  • Thank you to everyone who has responded thus far. I was very genuinely interested in how love matches came about. Certainly restored my faith in love, if only for a day. :) There are so many interesting, funny, unique, heartwarming stories and I've been reading them all throughout the day I couldn't edit my original post…
  • Happy Birthday love! Hope you have many happy and healthy birthday to come :)
  • I'm in the Scarborough/Markham area so feel free to add me! That goes for anyone else :)
  • I've done both methods depending on how strong or the type of craving. Sometimes, I can manage just minimizing the portions and eat the mini versions. This is especially the case when it comes to ice cream. I always get mini bars. Chocolate is my weakness so I often try to stay away from it completely because if I get any,…

  • I'd be happy to support you in your journey, feel free to add me! :)
  • What an amazing transformation. Congrats on your success!
  • Welcome! Congrats on taking the first step to a healthier you. You'll find lots of support here while you're on your fitness adventure. Best of luck :)
  • I eat when I'm hungry and stay within my calorie limit. So with that in mind, if I'm hungry at night I get a snack. If I have 500 calories left over from working out but I feel full and satisfied then I leave it for what it is and move on to tomorrow. There's also plenty of low carb snacks that you can eat if you're hungry…
  • I commend you on your honesty. Sometimes we slip up and fall onto old habits. It's just important to move on tomorrow, learn from what we did and make a renewed commitment to a change. You are stronger than your desire for junk food and I believe in your ability to push through and make tomorrow better :)

  • I agree that don't let it get to you too much. There's always going to be misinformed people, people who are unaware or people who give info based on their experiences not always taking into account that everyone is different. I think its important for forums such as these where advice is given out in different forms to…
  • I hear confusing opinions too. I eat late. Its the way my body has learned to consume its food. The same way that some people function better in the evenings as opposed to the mornings. I don't know if its right but its what works for me. I'd rather allow myself the ability to eat late and avoid over eating or bingeing. I…
  • I never realized how many people track their fibre. I focus on calories, carbs, protein, sat fats, protein sugar and sodium. sugar is sugar and as someone at risk for diabetes I watch it to ensure I don't go way over. Earlier on it was harder to stay under the limit but I never stressed about it. More exercise has helped…
  • Tremendously inspiring since I have the same journey to go and look like your before pics. gives me hope that i can slim down in all the right places and see results if i stick to it. thanks for being great motivation and inspiration. congrats on your new self!
  • I think this is what's happening too much. I'm probably not resting enough and its spiking my anxiety.
  • I do 40/30/30 and i've put it on sedentary for now. brown rice is a good choice. rice cakes make for decent carb additions without fat or sugars. fruits can sometimes be good depending on whether you're watching your sugars.
  • This looks great. Its my birthday month and what better gift to give myself than 10 lbs lifted off of me :)
  • Well one possibility might be the type of foods you're eating exactly. People can stay under the 1200 mark but if you're eating two burgers and a can of coke, its not really the right track to a better you. Evaluate the amount of sugars you're getting, where its coming from, if you're eating enough protein and if your…
  • Milk chocolate was always the way to go but now I've learned to appreciate darker chocolate. My other food discoveries have been almond milk and almond butter. Honey is now my organic sweetener of choice. It's been a new food adventure changing my diet.
  • I'm 21 and 213. I'm always happy to support others so anyone feel free to add :)
  • That's awesome. Congrats on your slimming down process! I can't wait to go shopping and move down back to that size again.
  • I have one. Once in a while I'll stick it on. I don't think it does very much except just make you sweat a lot more in that particular area. I don't think it can hurt if you have it. I wouldn't really recommend buying it because the effects are so minimal but if you have it laying around like I do, there's no harm. I don't…
  • I completely agree. I've always thought I was overweight my entire life. Even back when I was in grade school. So to look at photos now and see that I was just a regular girl makes me feel bad for my younger self, having to stress out so much about something that didn't even exist. Maybe if I hadn't felt so bad about…
  • what a great way to think about it.
  • totally agree. I didn't want to go further and further into my adult years being overweight. There's a sense of slack given to you when you're young or a student to make excuses for poor eating. I'm out of that phase in my life and have much better controls in place to allow me the opportunity to make good choices for…
  • I was just thinking about that today, the amount of clothing you'd have to go through in a weight loss journey as you shed the pounds. Any friends or family that you could borrow or get second hand clothing who are your new size? I guess one beauty of being the biggest in my family is that now I can start to share clothing…

  • I've been wondering too. Good to finally know!
  • bump! I'd really like to see who else is interested in a photography and perhaps check out other people's work :)
  • I love photography too. I do a lot of my own photography for my blogs. My (not updated enough) flickr is : http://www.flickr.com/photos/jaramae/
  • I'm shrinking in secret too. Haven't really told my family or my friends. I don't see my friends too often so I'm hoping the next time they see me, they'll see a major change!
  • I'm more than happy to support if you need it! I have a long way to go and won't be leaving anytime soon. Feel free to add! :)
