  • Just borrowed a JoeBlow Sport to pump up my new tyres - up to 120psi easy! Considering purchasing one myself!
  • It's done! I've actually only bloody gone and done it! The brake ended up with a complete overhaul, removed all working pieces and reassembled half a dozen times. I was not tempted to dismantle the front brake to see how to fix the rear. It was really tough. The brake calipers needed a lot of care and attention. I almost…
  • Whilst installing the gear cable for the rear, some of the strands frayed and caused the cable to catch. I am really surprised actually that I've done all this work and so far I just need to buy gear cable and brake cable. Front brake sorted and works well, front derailleur installed, cable attached - just needs adjusting…
  • Both STI levers assembled, and fitted to the bike, cables run smooth for the gears. Front brake is perfect, but the rear brake, the cable is worn and will need replacing. This is the first item that actually needs to be done - Sorry TBY, can't justify at the moment the replacement hoods - so I don't feel too bad. It's been…
  • Day Three - Regardless of the potential pitfalls, I decided to dismantle the LH STI lever. Making further careful note of the position of the items. There is no o ring that came from there. It might have come from a different source. But the RD STI is now complete, and moves nicely. The spring retainer tool has worked…
  • Day two. Not so much activity. The wife is not happy about our dining room being converted to a bike shop. I know, technically, I'm not selling anything, but she's not in "that" sort of mood. The ratchets seem to engage really well. I've connected back the two levers together quite nicely, and the spring in between was…

  • There is a downhill in Nottingham where the KOM is over 30MPH. Considering the way that the light system in the centre is set up the only way you can beat it is with a car, or running every single red light!

  • I think this is a fantastic idea, though I think that my wife (who already is a bit of a cycling widow) might have some issue of me cycling during the TdF AND me going out as well! If you were to look at some sort of factor for those with road bikes and those with MTB?
  • I just have a samsung galaxy s2, and cannot really afford a proper GPS, and tonight on the way home it seemed to work ok. I think I will keep using it. You all have new follows from me! Christopher! Cheers btw, seems like worth sticking with until I get a gps!

  • I've not touched a McDonalds since November 2007! I'll see your "Woo" and raise you a "Yay"!
  • When her and I had different ideas of where we wanted to be in five years. My wife and I compliment each other, not compromise.

  • As a cyclist, I use the cycle in the gym for my warm up and cool down before a weight session. No different.
  • The Godfather part two, The Usual Suspects, Memento, Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind, and LA Confidential. In no order.
  • Similarly to the driving on the left/right issue, spiral staircases in castles go in one particular direction so that defending is easier with your sheild in your left hand, sword in your right. You get more room for righties going downwards and swinging yer sword.
  • The average person has less than two legs. If you were to take every single Christmas tree which was used in Christmas 2012 and put these in Wembley stadium, England, you'd have no where to play football.
  • That's because we look in the mirror every day and don't pick up on the minute changes!
  • Welcome Kasey, the first step is the hardest and the fact you've made a conscious effort to change is something you should be proud of. It's going to be tough, and you need to make sure you're in a position to cope with the pressures of losing weight (which we all put on ourselves) and all the other cr@p that goes off…
  • Not at all. I didn't meet my soulmate until I was 29. Married at 30!
  • That is really good to know! I do not want to lose this much and have got back on my bike tonight. would be happy to get a little back on! just a little though! thank you so much for this! sent by my etch-a-sketch
  • Thanks for your replies. I started at 192lbs, now 171lbs. Daily allowance is 1610 and I am invariably there, or there abouts. I've not gone over for weeks. My diary should now be open for advice! Should I wait and see what happens next week?
  • It was actually what inspired my wife and I to start losing weight! The recipes are really good, and also been looking at the bbcgoodfood website for other recipes. The book is really good as well. The publishers did not order enough copies for production which is why there was a massive delay. The programme came out at…
  • District 13 soundtrack, recently joined by Dredd as well... The Prodigy Chemical Brothers - Beleive Recoil remixes from A Strange Hour in Budapest - Mixes Numan with Depeche Mode; also the soundtrack to same album. Has stuff like The Normal "Warm Leatherette" It has to be loud, beats, above 120bpm at least - I cycle at…
  • This is full of too much win. And information.
  • 20-45mins is fine for a workout. Each to their own as well. My wife has less calories than me, but I exercise more. We have a child and her and I make the decision to sacrifice a little of "us" time at night to do some exercise. Just because we've done it, doesn't mean that it is right. There is enough pressure to focus on…
  • Hiya Pain should not be ignored. And pain after exercise normally can mean that you have injured yourself. Best thing is to wait for the pain to go completely and resume low level activity and see how it goes. There is a difference, however between pain and discomfort. When you exercise lactic acid is the "waste" of the…
