A healthy BMi is between 18.5 and 25, so you're pretty close. Just google "BMI calculator" and you'll be able to play with it to see what a healthy BMi means for you weight-wise.

I went to Buffalo Wild Wings with a girlfriend tonight and got the Boca Burger. And I ate maybe 6 of the french fries and had unsweetened iced tea to drink. Still more than I normally consume in one sitting, but I didn't go nuts. And then I went and bought myself pants because my old ones were falling off :)

You are actually supposed to consume more calories when you work out. Otherwise, your body thinks you're starving it and holds on for dear life to those calories you do eat, which means you don't lose any weight. They say you're supposed to eat all the calories you burn, but many people only eat half of them back. That way…

Unless you're getting like 75% of your calories from protein, there is no real harm. There is such a thing as protein poisoning, but unless you're eating over 200g of protein in a day, this is highly unlikely. What happens then is that your body starts building up too much acid in the bloodstream, but you would have severe…

Think about it rationally: each pound is made up of 3500 calories, so unless you ate 5.6 times that many calories over and above what you were supposed to eat, you did not really gain that weight. Wait a week to weigh yourself again. I have noticed that my weight can go up ridiculously in the week before my period starts…

Home for the Holidays is a Thanksgiving movie, or I would've named it. I <3 that movie.

1) Mixed Nuts (can't believe no one mentioned this! So good!) 2) Nat'l Lampoon's Christmas Vacation 3) Mickey's Christmas Carol 4) The Ref 5) The Santa Clause honorable mentions - in nor particular order: Nightmare before Christmas Die Hard Scrooged Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Frosty the Snowman Christmas Story ("I…

I have a recipe for white bean chicken chili under my recipes. My husband says he also adds cumin and chili powder (he's the cook, not me).

1. I sleep 8 hours a night. 2. I plan out and log the next day the night before. 3. I don't have my favourite junk food handy when I have a wicked craving. 4. I stay focused on getting enough fiber and protein with getting too much sugar or fat.

It depends on what your goals are and how committed you are. Also, what your eating habits are like now and how drastically you need to change them over time. Just tracking calories (as stated above) is effective to weight loss, but not the healthiest way. I always try to make sure I get enough protein and fiber without…

Most everything I've read says to ignore sugars in fruit and milk. I let myself go over by the amount that's in my fruit without worrying about it. Or else I would never get to eat fruit, which is not healthy either. It's most refined sugars you should worry about. I did realize that I have to stay away from otherwise…

My wish: to go back to school and start working toward my bachelors (in either PoliSci or Communications). My hope: that my husband get hired full-time at his job. My goal: to be at my goal weight by July 31st. :)

I work 3rd shift, so I'm up until at least 7am every day. But I do sleep from about 8am-4pm usually.

Can dish it out, but can't take it, eh? I see. :)

I went through that for awhile. If I let myself go too long without eating (if I was busy and went past the point of being hungry) then anything I ate would make me feel like I wanted to throw it up. Half of the time I actually would throw it up. The only thing that worked for me at that point was bananas. A banana was the…

I feel the same way. And mine is only about 1700 with the exercise cals. I have a hard time eating more than 1500. Not mentally making myself eat it, but physically: my stomach just isn't that big anymore. Unless I ate total crap loaded with fat and sugar, I just can't get that many cals. Produce just isn't high calorie…

So did you. Just sayin'. I seem to never like music that is popular with my age group (I am 26). When I was a kid I listened to Billy Joel, Lionel Ritchie, The Dire Straits, Bruce Hornsby and The Range. I did like Alanis Morissette when Jagged Little Pill came out. But I *still* listen to that album. As a teen I was pretty…

I do eat an apple 5 days a week. I generally eat a banana only once a week, but I don't want to only be eating one type of fruit and bananas have the potassium that I don't really get enough of anywhere else. And grapes have alot of sugar. Like I said, I am trying to formulate a plan I can stick to long-term, not just…

I weigh 183 and I wear a size 14 pants. I'm an hourglass shape, so I carry weight fairly evenly: not all in one area. At 200, I need a size 16. At about 175-ish I can wear a 12. I've yo-yo'd between 175 and 200 my entire adult life, so I don't know what I would wear at any other size. There's a great website…

I usually get 8-9 hours as well lately. I have found that I have an easier time not needing a nap and feeling alert since I started sleeping more and stopped drinking heavily caffeinated beverages (I still drink unsweetened iced tea).

I set it at 1 pound because I want to keep the weight off this time and I gave myself a full year to lose the 57 pounds I want to lose.. Though I seem to be consistently losing about 1.4/week.

I work nights as well. My days go from noon-noon instead of midnight to midnight. I usually go to sleep around 8am or so and wake up around 4pm. So I just pretend that my time that I'm awake is normal. I enter everything on the day that I woke up. So, I JUST got done eating my lunch and I have it as Monday's lunch. From…

I had hit a 5 week long plateau when I enlisted the advice of my brother (who had lost about 120 pounds and kept it off for 2 years). He suggested the following: I've noticed, with me anyways, if I stay too strict for too long my body simply adapts to the reduced calories and I slow or stop losing. I find that once every…

I find that dehydration is my #1 problem when I feel tired all the time. I used to drink about 48oz of soda a day and would eat sugary things, similar to your craving them. However, I have been doing my current program (I just hate to call it a diet, because I don't intend to ever go "off" it) for about 13 weeks. I haven't…

Going over 200 pounds for the first time in my life. I knew I was fat before that, but I'm married and wasn't trying to attract anyone so I had a hard time motivating myself to REALLY do anything about it. But 202 pounds was NOT acceptable for me! And standing next to my sister and not feeling like a giant would be nice…

Your food diary must be set to private. We can't see it. In general: eating foods with high fiber will help keep you fuller for longer. If you're eating out of boredom, then you'll really be the only one who can stop you. Unless you have someone you live with who's willing to knock food out of your hand. Try journaling…

There's a website called Calories per hour <caloriesperhour.com> They have just about every activity you could imagine, including sex. I don't know how to add exercises on here as I haven't needed to, but at least you'll be able to roughly calculate how many you're burning.

I didn't even think about this! I just started yesterday and today I weighed 3 pounds more than I did 2 days ago. I wasn't panicking about it, but I wasn't happy. My weight loss had been pretty steady for 3 weeks. Thanks for asking! Another question for us ladies about TOTM: Do you crave anything specific during? I always…
