I love it! It's my favourite machine. It can give you a serious work out if your push yourself. My left knee has some issues and treadmills tend to amplify it for me so i really needed something low impact. I just got one two weeks ago and use it almost every day to get my cardio in. I think its a great workout and does…

the other suggestions (yoga, walking, using the treadmill/machine) are great examples. It's not easy esp considering what else is going on in your life. I felt the same way the other after having a fight with my folks. I can totally relate to just wanting to curl up and forget it all. But you can power through. You can get…

oh nutella, unfortunately we broke up a couple months ago. I'll have to arrange for a rendezvous sometime in the future! I attribute a portion of my current weight woes to nutella alone. That's what happens when you go off to university and get to buy your own food for the first time. lol

I'm 5'1. I started out at 222. I'm currently 218 and just started a week ago. I'm hoping to be at least 145 someday soon. I have a large frame and a lot of muscle in my legs. I'd really like to be fit enough to do the swim tests that I did while training to be a lifeguard when I was really young.

Your body has probably learned to efficiently process that food into fuel instead of sending it straight to fat. You're probably much more active and therefore your metabolism has improved so it needs the added fuel to keep going. I also find that despite calorie counting, I'm eating just as much food as I used to (maybe…

Clothes fitting better is one of the best NSVs out there. Congrats on your progress. Not everything is in the number!

You look stunning and tremendously healthy. Congrats on your success story :)

i agree with 1 3 7 & 9. 1. chubb rub. Having that while walking this summer really put me over the edge and made me realize that i had to get serious. 2. having to wear pants that are high waisted to tuck in and hide my rolls 3. hiding myself so i can eat more to fill that hunger void. 4. having people hug me touch and…

Wow, what an awesome total drop in inches. Way to go! :)

I think in general a common number for my measurements leaves me at an ideal weight of 135. I will do my best to reach as close as I can but I think realistically, once I factor in muscle I don't know if that number will ever show up in the scale. I think once I get closer to the 150 mark, I'll be more concerned with body…

AMAZING! you are my inspiration. My journey is the same. I can't wait to be where you're at :)

I'm not too picky either. I can learn to appreciate any food in time ( and with enough hunger lol ) I've only eaten it once but I wasn't fond of quinoa. Something I'll start eating soon and learning to like one way or another simply because of how healthy it is. Game meat - certainly not my first choice regular ketchup -…

for now 0 but someday it'd be nice to have somewhere between 5-7 if my finances and relationship/marriage can manage it.

I'm struggling with finding a good balance as well. I think its really hard to be able to stay within the sugar levels that mfp suggests without suffering on nutrients. I've learned to live with the overage each day but still monitor it closely and opt for low sugar foods. Coming from natural sources is a good things…

oh the hipocracy and backtracking, my family is an expert on that. Definitely feel the pain with you on that one.
-
I don't but if you feel like your regular diets doesn't provide the nutrients you need, you should look into it. Just monitor it when you first start and make sure you're getting the most out of it or else you're just urinating it out. I've heard girls take prenatal pills for the beauty benefits too (good for hair and…

good luck on your journey and welcome! I have the same end goal (140-150). You'll find lots of positive people on here who are willing to give advice and encourage you along the way. Many stories come up each day of people's successes and in time, you'll be right there with them! :)

What a tremendous job. You look happy healthy and ready for life. :)

What a tremendous job. I can't wait to share my success story in the future. Yours makes for great inspiration! :)

Both of these suggestions sound great!

^^ this. Still shocks me every time! Esp since in my own cooking, I rarely add salt
-
It could be a variety of factors. Perhaps even a "eating semi-reasonably" diet might include too much sodium, fat, carbs..etc despite being under in calories. Sodium esp might create a water-retention problem making you add water weight. perhaps a closer look into your diary will reveal the problem.

I'd like to know this as well! Perferably stuff that uses minimal equipment

I weigh myself all the time only because right now as I start, pounds are still coming off. But when I hit a plateau or see the weigh loss taper off, I'll know to rely on my measuring tape/mirror to see where the inches came off and where I've toned up.
