Depending on what I'm make my husband, I will either eat the same protein and have it with vegetables only or, if I don't want what I'm making him, I keep plenty of options in the freezer. I always have roasted vegetables and spaghetti squash on hand.

I make this all the time with ground chicken. Freezes really well also. http://www.slenderkitchen.com/recipe/sunday-slow-cooker-turkey-picadillo

I don't know how I forgot about Liuzzas by the Track! It is right down the block from my daughter's apartment. The BBQ shrimp po boy is so good that every time I go to NOLA my husband begs me to bring one home for him.

I agree! My daughter went to Tulane (and worked at Domenica) and now is in med school there and throughout the years we've been to MANY different places. I would also recommend Borgne, Peche, Shaya, Jacques Imo's and Boucherie. If you want a fancy dinner, one of my favorites is GW Fins. If you're looking for breakfast…

My husband is Italian and his family does the 7 fishes for Christmas Eve but, since I'm hosting with my family, we will have lots of shrimp and lobster. Christmas Day is lasagne and zucchini lasagne, filet mignon roast, mashed potatoes, mashed cauliflower and roasted vegetables.

Your posts are amazing! I wish you posted a recipe or two...or three :)

I love just about all vegetables...as long as they're roasted. Roasted cauliflower, broccoli, peppers, zucchini, asparagus, brussel sprouts, green beans, spaghetti squash.

I am not vegan or vegetarian but I adhere to a strict eating plan. Whenever I go to a family meal, I bring food that I can eat. Of course, I make enough for anyone else in attendance who may want to have it.

My husband is Italian so on Christmas Eve their tradition is having 7 fishes...We don't do that but it is all seafood based. We have lobster in red sauce, baked lobster, shrimp every which way and calzones. Christmas day is usually a filet mignon roast with all different sides.

I have never counted calories. Since changing the foods I eat many years ago, I have never found a need to.

For ME, quite a lot of ingredients. As we all know, everyone has different ideas of what it healthy. And, I believe, if she wanted recipes for "regular" cookies, she would have asked for that.

These are both definitely not low in calories but are full of healthy ingredients...and they're delicious. http://www.allergyfreealaska.com/2012/12/06/guilt-free-pecan-pie-cookies/ http://detoxinista.com/2014/07/the-healthiest-cookies-ever-paleo-vegan/

Maintaining between 110-113.

Yes, and focusing on portion control was your decision. I, like many others, have chosen different paths. I don't think one way is superior to another as it comes down to what each individual's goals are and what works best for them.

Why does it matter to anyone why she has chosen to give it up? She never asked for peoples opinions on her decision, just asked for some helpful hints on ways to do so!

I believe she said refined sugar.

Almond butter!

Yes, I gave it up years ago. For me, the difficult part was getting through the first two weeks. Since you're giving up refined sugar, you can substitute fruit or dried fruit. If you find yourself struggling, these cookies are delicious and so easy to make. I obviously make them without the chocolate chips.…

I make a huge roasted vegetable and egg casserole and eat it throughout the week.

Let me start by saying I have always been thin. While I was pregnant with my second child after gaining and losing 50+ pounds with my first, my husband's Italian grandmother started yelling at me in Italian (I don't speak Italian). After asking my husband to translate I found that she said "hopefully you will be able to…

I drink the Almond Breeze unsweetened vanilla and it has no aftertaste.

Yes, I quit sugar a years ago and do not miss it. I started the South Beach Diet and, after a couple of weeks, I realized that I didn't crave it and I felt better than I ever had. I don't restrict it for dieting purposes as I only had less than 10 lbs to lose when I started, I just feel great! For me, there's just no…
