Would suggest eating the whole fruit. Many an apple has saved me from making really stupid food choices.

Actually I see that you have less bra overhang. Keep going! This has been a totally inspirational thread - I was doing 30DS but not regularly.

Congrats on your weight loss!! I'm not losing any pounds but I've dropped a size. My jeans have worn out so I get my jeans at (don't laugh) Costco. They are inexpensive ($15.99) and they look decent. Don't want to spend more money than I have to. People look so different at different sizes. No idea what size you will be at…

More whoopy with the lovely wife.

Smashing success!

Good point. Contributing factors could include what you eat and drink. Also smoking could be a source - it's beyond the obvious smell of the cigarettes but rather the smell of your sweat. Resident chemists correct me if I'm wrong here - if you eat a lot of deli or smoked meat (or a lot of meat in general), wouldn't the…

If only a Patronus spell could made these losers go away.... I've been catcalled by strangers a good number of times on the street - "Nutrisystem", "what a fat b**ch", etc. There is a reason why I do not ever exercise outside. The gym or home is safer. No offense to those trying to smooth things over by saying these guys…

I'm old (40) so forgive me that I didn't clarify. Richard Simmons was different that the other fitness "gurus" in the 80s like Jane Fonda (crazy hard videos - I could never touch my knee to the back of my neck), Tony Little (you had to buy his gazelle or whatever equipment he was hawking at the time), Denise Austin…
-
Richard Simmons is a weight loss pioneer. He was never about fads or quick fixes. He was never afraid to show people in his videos people who needed to lose a lot of weight. Billy Blanks did this in some of his Tae Bo videos. His "deal a meal" is a predecessor to the WW points system. He is awesome.

Lessons I learned from my mom: 1. You can make a 5 meat course breakfast for the family if you get up early enough. 2. Folding laundry to make it look like it was ironed takes practice. Lots and lots of practice... 3. The National Inquirer is the only source of real news. 4. Keep silent while your husband criticizes you…

Just pulling your leg..... The people you are visiting are going to be happy to see you whether or not you have lost that 5 pounds. You are beautiful and you look great! Stand tall and be awesome.
-
Gee whiz - we are damned if we do and damned if we don't. And to the OP - to heck with those people. They'll find other things to criticize people for. It diverts them from the thoughts of self-hatred they feel for themselves.
-
To the OP - it's commendable that you are working to drop the weight. Based on comments from the truck drivers I've talked to at work, trying to eat healthy and exercise while driving is insanely hard to accomplish. Anyone who has been to a truck stop will agree - virtually all the food in the display case is deep fried or…

I hired a personal trainer - she was great. She even helped me with some PT for my knee. The only downside was that I still fear burpees to this day. I need to drop about 50 more pounds before I can do 10 burpees in a row without nearly killing myself. I still have the routine she gave me. Just focusing on cardio right now.

This happens in more places than people care to know. I was relieved that I worked in sporting goods instead of clothing solely based on the horror stories I would hear about the fitting rooms. Poop is regularly found in the fitting room. I hate it when people trash a store to find what they are looking for. To this day,…

Totally second this! My husband and I joke that we cook Amish Style - maximize what is in season and stretch what you have. My husband grew up on the family farm in NW Germany. Nothing was ever wasted. Leftovers were converted into new dishes for lunch next day. I make a German version of bubble and squeak with leftover…

Totally know what you mean. I've learned to make my own breakfast sandwich at home with low calorie/low sodium alternatives - 330 calories for a sandwich bigger than what I can get a McD's.

My weekend homemade cappuccino made with half/half and truvia. I grind my own beans from an italian roast. It's so much tastier than anything from a coffee shop. Not giving it up. Nope. Not ever.

One thing to remember is that our bodies are not like cars - if you put in a certain amount of gas you will go a certain amount of miles. Sadly it's not some perfect equation. The weight loss is not going to predictably happen that you can accurately track it on a graph. However, the trend is going to be that your weight…

Second this. The weight is coming off for me after a couple of weeks of exercise and militant journaling. Some good news for the OP - my weight came off in a hurry after the third week.
-
Awww... you must be so proud of your lovely wife's accomplishments! She looks beautiful and strong.
-
CTL has a great point in that we need to put things into perspective. Going off the deep end about eating more than your plan allows for a week is not the end of the world. It took a long time to put the weight on, it will take a long time to take it off.

I comfortably dropped a size in my jeans. Before yesterday, size 20s were really tight and I would have to wear them if I ran out of jeans to wear to work. Surprisingly, they were pretty comfortable.

As I'm reading through this thread, I'm further amazed at the support systems we have. Sure, there are a few folks here who are the standard smokin' hot babes but a good number of us are closer to the fluffy end of the spectrum. And our spouses still find us sexy!!?! How lucky we are.
-
What about this? She has a similarly gorgeous figure.
-
Amazing!! Doesn't even look like the same person. Yet again, I'm astounded by the changes in people's faces when they drop the weight. Beautiful!

Maybe switch up some fruit choices with veggie choices? I'm a huge fan of sugar snap peas and love them plain. There are about 3 grams of sugar per serving compared to 13 grams for an apple. Baby carrots just have 4 grams of sugar per serving. But since starting here on MFP - I've learned to truly appreciate the apple as…

10-4 on that! I will be looking forward to your before and after pics in the Success Stories. :flowerforyou:

Second on checking your measurements. 30 DS is great - you'll lose inches more than weight but it's totally worth it. Don't stress too much if your weight loss is stalled this early in the game - I was stuck at one weight and actually gained. Then I monitored the sugar/salt closely, made some changes to my workout and was…
