Yes - shopping spree will be my treat!

I TOTALLY agree - worse than a bad breakup. I cried SO MUCH over the end of our friendship and really needed to heal after it.

I had a toxic friend - she was my world, best friend, for 20 years. When I got into my first serious relationship I had to split my time between her and my boyfriend (now my husband). She made my life miserable, she made me feel guilty for spending a weekend with him and not getting drunk and going clubbing with her. She…

Went to my gyno and she said "You gained 30 pounds in a year". When she put it like that I was shocked. I gained 30 pounds???? I wasnt looking at a scale so I thought OK clothes are tighter but i'm alright. But still, I went on. Then I realized I had a double chin in every picture I took and was blaming it on the camera…

Thanks All! I didnt even think of squeezing in a work out before hand - that's a great idea as well. I'll take all this advice, it makes me feel less anxious about it!
-
I understand the freak out. The other day I went over my calories by 49 and I was like panicking. Then I said to myself - chill out!! This is not the end of the world, tomorrow i'll re-adjust to make sure I stay within my goal. Someone suggested the book 'Don't Sweat the Small Stuff' - I am DEF going to check this out -…

He actually just started this job about 2 months ago. He's been having these cramps but they are become more painful. I'll ask him about his sitting as well. THANK YOU SO MUCH everyone! This is so appreciated. I know he will be relieved to have some remedies to try. Very informative. Again thank you ALL so much.
-
It's always at the end of the day, usually after he has been sitting for a while. No recent fall/accident that I can think of. I was also thinking of taking him to the Dr. but he doesn't have insurance yet (i'm adding him to mine as we just got married) so that's why I was asking for advice on here. You're right though -…

I am writing all this down - thank you so much everyone!

I'm an avid coffee drinker too. During the week I stick to skim/soy milk and 1 splenda (I go to Au Bon Pain, get the hazlenut coffee and use skim/soy milk so I still have hazlenut but no calories because of it). On the weekend I brew myself so I have regular coffee and I "treat" myself with no-fat hazlenut creamer, one…

Thanks all. Vtach - he works for a company that builds bridges so he is standing all day long and doing labor work - painting, sawing, drilling. He stands for the whole 9 hours he works. I never heard of a functional trainer - i'll look into that! Potassium and Calcium - I will DEF have him bump up his intake. Again I…

I have to say I really admire you for wanting to focus on your nutrition and for realizing that not eating IS a problem. You seem to be going through quite the re-birth right now - getting healthy and possibly letting go of a rough relationship. Focus on you, take it one day at a time. Talk about it - as much as you want…

Ditto on the belly button! LOL I noticed it last night I was like "hey! I can sort of see my belly button!" Every bit of motivation helps.

Steamed shrimp with broccoli - sauce on the side. All chinese restaurants have this and its not a crazy modification, you'll be fine! I also get steamed vegetable dumplings and an egg drop soup.
-
Taylor - i'm thinking if something as nutritious as veggies can sit on a shelf in a can for a while there's got to be something in it that's making it last so long, which can't be good for you. But then again, I really can't say because I don't know much about canned veggies. Just a thought.

You're going to learn so much here! Track everything you eat. Log it all in and take a look at the nutritional values. I was eating turkey sandwhiches before coming to MFP, when I started logging it and realized my sodium was horrendous. So even though I thought it was healthy, I decided to cut that out b/c too much sodium…

Deb - I added you as a friend so I can checkour your diary. I'm always looking for new things to eat.

Bump!

a little random but I always welcome a mad world quote!!!

Really? I see the commercial all the time - with the mom who is putting Nutella on the whole wheat toast. "Nutella is made with skim milk, hazelnuts, and a hint of cocoa" Take a look at this link: http://www.factorfictionnutritionblog.com/2010/01/nutrition-imposter-nutella.html I honestly don't even like Nutella either way…
-
To be fair - the commercials for it are so misleading!! If a company says its "hazlenuts and a sprinkle of cocoa" i'd buy it thinking it was healthy. Since I've been on MFP though, I know better. I think it's so unfair that marketing for a product can make you believe its all-natural and healthy.

I remember a few years ago I had one friend who convinced me I could eat whatever I want as long as I drank Green Tea because it was a miracle worker and would speed up my metabolism (this is when the green tea kick first started taking form, now its everywhere). Now I look back at that and laugh. Green Tea is great but…
