Mine played some when he was young then got really into it the last few years, which has been fun. He's a 3.5 which is quite impressive given he didn't play at all 5 years ago...but thankfully he's not a 4.0 yet so I usually beat him when we actually play a set. :) I'm used to playing women, so it takes me a few games to…

This may be a silly question, but how soft is your bedding? You mentioned that you often wake up with acne, and I've had this happen before when sleeping away from home on sheets that were washed with something harsh or have a "rough" feel (I have super sensitive skin). In addition to skin care routines, I'd suggest…

You look amazing!! Love that dress too!!

I'm 5'3"...currently 135 and hoping to get to about 120-125!

I'd also suggest paying attention to and working on your footwork. I think we've all had the experience of getting tired in a match and overreaching for a shot or not taking those last couple of steps to make sure you're in the proper place for a solid shot. Fitness and cardio health are a part of making sure you have…

Singles is definitely better for fitness, but I prefer doubles since I'm a serve-and-volley-er, so I love being at the net. I try to work in singles when I can though because it helps me improve on my consistency.

Starting: Size 12 pants weighing 158 lbs Currently: Size 6 pants, weigh 132 lbs I'm 5' 3".

I'd like him to go to the Redskins since I'm in the process of moving to the DC area so I could see him play there. :) And he wouldn't be in the AFC anymore. I'm a Colts fan though, so cheering for them (and Luck!?) will always take priority.

That's wonderful!! Being able to play with a regular group and on a "team" if possible can be great for your game. I'm really going to miss the women I play with here in New England when I move, but hopefully northern Virginia has some people into tennis too. :) Keep us posted on your league progress!!

Thanks so much for all of the info! Using the MFP tool, my estimated BMR is 1278. If I merely replace the 1450 in your equation above (which may not be the right replacement...correct me if necessary), my TDEE would be 1981 and with a restriction of 20% I'd be at almost 1600...which is a bit more than I typically eat. I…

I have not been following the beach body meal plan. During P90X last year, I upped my net calorie intake to 1500 after hitting a plateau and have mostly stuck with that goal since. I'd say I net 1300-1600 most days and focus on getting at least 80-100 g of protein. I appreciate any advise you have and am very willing to…

Hi everyone! I'm Colleen and in my 3rd week of Phase 2. I haven't lost any weight yet, which has frustrated me a bit, but I have been getting stronger and in much better shape, clothes are fitting better, and I'm getting muscle definition back which is awesome. I'll probably do 2 more weeks of this phase...then move onto…

I'm 5'3" and trying to get to the low 120s, but 125 is my first goal...currently 132. Feel free to add me!

Not to thread hijack, but I'd highly suggest eating more. I hit two plateaus in my journey, both of which were broken by upping my net calories 100-200. If you're working out hard you need to feed that body and all those muscles you've worked hard to build!

5'3" here...currently down to 132 from 158, and hoping to get to 125 by the summer.

Plain Greek yogurt, avocado, almonds, olive oil, fish, and plenty of fresh fruits and veggies.

5'3" 132 lbs size 6-8 (stupid fat clinging to my lower butt/upper thigh is the only thing keeping me from being a "true" 6)

During my first plateau, I went from 1200 to 1400, then I upped things to 1500 net for my second plateau. Not accounting for exercise, I eat about 1800-2000 calories a day (depending on my activity level...I eat back my exercise calories).

I echo the "hang in there"!! I'm a fellow shorty who faced several plateaus...they do end. Unfortunately it's not straightforward to figure out why the scale won't go down, but if you're losing inches, focus on that since really that's more improtant than the scale anyway!! For me, I had to eat more to break through my…

No big resolutions for me, but I am going to work on my mental game in 2012 as that's usually my biggest hindrance. I'd like to push myself to become a 4.5 rated player, but I know that I won't get there until I win the mental battle with myself and play with confidence at all times. I'll be moving to the DC area sometime…

I'm also guessing you need to eat more if you're having trouble losing. I'm 5'3" and hit 2 plateaus...the first around 140lbs and the second around 133 lbs, both of which I surpassed by eating more calories as I was doing a lot of strength training and gained a lot of muscle. Can't see your diary, but I would suggest…

I'm 5'3" and currently weigh 129 lbs. I'd love to reach the low 120s while being toned and strong. Feel free to add me anyone!

You've been such an inspiration and have done an amazing job!! You look awesome and I can't wait to join you near 120 lbs. :)
-
Definitely join FaugHorn's group for more ideas, but I would recommend hill training (walking and running), interval running, and focusing on balance/agility. Many people I was running near had trained, like me, by running 5Ks...but most of this race was spent sprinting around zombies or walking through inches of slippery…

I usually thank people for being sweet/flattering by saying they think I don't have any more to lose and just tell them that I have a little more to do before I'm where I want to be. I try to make it more about overall fitness and health rather than a focus on weight...like "well I still would like to be in better shape"…

This is definitely something that helps one really develop. I play against mostly 4.5 women in my fall/winter league, and I've quickly learned to never give up on a point (because they can almost always return my good shots) and to stay more mentally focused because they rarely make mistakes or miss a chance to clobber one…

I think I'm also down a pound, but TOM's arrival and a sodium filled weekend are keeping me from the scale for a couple of days. I'd love to finally be in my goal weight "decade"!
-
What an awesome NSV!! So much of tennis is good footwork and being able to get to tough shots and keep the point alive. I've also noticed my game has vastly improved since I've lost weight for these reasons, but I'm far from being a champion at my rating level...how cool!! Best of luck to you in the play-offs!! Keep us…

I plan on doing this as well!! I did the first one in Baltimore last month and it was a blast!!
