don't have the consistency of taffy. Edit: My favorite kind is Half…

I'm trying going out for walks. Other times I head out to the trail with my bike and just ride and ride and ride. It helps me feel like I'm getting away and let's me think about other things like "Oh look at all the turtles sitting on the logs."

hahaha what gave it away? ;-)

How does the system figure a protein goal? What's is based on?

I live near the Akron area, feel free to add!

On days when I work out I usually eat the extra calories as a snack or a bigger meal and I'm still losing 1lb per week. However, this is based on my calorie goal set for me by MFP. I did something similar to this a few years ago and lost 25lb the same way.

Thanks, going to try some of these!

Honestly, I never did a c25k program to start running. I would run as far as I could on the treadmill, and then walked the rest of the time to get a desired mileage (we had a treadmill challenge at my ymca and had to get 60 miles in 1 month). Then I joined a local running club and they helped me take it slow and increase…

Feel free to add me :)

I'm no sports nutritionist, but the only time I really eat after I exercise would be when I get back from a long run (running for 1:30 - 2 hours). Other than that, I usually don't worry about it.

Feel free to add me :-)

I'm new here too. Feel free to add me :-)

That helps me with general food cravings sometimes, because I don't like the taste of toothpaste. This is definitely an adjustment, as I used to turn to some food to settle my stomach, help headaches, etc. I've found that my injured ITB tolerates a bike REALLY well. I was out riding on the trail for an hour today and…

This is all awesome advice! Thanks everyone :-)

When I started running, I just went by how my body felt. Sometimes I would get cramps in my stomach and I would then tell my brain to focus on how my legs and breathing felt. If all that was fine, I could keep on going. I started at whatever pace I could keep while still being able to talk. Now, my talking wasn't like I…
