As a mom of three sons, 17, 13 and 10 I would not recommend any punishment. If you are looking for a way to make your children do what you want or what they should, then punishments aren't the best method. They just teach through fear or manipulation. Better to reward your child for doing the right thing than to ever…

Lots of great suggestions on here, but I have to agree with the posts about the individual dog, especially coming for a shelter. You really have to get a dog that is obedient and tolerant of multiple family members. Your friend should be choosy and take her time. Good luck!

I think the 1400 calories sounded good and I wouldn't go below 1200 no matter what. Also the exercise sounds reasonable. I have no idea why you are gaining, but I know I have done the same thing. Just keep eating between 1400-1500 calories, exercise 3-5 times a week and I would recommend not eating back your exercise…

Good question! I hit a Plateau and scoured the message boards for an answer. I kept doing what I was doing and the plateau continued. I finally upped my calories and the plateau continued. I stopped working out as much or as often as I had (there was a death in the family that first included a illness and hospital stay, so…

I had this starting in 2003. I went to a physical therapist and had ultrasounds done to relieve the pain along with stretching/ strength training. I bought good arch supports for my running shoes and stopped wearing shoes without arch support. I started doing yoga about a year ago and I have noticed that all the…

Amazing! I like how in your before profile photo, you turned your head away from the camera and in the after profile photo you are really proud of the way you look. It is really about being happy and the weight loss can be so empowering. We all want to be healthy and happy...I love seeing that transformation happen in…

I think a new topic would be great! I like the one asking what kind of yoga we do. Answer: Vinyasa yoga. I started with this one because that is what my teacher taught and I'm glad I did. This is so much fun and so challenging. I love when she comes by to stretch us further or help us get aligned, but mainly that she is so…

Oh yeah and I wouldn't go the injections or expensive custom arch support route either. My PT used hydrocortizone cream and an ultrasound (I know, I thought it was odd, but it did work- something to do with the frequency used) on my arches. The ultrasound heated it up, so it would absorb faster. Then I had to do some foot…

Yes! I have had this since 2003. I had to see a physical therapist in order to get some relief. Once I did that, I have been able to maintain on my own- massage, wearing supportive shoes, watching for fatigue, etc. Arch supports won't solve the problem, but they will help prevent it from coming back once your done with the…

Hi All! I joined this group, but I never introduced myself. My name is Alissa and I have been doing Vinyasa Yoga since June, once a week and Pilates two days a week. Eventually I want to do yoga 3 days a week, but I need to get stronger and have more stamina. I tried yoga, once, about 5 years ago, and didn't think it was…

Breakfast: 2 eggs and 1 piece of whole wheat toast Lunch: Tuna. I used to make with eggs, mayo and relish, but my friend talked me into having it with just mustard. I am not a big mustard fan, but honestly it makes the tuna taste like chicken salad. So I have that with some steamed peas or green beans.

Great transformation! You look fabulous!

My husband proposed after one month, but I didn't accept. I proposed to him after one year and two months, and we got married that same day..3 kids and 16.5 years later, we are more in love now than ever. Good luck to you!

Hey! Good for you for joining! I do walking, biking, pilates and yoga, but do whatever you enjoy. If you don't like it, it will be hard for you to stick with it. I do an hour regardless of the type of exercise, either because that's how long the class is or that's how long it takes me to complete the task. I walk around my…

I don't pre-add any food or workouts since I am home all day and I never know when something might come up and I would have to change it. For me, it's to remind myself to think about it all day long, but if I worked, then I would have to handle it differently. I do look up meals before I eat if I am trying to decide what…

No, men are not wired to cheat. Although that stereo-type may apply to some men, it doesn't apply to all. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to identify the men that don't fit that stereo-type. Good luck.

Face and waist. Then hips/butt, now arms, calves (more defined), wrists/hands (I carry a lot of weight on my arms, it's lovely <eye roll>)

A friend of mine with 7 children and one on the way (that's a whole other story) has one that she bought refurbished and she LOVES it. She makes EVERYTHING from scratch, grows most of her own veggies, and makes/sells cupcakes to fund mission trips. She is very frugal, she does have 7 children, but felt that it was worth…
