It shouldn't. Just watch out for calorie heavy creamers, sugars, milk, etc in your coffee.

I think MFP has her workouts in their exercise database. Just open up the exercise log and type in a search for it.

Out of sight, out of mind. Or at least, not in front of me = won't scarf it down. I try to keep snacks in the house to a minimum and when I can't, I put them up on the way highest shelf in the kitchen. Having things that aren't going to fall at eye level can really help.

That's what I do.

I am hungry. 8/10, would gnosh. And possibly bang, depending on how much longer it is till I get lunch.

I'm a misanthropic pessimist atheist whom consumes pills by the handful and occasionally considers making cats into stew. Besties???

They don't?

Agreed. 15 pounds a month is extremely unrealistic. The average and healthy weight loss is one to two pounds a week and those are good weeks. Your body isn't going to drop it like clockwork, nor is it going to drop it like you're on on The Biggest Loser. Please think about evaluating your timeframe so you don't get…

Paying attention to the media I am consuming is a major tactic I use when dealing with my mental health issues as well. I take my medication faithfully, write, and concentrate on "small victories." I write my goals for the day. Very simple things, such as shower, or make the bed. Eat two meals or scoop out the litter box.…

Judging by your join date, it makes sense that you're not hungry. Yet. Give it a month and you'll be battling the urge to eat everything in sight, ESPECIALLY since you're probably netting around 600 cals a day with your exercise. Rather than torture yourself, start bumping up your cals now. At the very least, eat your…

Drink more water to drink more water. That said, I have three or four water bottles and keep them in the fridge. I'm constantly switching them out, since cold water is tastier to me. Just make sure you always have water near you.

What's your calorie goal? The first few weeks are always a bit of a tummy growling pain in the *kitten*. Assuming your calorie goal is appropriate, it will ease. In the meantime, check out suggestions for filling snacks, drink lots of fluids, and be nice to yourself. This is a big change. It's going to take some getting…

Most people hit a plateau some months into it, when your body adjusts to the lower calories and increased exercise. At that point, it's usually just a matter of switching something up a little (trying a new exercise or upping one nutrition macro or another) and just waiting. It generally settles out. It doesn't necessarily…

Running has a point where neither foot is touching the ground. Very briefly so, but no foot contact. At least that's how I've had it explained. If you're trying to log it using MFP's exercise calculator, it just does speeds, so you can log it under "walking x speed", even if you are running or jogging.

Diet is the only thing that will get rid of the fat around your muscles. But don't give up hope - doing the workouts will give you a nice set of abs to show once you trim down.

 LOVE that gif!

They did. They also died at 40 and lived in caves.

One CAN feel a bit of rush in eating healthier, but if you're starting to feel high from not eating enough, that's a dangerzone right there.

Several of my medications for my bi-polar did cause weight gain. The truth of the matter is that I have to see it as part of the trade-off, elsewise I won't want to stay on my meds. I'd rather lose weight more slowly than go insane very quickly. At least that's how I have to think of it. I did read that a medication that…

Self-control is a buzzword. It's less like imposing an iron will on yourself and more about just making the next better choice. Don't think about controlling your food intake this week. Just think about making the healthier decisions for dinner. That's it. Think short term. The rest will take care of itself.
-
Portion control. Hands down, that's my hardest hurdle.

 You almost had me there!

These were my thoughts entirely on the subject.

Those are good ideas! We do not have a cat tree nor toys that hang from door knobs. I could make a cardboard house - that's fantastic! I haven't tried crumbled up paper. Thank you - these are great!

I can't brain right now because of a paper making it melty, but I wanted to say: This is a very well written, very cohesive post. It lays out your situation, questions, and concerns very comprehensively.

I would also be interested in this thread. One of our cats is overweight, no matter how timed the feedings are. What kinds of exercises can you do with a cat? She will bat at a string for a few minutes but then loses interest and doesn't want to do anything.

I can't give you any practical advice but I can say that you are wise and self-aware to notice the changes. You are correct - that is an unhealthy relationship with food. Hopefully others with similar experiences can chime in here and tell you what they did to make things better!

The things I "get off on" aren't on this website. Sorry to disappoint you.
