  • I hope you are proud, that was some hard work! You look happy, and healthy, and are glowing! Well done you xx
  • Ok, I am going to be brutally honest because I am there.....and I am kinda writing this for me too. What is 'failure'? Not going to the gym this week? Having an unhealthy lifestyle? Failure is different things to different people. You have a perfectly working body. It may not be the shape/size you would like it to be, but…
  • Excellent work! x
  • Houmous and crudites?
  • What an excellent motivational thread! Huge congratulations to those ladies that have posted, and to those that are still a work in progress like myself, we will get there! I  MFP

  • Well, Got to the gym on Friday to have a look in prep for s5x5, and some dufus had put three super heavy bars on the squat rack, right in the middle, and they were too low for me to avoid and too heavy for me to move :/ I used the bench press machine, and managed 15kg 5x5 which I was quite pleased with, Then used 8kg…
  • Thanks Girls, The big bar is in the scary gym bit :/ Im going in early tomorrow, so I might just have a sneaky feel to gauge the weight and just see what I can do. Am I correct in that the first starting weight is 20kg/44lb which is the empty bar? I don't know if I could do 5x5 but I will have a go.
  • Im now an MFP addict as opposed to fb. Tis the first thing I check in the am, to see what my stateside friends have been up too, I have the app on my phone, and the last thing I check at night.... and its all FREEEEEEEE!!!!! Amazing that there are so many people in the same situation, just trying darn hard to be better.…
  • Just a little update, wore my ft4 to the gym today, did 29 mins and burned 260 calories, Didnt even know I was wearing it, very comfy and its nice to see an accurate personal calorie burn.
  • Yes, I thought that may be the case.... a fit bit or such.

  • Hey all! Im a Stroke Nurse working in the UK, feel free to add me ;)
  • To be honest, I've had a few aha moments, but stupidly ignored them. I looked shocking in my wedding photos.... I couldn't enjoy the day because I felt I was the 'fat bride' I had pre-eclampsyia when pregnant and was induced at 37 weeks. Finding out I weighed more than my Dad! I work on a Stroke Unit, and am seeing more…
  • THIS!! Thanks so much for this, I really need to hear it.... Congratulations on your losses! x
  • What an excellent thread! So glad I stumbled across this! I'm 5'4, currently at 204lb, (was 222 before MFP) I always think how slim can my body realistically go? I have huge hips and *kitten* but your pics prove that my body can slim down quite nicely if I continue to work hard! Keep going.... I'm right behind you!
  • Glad I'm not the only one, I'm not struggling with food so much, (apart from not eating enough!) but the scales part. I know numbers are just that, numbers, not a reflection of how I look in the mirror or feel, but I just want that little plastic pointer to ease up a bit!! BUT, It only moves if I move, so here's to another…
  • Hey, Didnt want to read and run.... Just wanted to let you know you're not the first to feel this funk, and you sure wont be the last! Im feeling it right now too, It took a long time for that weight to creep on, and it will take its time to come off, healthily and safely. Keep going, one day at a time. 'You're already…
  • Any david guetta, especially titanium :)
  • ok, IM A RESOLUTIONIST!!! Yes I joined in Jan because my local gym was offering a a very good deal (I know thats the point but still) surely me getting my derriere and off the couch is better than sitting at home stewing in my own juices? I have been debating joining the gym several times, because the act of actually going…

  • Wow, interesting reading.... I'm 5'4, currently at 204lb, and MFP put my calorie intake at 1800, Maybe I should reduce it too 1500 coupled with excercise? I work shifts as a Nurse, so dont often have three main meals. I am planning to use fruit in my snack breaks at work.
  • Hey, Another Newbie in Manchester here, Fell off the wagon far too many times and this time really need to hold on! So, anyone else willing to buddy up and share?!
  • Hi there, Im a Stroke Nurse in the UK, I work either 7.30-3.30 or 1p-9p, 5 shifts a week, but we are currently in the process of our trust changing to 12 hour shift patterns. I find eating ' breakfast' hard, because for me that means before work, and I just don't have time If I am dropping my daughter at childcare, so then…
  • Im on board! Sucks to get to 30 and realise I still feel exactly the same way I did as a teenager! I owe it to my 4 year old daughter to have a healthy mum, and a healthy wife for my husband, I hated my wedding pics. So, I'm here, I'm present, and got my gym induction tomorrow!! ---- eeeeeek! More seats spare on the…
