  • I find a lot of conflicting entries for foods in the database. I usually check for an average one, or go to the products web site to see what the manufacturer says it is. I usually log in before I eat so I know if I can afford what I want. This is especially helpful when I'm going to restaurants. I don't worry as much…
  • What I love about MFP is it doesn't feel like a diet. I still eat the foods I want, just smaller amounts. I treat it like a game, staying under my calories means I won. If I want something really bad for me, I pace myself the rest of the day so I can afford the calories.
  • If it makes you happy, screw what other people think!
  • I don't know what skinny people do, but I cook things that will take all day to cook. Smoked brisket, or pulled pork. Things that take 10+ hours to cook. Keeps me busy and involved with food, without eating it all day.
  • This site is a great place to start. I've had success just by using this and being accountable for my calories. Having the app on my phone helps because I never have an excuse not to stay on top of my calories. I treat it like a game, and every day I'm under calories, I win. Makes it sort of fun. Well, sort of.
  • You might be able to find some good ideas here: http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/forum/list/170/dutch-oven-recipes I use the site for smoking meats, but they have a less active Dutch Oven section. There are lots of helpful people there.
  • That's the main reason MFP works for me. It's not something that will be totally undone by screwing off one day every so often. I can still eat whatever I want, but by having to be accountable for the calories, I'm having smaller portions and skipping things when I don't have enough calories left. As long as you stay on…

  • From Sacramento, no wonder you're in need of motivation. Lol There's way too much good food there! Just visited my family there a couple weeks ago and practically lived at Sam's Hof Brau! Between that & Jimboy's I'd be done for if I lived there again. Best of luck, this site & app should make it easier.
  • It's a great site. Having the app on my phone makes it so easy, there's no excuse not to stay on top of it. The calorie reductions are so gradual that it doesn't seem as tough to stick to as I thought it would be. I find it's easier to enter my foods before I eat, at home and at restaurants. That way I know if what I'm…
  • I treat it like a game. Every day I come in under calories, I win. Having it on my phone makes it so easy, there's no excuse not to always do it. I also find it easier if I log in what I'm going to eat, before I eat it. Lets me know what I can afford to eat. Following the calorie limits set by MFP don't seem to bad after a…
  • That's not bad. As long as you get back on track tomorrow you should be in good shape.

  • I try not to go much lower than the calories MFP tells me to eat. I figure a very gradual reduction in calories will be easier to stick to over the long haul. This is working well for me because it doesn't feel like a diet. I still eat the foods I want, but being accountable for the calories makes a huge difference.
  • Chicken breast. Fills me up big time, for very little calories.
  • Chicken breast Sugar free Jello pudding 100 calorie kettle corn Tootsie pops Crystal light
  • I take a thermos with 2 packages of sugar free Swiss Miss hot chocolate, then pick up a parfait at McDonalds. Only 210 calories and it keeps me content until lunch.
  • Been doing this since Nov. I treat the app like a game on my phone. It's all part of the game to stay under my calories. Each day I succeed, I win.

  • Your prom is a special event. I wouldn't worry about going over for that day/night. If you're a little careful with your choices that night, good for you. Just have fun & get back on track the next day.
  • I just treat MFP like a game on my phone. I have fun filling in my calories, usually before I eat. Then when I stay under for the day, I feel like I've won the game.
  • Chocolate or caramel mini rice cakes. Also 100 cal packs of Cheez-its.
  • Chicken breast, chicken breast, and more chicken breast!

  • Smoked chicken is incredible & low in calories. I have it at least 4 or 5 times most weeks. Never ordered it though. After trying lots of different ways of baking it, I broke down & bought a good sized smoker. Easy to use, & makes my garage smell great. I usually smoke 10-12 pounds at a time, & my wife & I eat it all week.
  • 30 Rock The Office The Walking Dead Been able to hang out with Judah Friedlander of 30 Rock a bunch due to my work. He's so funny & so much fun. If you ever get the chance to catch his stand-up show, do it.

  • I've always liked what Steven Wright said: What would a chair look like if your knees bent the other way?
  • Hahahahaha those blogs are great! Get writing, I want to read more. They remind me tone wise, of Joe Bob Briggs' books. And that's about the highest complement possible! Have you ever read any of Joe Bob's stuff? If not, you should check it out. He's a riot too.
  • As my wife was about to call her friend who grew up in Mexico City, convinced her that pendejo meant "good friend". When her friend answered the phone, she was so happy to greet her with"Hola pendejo!"
  • It's immoral for any company to steal from artists like this! Supporting companies that do this just perpetuates the problem. I run into similar problems as the convention mgr for Troma films. Just about every convention I work at, I have to go around the first day & confiscate bootleg dvds from vendors. People are greedy…
