BEST. BREAKUP. EVAH!!! Seriously, I don't even know if I'd be mad.

This. If you want the weight off and want it to stay off, eat more, exercise more. Starvation does nothing but set the body up for a depressing and shaming roller coaster. There are better ways to do this. Also, try working on things that will help you love yourself. Self-loathing never made anyone happy. You can do this.…

Your best bet to lose that much weight that fast is to lop off a limb. Which I hope you won't do. Adjust your expectations so you don't suffer burnout and ragequit. After all, wouldn't 40 pounds lost in that time be better than nothing?

I have this problem, at least related to housework. If I don't have a tidy house, I go out of my mind. I simply can't relax. To a fault. Like rightnow, there are catboxes to be scooped out, dishes to be done, and a carpet to vacuum. And I know that I won't be able to do much of anything else until those things are cleaned.…

Try eating those calories before you exercise, earlier in the day. Might take a few times to get the numbers right, but it should help. Cardio drops my appetite, so that's what I do if I know I'm going to have a big burn later in the day.

I actually prefer men/women who are on the chubby side. So yes.

I have no advice to give, but just wanted to put in my support. I hope you feel better soon.

Me too. :(

My boyfriend has....to put it nicely, "the finely developed palate of your average American 8 year old." Pretty much exactly as you stated. Says he hates a lot of food, is extremely picky, yadda yadda yadda. Bland. Beige food. Won't eat anything with a funny sounding name. So on and so forth. There is absolutely nothing to…

If it comes up, just say "Doctor's orders. Cutting down salt intake" or something. That usually works without opening up the whole "diet" can of worms.

Cleanses never name even a single "toxin" that is cleared out by the cleanse itself. Any toxins it names is dealt with by the body naturally. Hate to say it, but you bought an overpriced pill/juice/etc. A cleanse doesn't start you over, it just prolongs relearning good habits.

I'm a recovering addict, too. I agree that getting new friends can help. OP: If you're having a truly hard time quitting, you might try a 12 step, even for a little while. And congrats on your 60 days!

Much in the same way that people use the word "depression" and the way that people with clinical depression use the word "depression", it's extremely valid to say that usage of the word "safe food" points to anoretic patterns. It is EXTREMELY common terminology in the ED world. Simply because you have not heard it used…

Yeeeah - I'd say you've been put on, honey. Four years, won't contact you, only visits on weekends, won't stay the night, and won't let you come to his house? Sorry. :(

Thank you. My thoughts exactly.

I'm going to take a guess here and say that as long as your eating habits remain largely under control, you should be okay. A body doesn't work on a straight day by day basis. A binge one day will not automatically equal five pounds the next day. As you recover more, your lifting should improve right along with it.…

Aw man, why'd you have to put cute and disgusting in ONE IMAGE, MAN? *tsk tsk's disappointedly*

If there is to be regret, let's at least make it solvent.

Uh-huh.

Wow that was fast. I didn't even pull out the Buffy gifs yet.

One plan will not work for everyone, no. I can't eat just once a day, I'd be heaving my guts out. So yes, tailored health plans are good. But not everyone is a special snowflake. Some basic biology will always apply universally across the board. Healthy lifestyle for me: 1) Don't hurt yourself. 2) Don't hurt others. and…

That was my initial thought as well. Please, OP, seek help. Food is neither safe nor unsafe, and holding onto the idea that some foods are is disaster.

This sounds more like the real issue. You're not upset that they are eating and you're not. You're upset that you're not part of the clique. Which is fine, but preemptively assigning all these negative traits towards them isn't going to make them want to hang with you. If you want to hang with them, hang. If you don't,…

Might be better if you created your own topic about that. You'll get more specific and tailored replies. It's also general forum etiquette to not "hijack" a thread by asking unrelated questions in another thread. (Not trying to be harsh, MFP seems to be a lot of people's first internet foray, so it's possible you didn't…

Even if I put my goals at half a pound a week, MFP still tries to stick me on 1,200 a day. I use Scooby's and go from there. http://scoobysworkshop.com/accurate-calorie-calculator/

I have a loved one who suffers from dysthymia as well. Thank you for posting this, I will be forwarding it to them!

Eat when you're hungry. Don't eat when you're not. Since this is an isolated incident, one day of being under or over won't hurt.

This. And any number of things can generate a particular habit of paying attention to those things. Children who grow up in abused or unstable homes, adults who find themselves in unstable jobs or relationships - it's a coping mechanism. Built to help read the unspoken signals of when **** is about to rain down from the…
