Questioning whatever I want to do - wondering if I am too big for whatever - like riding in the kid train with my grandson. Or feeling embarrassed because I take up so much room I always bump the person next to me.

I just completed my 8th week, 5 days a week, never missed. I am a little disappointed that I have yet to lose any weight. My coach tries to encourage me, but yeah, I want to see it. The inches and weight are not moving. Encouragement needed. (FYI I do avg 4.1 on my hard days, and 3.6 on my 80% days, and I burn between 360…

I had a gameboy I had a rota When I was growing up not only did we have a rotary phone, party lines were still a problem, there were no game boys and we only had 4 tv channels. I remember when Atari first came out and we played "tennis" for hours. So I am thinking I am old?

I keep trying things. This week I found something that worked for me. For 4 days I ate only vegetables, 2 servings of fruit and a protein shake. I lost an inch off my belly. Obviously I need more protein so I am adding it back in slowly. What I plan to continue to avoid are grains. For a long while (maybe a couple months…

Regardless of how hard it is to get to the gym, remember how GOOD you feel when you leave it!

1200 plus what you earn exercising equals what you should eat. The 1200 like everyone says is about average if your goal is 2 lb a week. But if you exercise you should be eating your additional calories.
-
Someone also mentioned that you shouldn't go by MFP for calories burned. Just a reminder - I have to change mine always as they are off 100+ every time.

Me too.

I am surprised about the statement "you have to be mentally ready to lose weight." Whether you lose weight fast or slow, you have to be mentally ready to stick to a plan that dramatically changes your life. I am obese and every day I have a mental debate on my food choices, the argument I have with myself every morning to…

Honey is a natural anti inflammatory. I personally believe it good for you. All things in moderation.

You look amazing. Congratulations for persevering and achieving your goals. I would say you are a hottie but that would make me out to be a cougar!
-
I think the goal is when you feel healthy and happy.
-
Depends of if it is water soluble or fat soluble. Water soluble vitamins simply flush away. Fat soluble vitamins store in fat cells. You really have to consume a lot to get there if you are talking whole foods.

I don't get a choice. I was born curvy. Even in the Army when I was my smallest, I had the curves.

Book a cruise with friends we haven't seen since I was 20. We didn't go last year because I was just too embarrassed by my looks.
-
Just let it go. You enjoy time with the family. Now get back on track. It is a lifetime commitment, not a short term solution. Ups and downs are part of life. The only mistake you would make is to not get back on track when you are at home.

I am 5'2 and current 185. I was 127 in the army 25 years ago. I would love to be there now, but my primary goal is under 140.

Exactly. When I lift heavy it hurts my hands and makes it hard to hold my grip.
-
Ditto what was said. I am trying to limit my sugar intake, so I avoid any processed sugar and I limit my fruit to 1-2 a day.
-
This is a long term solution to a long term problem. We will have days that we eat more than others. Like someone said, log it and move on. If you have 10 days meeting your goals, you are doing terrific. Do not let one day make you crazy.

What an inspiration. This is what I wanted/needed to hear. If you can do this, I can too. Thank you for being so detailed in your blog. Trying to stay at 1200 was driving me insane, but bumping it up a bit made me feel guilty. I am so glad you have your family together again. God bless you and yours, and those still…

I think those that suggested working in some yoga or other lengthening, stretching move will help you. And it is said lift less weight and more reps to slim, more weight and less reps to bulk - it is the story I have always heard. Good Luck!

I was 35 when I had my hysterectomy. I have steadily gained since - now I am 48. I was very motivated and lost 12 lb, now I am in a rut and can not get my motivation back. I keep watching the boards looking for motivation. Don't let yourself get to where I am now, I need to lose 50 lb. The worst for my is the flab over my…

When in doubt - go natural. Agreed. There is so much unknown about man-made chemicals put into foods. The problem is it will be another 50 years before true studies can be done based on historical data. Once or twice a week? Well, that seems like a minimal amount to consider in a lifetime of choices.
-
Absolutely LOVE this. I was going to post it so I am glad you did. It really opened my eyes to what I should be doing.
-
Check you out! You have done a tremendous job achieving your goals and being the role model your children deserve. MOST FABULOUS!

There is a good chance it is water weight, but also depends on your size. One week its okay. If you consistently lose that much and are not extremely obese, I would say be sure to meet all your macros. Regardless, hitting your macros is important.
-
I agree with everyone. Make sure you take full advantage of this website. It has opened my eyes to what real healthy eating looks like. You need more protein and less carbs and sugars - be adamant about sticking close to your macros . Like someone said, cut out the juices. Good Luck!

I have lost the equivalent of chemical additives an American consumes each year, but I plan to lose a penis too!

I am an emotional binge eater as well. I agree - I had to stop having things in the house to binge on. If I want to eat something I have to actually prepare a meal of sorts - that slows the binging down for me. My husband went a different route - he chews a lot of flavored gum when he finds himself searching for something…
