Isn't Phentermine basically government grade speed/meth?

Going that low will screw with your body's ability to process anything above that, which could lead to quick and massive weight gain as soon as you start eating like a regular human being. Just an endless roller coaster. Why don't you try boosting it to 1,200 - 1,400? You will be surprised how much more satisfied you'll…

You'll notice diet aids always have the caveat "along with a balanced diet and exercise." That tells you what's doing the actual work.

Over exercising has been known to reduce appetite. If you're burning over 6 thousand calories in exercise, I'd suggest cutting back on the exercise. At that rate, you're netting far below 0 calories, which can do all kinds of wonky and dangerous things to your body.

As others have said, I think it's okay to bake cookies with your granddaughter. You can always adjust your calorie count tomorrow. Eating cookies is a temporary thing. Kids being young enough to want to help you make cookies? That time is so precious and goes so fast. Have cookies!

Like lemur said, depends on what you need. My BFF just got diagnosed with diabetes. Macros are DEFINITELY something he needs to pay attention to. Me? Not so much, as outside of the poundage, I haven't health issues otherwise. Though it never hurts to make sure you're not filling your calorie goal with, like, eight twinkies.

1,200 calories, if you are really worried about calorie count, is a decent place to start with - at least waaaay healthier than 800. I like to use Scooby's calculator. It calculates calorie needs and goals and can even give you a rough estimate of how many calories you'll need in roughly how many meals you eat.…

There for a while black bean *brownies* were all the rage on MFP. I'll admit never having the balls to try it myself.

You can teach yourself *rightnow* how to count calories and have healthy foods. Why wait over half a year to do it? Why put that off? You'll be even more tired, hungry, and panicky if you wait till the last minute to educate yourself. And some of those people probably are smaller....for now. What most people don't tell you…

How long have you been at this? The human body is not a static thing. It takes time, it dips up and down, you eat too much salt one day and gain 3 pounds on the scale but drink a lot of water the next day and are down 4 pounds on the scale and maybe you were on your feet a while one day and that swelled them up a little or…

This is the key thing. Okay, you made it 7 months eating 800 calories. That means anything - and I do mean ANYTHING - you put into your body past that 800 calories is going to pile on the pounds, which means you'll have to do another 800 calorie run, which means when you get to your goal weight and eat more (because 800 is…

900 calories a day is generally referred to as a starvation diet. Less than that is not only unhealthy, but setting yourself up for failure as the body (1) needs more than that to survive and (2) will almost invariably lead to binging because 800 calories is not satisfying. That's, like, two packages of Ramen a day.…

All of my friends are getting struck down with diet related health issues. My best friend of 36 was just diagnosed with diabetes. Another friend of mine had a heart attack at 39 years old. Another friend developed weight related arthritis at 40. That *kitten*'s scaring me damn straight.

My guess is that meat has high levels of iron and protein, which is harder to get with a plant based diet. Not impossible, not at all impossible, but harder. It's part of why I wouldn't want to give up meat. Meat is easy. I like easy.

I gained 40 pounds on Ami. I was on it for psych reasons (sedative) and thankfully had to DC, since it wasn't effective in helping my brain do its brainy any better. If you respond well to anti-depressants as sleep aids (Ami is an AD), you might try a low dose of Trazadone. That's what I went to afterwards, and I had…

So fruits are like Gremlins.....wonder how that works. What if you're in a plane and you're crossing time zones while you're munching down on an apple?
-
This. Try boosting your cal count up a few hundred. It sounds scary, but trust me, it'll be way easier to stick with, thus you'll continue to lose weight.

ND? That's him in the picture.

I respond to the public threads that I feel like responding to. The baffling ones in particular, such as this one and its ilk. This is part of the "danger" of public forums. Very rarely have I felt someone should not have responded to a thread, and that's generally when the OP's immediate health (physical or mental) was in…

This. And this: I think it's some twisted novelty thing. Like "I used to over-eat, but now that I'm eating healthy, I just caaaaan't get my required calories, isn't that so cool that an overweight person can, like, have this problem? Isn't this AWESOME?" The answer is simple: How do you eat more? Find food. Open mouth.…

I LOVE fast food. LOVE. Let me say the word "LOVE" here very, VERY STRONGLY. And I'll never give it up. Like, ever. So this is what I do: Order a burger, skip the fries and soda. Go to Ihop: Order the biscuits and gravy plate with hashbrowns, eggs, the works - and also request a box while ordering. Halve the whole thing…

Iknowrite? It's like I keep half expecting we will see something, but it's all half started sentences and thoughts. Like me saying "I like......except without.....yeah, that's what I...." I mean, it's FUNNY, but for entirely different reasons than I'm sure the OP wants it to be.

This might be insulting....if it made any kind of sense. Sadly, incoherent just isn't very insulting at all. It is, however, exceedingly amusing.

Mirey has worked EXTREMELY hard to get her body to its current form - and she has been absolutely wonderful in providing members advice and support concerning their own health.

I'd say sheer, original ignorance for the most part. People don't know that weight loss is actually fairly slow. They watch the Biggest Loser, or TV and magazine and radio ads which promise things like 7 pounds in a week, etc etc. Lots of people really have no idea what the work behind weight loss really is because our…

Dude - what is your DEAL? You know between this and other threads, you're coming off as a total creeper, right???
-
Simple - not easy. Big difference.
-
BEAUTIFUL! Love this. Right on target.
-
Cha-ching. This.

Agreed. The poster who made that remark was unkind. The OP is obviously dealing with a diagnosable disorder and doesn't need that kind of nastiness directed towards her.
